So many channel had the Synnibear03 video as their first video ever..so many video start with "normally I don't cover topics like this" as their opening line...what "awareness" can come from a 100 sub channel that had NO INVOLVEMENT in the situation. All they do is repeat what had been said and "in my opinion what Synni did was disgusting" IT HAD BEEN KNEW! SHUT UP

i agree i hate channels that recap content/drama, but i also dont think this isnt that big of an issue. People love recap commentary and if they really wanted change they would've canceled half of the cartoon commentators by now. Those videos are weak and like you said the creators usually never add anything new to the conversation. But I also think this is what weeds out good channels from bad ones. It's up to the viewers to discern these differences, just like picking at bad article as a source from a credible one.

FINALLY SOMEONE SAID SMTH. I saw so many ppl just seem to be milking the situation when we need to worry about ENO most of all (and jack too-) but I don't see ENO getting as much support or financial aid as jack. I watched a recent video made by someone named Ken I think? And it was just a nothingburger and felt so petty and like they were trying to victimize themselves hard-core. That's just my two cents. As well, I commented on their video about the fact they made a new discord server called "cope gang" or something, but my problem is that it's a 16 plus server. It feels like things could just repeat again. (Not saying Ken is gonna do what synni did.) But it seems so off. Leaves a bad taste in ny mouth

For lack of a better word, this is a brave video to make. Due to the ages of audiences in the animation meme community, they lack critical thinking skills and are impulsive. I wanted to put in my own two cents on the situation but was worried about harassment. It's great seeing other adults give a balanced take. Words cannot describe how frustrated this entire drama has made me, because when you look into all of the details, things are not what they seem. Yet almost everyone was taking what they were being told at face value, as if these aren't life ruining accusations?

i dread when a new youtuber gets exposed and a bunch of random channels start milking it for views under the guise of "spreading awareness" cause at least 50% of those videos are telephoning information from other videos doing the same thing, so misinformation begins to develop. super annoying when youre just trying to see whats going on

yea i also dont think that ppl on the internet actually care, they usually want drama bc they had a bad day, although i disagree with synni talking sexually to minors and i feel sorry for the victims too, their feelings and perspective are valid, but other ppl on the internet who arent even involved are usually just clout chasers

it feels less like people care about actually protecting people getting justice for the victims and more like they just want someone to dogpile/hate on/make fun of without repercussion

Not to downplay what happened to the victim, my prayers go out to them, but I feel like portraying her as a pedo is dishonest. Weird? Creepy? Still gross and wrong? Yes, but I don’t think she's legitimately attracted to kids. She's in her early 20s, if I'm not mistaken, and people do not realize your brain does not literally mature the moment you pass 18. Synni may legally be an adult, so she did was gross and disgusting, and she needs to stay offline, but mentally speaking she is very much still like a teen. It's gross and it should be made known for safety, and she should stay offline and focus on her mental health and getting better, but it is not on the same level as a 40 year old grooming a teenager.

i wanted to literally become an art commentary youtuber juuust to make a video on this topic and you did it like right when i was gonna do it (which is AWESOME because i thought i was crazy for thinking this).. also same situation with smartschoolboy9 literally using a potential predator for clicks and viewss....

_i made a tiktok that was basically me reacting to four of the different creators that i followed over the years being called out for problematic behavior (synni included)_ _it was mostly made on a whim and i wasn't really expecting to get any sort of attention from it, but it got almost 2 million views before i private it and the two different reasons were that:_ _1. i included one creator that already cleared their allegations before and i didn't realize it until they reached out to me_ _2. i was getting extremely anxious with how much attention i was getting just for mentioning these four creators_ _again, it was made on a whim and not to actually gain that much attention aside from maybe a couple of likes because i was genuinely disappointed finding out about all these different people that i had so much respect for turning out to be way worse than i could ever imagine (minus that one person i mentioned)_ _while i do believe it's important to spread awareness and i did believe at the time that i was doing so, at the end of the day, what i did added nothing to the table and i should've known better considering im 24, a full-ass adult, and I'm well-aware of how serious these issues are_

I used to engage with a lot of art cc content as a teen, but slowly lost interest as I grew older. Now, as an adult, I just cannot get behind children (teens) making videos and actively engaging with the people involved about topics like this. Children are acting immature about these sorts of situations? Of course they are. They're kids. They don't understand the gravity of the situation, not really. If they did, they'd be more than happy to let those more equipped to handle it, handle it. THAT makes it extremely concerning as to how so much of the commentary community, or it's smaller channels, are made up of these children trying to handle adult topics. Which, god forbid, includes them GOING INTO adult spaces to try and understand what's going on or making content out of it. Stop. It's stupid at least and DANGEROUS at worst. I don't care if information is repetitive or if a teen made an extremely well thought out or informative video on a predator. They are putting themselves in line of sight for these predators, since what gets talked about the most in these spaces are predatory content creators. It's going to, and HAS, severely fucked up their perception on these issues, no matter how much they claim to know it's wrong. I'm disappointed, but not too surprised, that the adults in this community have let this run rampant for so long. In the end, it's a lot of them who gets made videos about for either their irresponsibility, or predatory nature. If you are one of said teens reading this, please. There are so much more fruitful, SAFER endeavors out there. I understand this community attracts vulnerable, abused kids, and perhaps this is their way of processing their trauma, being able to call out or *recognize* other abusers while they couldn't previously. But there are so many other ways, ways that will make you *happier*, to do that. Please stay safe.

Now I understand what you are trying to say in this video however from what I've seen and I've seen a lot of videos talking about the Synnibesr03 drama and from a lot of different point of views I can safely say that not all of them are spreading false information if anything it's literally almost non-existent when it comes to misinformation no there are some people who are spreading false information and defending synni but that doesn't change the fact that a lot of people are spreading awareness and are being very critical and being very informative when it comes down to the situation at hand again I understand your concern however at the same time I feel like this video was kind of a nothing Burger you're allowed to disagree with me and you're allowed not to like me because of my opinion and that's fine I believe that everybody should be able to disagree with other people's opinions but that's all I have to say have a nice day

Feels like a lot of channels are just using this to boost channel growth by spouting the same repetitive points, And it’s literally working for them. It just feels copy and pasted.

I'm mostly just commenting to boost the algorithm a little bit, but thank you for covering this b/c it's what I've been thinking for the longest time. it's become a serious problem that these content creators (often minors) are taking these super heavy topics and, intentionally or unintentionally, exploiting them for views. this isn't just "drama", there are victims that could be further hurt by potential misinformation being spread around.

I haven’t been to watch the whole video yet but from all that I’ve watched of this one, and just…reading through the comments, I really hope this video reaches more people. After watching Birdie’s video which, you should watch I think it’s a good video if you wanna get the gist of what’s going on, a bunch of other videos dealing with Synni were pushed my way and while I didn’t watch any, it just felt like people either making videos to cash in one “the latest drama” (even tho it isn’t drama) or trying to insert themselves in the whole situation to gain pity points. I just ultimately hope people don’t derail this entire situation.

Alright, I watched the video in its entirety. Pretty much agreed with most of what you said here. When I watched some of the other videos regarding the synnibear03 situation (aside from synni’s and jack’s videos, as well as the docs), I was hoping for more information that actually adds on to what’s going on, only to be disappointed that all the videos said the same thing with nothing new added. And don’t get me started on the people making light of this situation. Like there’s no need for Kendrick’s “Not Like Us” song being referenced over and over again. There are many content creators, big and small, who hop onto a bandwagon purely for the clout that it will give them, and its very apparent that they don’t truly care about the severity of the situation or the victims involved (I hate using the word victim, but I couldn’t think of anything else). They just want a justification to hate on someone they’ve either always hated and wanted a reason to do so or just because it is a hot topic to do so. Yes, in the case of synni, she admitted to the deplorable behavior that she committed, and maybe many of these kids had good intent with the videos they made, but there were many cases of people being WRONG or spreading misinformation on other situations with devastating consequences. But honestly, it’s always been this way and it think it will always continue; community behavior is out of one’s control. This is why I have stopped watching most of these commentary videos for the longest time. If there’s a situation I wish to learn more about, I will do my own due diligence to find more info if its there, or wait for more info to come out. I do hope those who were actually affected by this situation recover and move forward.

I literally saw a video that had the thumbnail or title saying synni is a predaphile. Alluding synni to be a pedophile despite the fact it was made clear she was talking inappropriately with minors, and grooming them into being complicit with her obviously not okay behavior. She wasn’t attracted to the victim, she was friends with them and normalized showing nsfw with them. Not only that but the video literally started off with “she was exposed by her roommate Jack for grooming, or jack’s boyfriend” Like WHAT. How are you going to cover this and not only get it all wrong, but then keep going with the video??? They obviously weren’t part of the community and didn’t know what was going on. Jack found the document on Twitter and made a video based off the evidence from the doc. Jack wasn’t involved at all with the victim of synni other than being a different victim to Synni’s behavior. People are making videos off this situation while also having no idea what’s it’s about simply because it’s about someone being called out for being creeps with minors. Not only that but it PEEVES me to all hell when people refer to her past behavior as signs that she was going to be like this. Not behaviors that were more recent with her being 17, and having comics about S/A, and her maladaptive day dreaming, but using things like her shipping Scootaloo and sans when she was 13. “Yeah she shipped a child and an adult together, should’ve seen the signs” SHE WAS 13 AT THE TIME AND SCOOTALOO WAS A SELF INSERT. THAT ISNT A SIGN. What the fuck. It really disappoints me how people are losing the plot, and just trying to find ways to have Synni look worse when, Synni is already looking bad with grooming allegations and for touching Jack. They just want to find a way to also call her a pedophile at this point.

It really bothers me. They never add helpful information because they don't understand or look into the situation. There should be stricter rules in place so these children can't have access to content and people they should not be interacting with. It never ends well.

I’m so glad that someone said this. It’s so weird how many videos I have gotten recommend to me that seem to be capitalizing on this issue. I don’t want to sound mean, but if I can’t tell the different between the thumbnail of a video about a sexual predator and the thumbnail of an animation meme then something is very wrong. None of the videos are giving new information anyway, just rehashing the situation for clout.

I mostly agree with you but I’ll bring up one thing- A lot of these channels are focused on their own personal feelings about Synni . They are doing their best to process that someone they loved turned out to be the worst possible person. I think that it’s ok to feel personally betrayed by her, considering a lot of people built their art off her and formed a parasocial relationship. I felt hurt too , but i have a good network of people to talk to privately so I was able to channel my feelings there. I know that in an ideal world, we really should just focus on empathy towards the victim , Jack and a few others involved and maybe only handle our own feelings of betrayal as the audience in private . But as I stated , people are flawed and those videos seem like an efficient way to vent it out, Atleast to them. As you said yourself - they will get ten views at most so it’s not even like there’s some malicious grind for clout. That being said , I think that regardless of how let down they are or how young , they should learn to fact check them if they wish to discuss the situation on their channel. It’s something you learn in school and there is no excuse. I know that there definitely is a few people that are just pushing this for clout and i don’t mean them. I just mean the 12 yr olds who decided to vent about the situation

as a teenager, i loved watching "drama" "rant" videos, i would watch every single one that appeared on my feed. now i recognize that a lot of them will just be the same news rehashed over and over again, without anything new added. so, now when a situation happens, i will try to watch the first / biggest video, then no others, unless i think they will have something new to add. that's actually why i clicked on this one, because by the title i figured it would be addressing this exact issue :)

The main part of these situations i'm mad about is people constantly making jokes about it like "watch out bro your gonna be groomed next💀" or "bro think he drake💀" like i know most of these people making those jokes are kids but its also being influenced by adult creators of talking about other cases and not taking shit seriously, its so disrespectful and like, especially with the synni situation the victim + birdie could be harmed again out of retaliation due to the situation..

my god, thank you for pointing this out! I'm so tired of all those drama channels pumping out videos about some viral topic while contributing absolutely nothing to the discussion. they don't present any real evidence to back up their claims and more often than not blatantly steal from each other. that's not "covering the situation" or "spreading awareness", that's leeching off other people's tragedy.

This video summarizes a lot of my thoughts on how this situation has been covered, I've already seen multiple videos spreading misinfo, even seemingly small things like confusing people involved can change how people perceive what happened, it's clear to me that for many of these videos, they're unscripted, and the person just talks about the situation from memory, which can cause the mistakes i mentioned previously. It's so important that things like this receive accurate coverage, and the doc does that well. On social media, people have also been spreading misinfo, calling her a pedophile and generally getting things wrong about the situation. It doesn't help the victims at all, and people just aren't taking it as seriously as they should.

The obly few videos that were informative were the ones who are close friends and were in the situqtion themselsve, had contsct and actually did their research, now jack had alrwady reached his goal which was great and all but ho estly you cannor avoid this, people qill constantly do this and even if you address so they dtill will continue to do so unfortunatwly, no amount of they can will make them stop 😭

This is why I ignored most of the "Synnibear03 is a groomer" videos because I knew it was gonna be the same topic over and over again, and it just gets repetitive at this point. I mean, these kinds of things always happen whenever a TH-camr gets caught, its basically how the internet acts when it comes to trends. If they see something popular, they'll just copy paste it.

Gotta say, as much as i agree with everything youre saying, its just so funny to me looking back, because everything you just criticized is _exactly_ what people have been doing in the animation meme community since the BEGINNING. Making videos for attention all saying the same thing about a popular topic, repeating it over and over and playing internet telephone. Only recently has there been any change.

I think I heard that youtube started pushing out videos of a smaller creators and this is why video with 15 views got to you. I think this is true, because last couple of months I started noticing more videos from smaller creators on my fyp (and not even videos about the topic that I waas watching at the time, just random videos with less than 100 views) and its great, finally something good from youtube.
