    What is the "soap" you put on the belt?

    • @leeankers1075
      @leeankers1075 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its a rubber belt cleaner, it unclogs the belt so it lasts longer

    What jig is that you are using? Is there a layout of it so that I could make one like it?

    Your camera angle doesn't allow for a clear view of what you're doing to the shafts.

    I've bought a template and feathers from you. Before I start my cutting orgy, and just to be certain, which end is the back of the feather? Also, my only criticism of this video, is that it could have done with a close up of the fitting and cutting segment for those of us who are cack-handed numptys!

    It seems that your crossbow shoots so fast for such low pounds. Must be the long draw or what i would say is a normal draw length. 👍👍

  • @ThanksIhateyoutoo
    @ThanksIhateyoutoo 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you made the prod 150-175 lbs would that affect spanning length, or would it be be he same?

    Can you explain how the trigger mechanism is fastened? I want to make a crossbow with this pushpin design myself but can't figure out what the best way of fastening is

    • @MyDeathhead
      @MyDeathhead 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was struggling with the same problem. The push pin is my favorite trigger mechanism. It took me awhile to prefect it but once you figure it out it's pretty simple. Good luck to you

    • @heritagelongbows3548
      @heritagelongbows3548 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    So I notice that the longbow in the video seems largely rectangular in cross section. To design the bow, are you using the methods and engineering formulas of Paul Klopsteg and Forrest Nagler?

    • @heritagelongbows3548
      @heritagelongbows3548 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No I don't use formulas I work by eye and touch. I prefer it that way. The cross section is still a little rectangular but only because I have not rounded the belly yet. It will be a "D" section when finished.

    Hi I'm part of a medieval reenactment groupe and I'm constructing a crosbow (we're a bow and crosbow company) and I'm a bit stuck on the actual bow part. What kind of wood/how do you shape a wooden bow that doesn't break or lose it's spring? I could really use a tip or two ^^ Thank you!

    • @briananuvattanachai6646
      @briananuvattanachai6646 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can't you would have to unstring it after use the best thing to do is make the bow out of rattan. It's very durable and almost instructable.
