Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this book. I actually just got it last month, at the tail end of my Thoth tarot season. It is an interesting premise in that it is based on his notes. I skimmed through it a bit, and I think it will be helpful to glean new little experiential gems from. I appreciate how organized you are with your review 😊❤

Wow, you're great at interpreting all the visual cues, the little details and subtle differences in the artwork! Amazing job at showcasing how one can find their way around a minimalistic or "cryptic" deck. I'm almost jealous of your intuition muscles. Sometimes, especially when I'm looking at a bigger spread, I hate catching myself almost not looking at the images, going off internalized meanings and concepts I associate with the cards and focusing more on how to connect those concepts - one card with another. But I love doing one card pulls (and studying a whole deck, card by card) and digging deeply into the artwork, looking for all those "what" and "whys" for all that is depicted, making associations and adding layers. Just my little ramble why I'm loving what you're doing here. Greatly inspiring!

Lovely video! I really enjoyed the segment of short videos from the nature around you, thank you for sharing! And your cat hard working making biscuits (haha), precious 😊. This is so true about the runes. And it's not only runes that got misappropriated. Unfortunately historic and current nazis take over almost anything related to norse paganism. So much so that I saw a popular infographic where some runes and norse symbols were shown as hate symbols 😐. As you said, one has to be careful when looking for sources when wanting to dig into norse paganism. Runes are still on my list to-learn. But from what I understood they were just alphabet letters and as such they didn't have any innate deeper meanings, I think. BUT, I might be completely wrong and there is historic evidence for the meanings that the current authors give. I've been intrigued by the Haindl tarot for quite a while but I'm scared by the amount of study it will require (in my mind) to understand. Probably wrong again, lol. But the art is beautiful. It's a gorgeous deck and, yes, amazing Rachel Pollack wrote the guidebooks! I really enjoyed hearing about your uplifting spread reflections with that. I have begun my Thoth deck season, and "The Crowley Tarot" (Akron and Banzhaff) book is one of my go-to's. So much is covered in that one! Thank you for sharing your experience. It's important this came from a store. A lot of deck creaters make an app or have it on theur website. I bought a few decks without a guidebook, because the artists were too lazy. Lol they are my friends. I wonder this too, but trying doesn't hurt. I think letting them know is not a bad idea. You could also just use them as wall art or regular playing cards. ❤

First than anything: I loved the way you record this. I typically leave TH-cam rolling in the background while I do stuff at home, but sometimes I feel bad about missing the visual aspect of the videos. So this was lovely. As a person that also started sharing content like 2 years ago, I feel seen by this take. I really appreciate what you shared here. I agree with everything you said specially the quotation aspect. I feel like I have to whittle the algorithm for myself, as far as content I watch and want to see. I am so done with Instagram and short form content, and absolutely agree about the necessity of slowing down to process any content we are choosing to take in. And, yes, there is so much over saturation on all levels! The larger issue of current censorship you mentioned and the implications inherent to that is quite a beast, isn't it? It feels overwhelming to tackle at times. I appreciate your closing sentiments 😁 I loved hearing your kitty's sweet voice in the background ❤

Thanks for sharing your experience! So unfortunate that counterfeits are so prevalent. Good idea about contacting the creators and publishers. If you end up leaving an online review of the shop, it would at least warn potential buyers. I think reusing the cards in a journal is a great idea. I feel similarly that the resources were already used, so why not extend their purpose? Perhaps you could also use some as bookmarks, or gift tags??
