I don't think I'm the first one to consider this but I'm pretty sure this theme is meant to be heavily inspired by Pavol's mental state and journey through the game. Sure, it's a heroic theme but it's also... heavy, slow, perhaps even uncertain. It feels like the song is forcing a smile and laughing off the horrors, and given Pavol's state as an alcoholic coping with lack of confidence and the betrayal of his wife this "upbeat, but something's off" vibe couldn't be more spot on. Later on he manages to gain some confidence through the events of the game, and it's easier to understand the dissonant nature of the song as him dealing with his shortcomings and trying to be a hero, obviously not doing a flawless job. Regardless, I'm impressed they managed to convey this without deviating from this medieval funk genre the whole soundtrack has going on and I'm really curious as to what Felvidek 2 would sound like if it ever comes out.

That theme is perfectly represents a medieval duel in eye-to-eye phase where in any moment someone will reach for his weapon. A tribal-like bass&drum beat with brutal guitar solo is the best combo you can ever get for this type of track.
