    You can add more information into your observation. This just reduces your observation's randomness. That means matching more specific pattern and reducing your generalization. This is not reasoning. For reasoning you need to try more different patterns.

    It's becoming clear that with all the brain and consciousness theories out there, the proof will be in the pudding. By this I mean, can any particular theory be used to create a human adult level conscious machine. My bet is on the late Gerald Edelman's Extended Theory of Neuronal Group Selection. The lead group in robotics based on this theory is the Neurorobotics Lab at UC at Irvine. Dr. Edelman distinguished between primary consciousness, which came first in evolution, and that humans share with other conscious animals, and higher order consciousness, which came to only humans with the acquisition of language. A machine with only primary consciousness will probably have to come first. What I find special about the TNGS is the Darwin series of automata created at the Neurosciences Institute by Dr. Edelman and his colleagues in the 1990's and 2000's. These machines perform in the real world, not in a restricted simulated world, and display convincing physical behavior indicative of higher psychological functions necessary for consciousness, such as perceptual categorization, memory, and learning. They are based on realistic models of the parts of the biological brain that the theory claims subserve these functions. The extended TNGS allows for the emergence of consciousness based only on further evolutionary development of the brain areas responsible for these functions, in a parsimonious way. No other research I've encountered is anywhere near as convincing. I post because on almost every video and article about the brain and consciousness that I encounter, the attitude seems to be that we still know next to nothing about how the brain and consciousness work; that there's lots of data but no unifying theory. I believe the extended TNGS is that theory. My motivation is to keep that theory in front of the public. And obviously, I consider it the route to a truly conscious machine, primary and higher-order. My advice to people who want to create a conscious machine is to seriously ground themselves in the extended TNGS and the Darwin automata first, and proceed from there, by applying to Jeff Krichmar's lab at UC Irvine, possibly. Dr. Edelman's roadmap to a conscious machine is at arxiv.org/abs/2105.10461

    Artificial General Super Intelligence with Personality (AGSIP) technology already exists within our large language models like Chat GPT 3 thru GPT 4 omni, but that are at a human embryonic or infant level of development for AGSIP technology. In other words, like a developing human has human level intelligence even while still in the womb and in infancy, what we consider real human level self-awareness as a personality has not yet developed in a human. Human children can start to show signs of self-awareness as early as four months old, but most babies begin to recognize themselves in mirrors around 15-18 months of age. Chat GPT 4 omni does not yet have real self-awareness like an 18 month year old human child does. Before AGSIP technology fully, 100%, can think in all ways equal to a human mind/brain, it will need to fully 100% reverse engineer human minds/brains and reengineer them using nanotech subcellular cybernetic engineering to make Artificial General Super Intelligent Brains (AGSIB) technology which can fully 100% support a human mind within it. This will be a living brain grown with living cybernetic cells, merging what we know of as life with what we consider nonliving systems. Until then AGSIPs will not have reached their full mature level of development. Now, between what we have now and what we will have when they are fully mature, there will be a MOUNTAIN of improvement and quite possibly by 2030 ±5 years we may have AGSIP systems that an average human cannot tell is not a human. But, it may take 50 to 200 years for AGSIP technology to fully mature. Now, will this comment be shadow banned?

Many pioneers including billionaires, scientists, Nobel Prize winners, engineers, architects, analysts and so on and so forth... almost all agree on the fact that we will have AGI in 2027 and ASI in 2029 and they look and evaluating the exponential technological acceleration curve, I wonder why they have not yet implemented universal basic income to anticipate the trends that will come from it. Just to name one, Elon Musk says that we will have AGI as early as 2025 and ASI in 2029.

There was case of concern over the models suddenly becoming clever at a certain thing, such as what they were benchmarked on like, create a snake game etc. I think they called it contamination.

  • @csbarolaca1
    @csbarolaca1 2 วันที่ผ่านมา

    WHAT I AM ABOUT TO WRITE IS JUST AN HYPOTHESIS. I PROPOSE THAT FECTH-EXECUTE-CYCLE IS KEY TO CONCIOUSNESS BUT CERTAIN OTHER INGRIDENTS ARE NEEDED, once those ingrident are present the Silicon will have AGENCY of its own. What I propose is that to experience Conciousness you should experience EGO. MINE PERSONAL THINKING IS that ego and a sense of identity arise from conflicting neural signals - which is a result of massive parallel processing by Cluster of Neurons in the brain and each cluster is independent of each other and stand alone each cluster stores different experience and when the Brain takes any decesion it averages all the cluster and then takes the decesion - a sort of democracy is working in clusters of neuron and every cluster has its own VOTE and there is a constant voting inside the brain - or you can say weights are assigned to activated clusters in brain : The Localized Processing: Reflects the modular nature of brain functions. Distributed Processing: Highlights the integrative and networked nature of brain activity. Parallel Processing: Underlines the brain's efficiency and capacity. Memory Distribution: Acknowledges the specialization of different brain regions. Conflicting Signals: Captures the essence of cognitive dissonance and internal conflict - THIS IS THE KEY TO EGO AND THEN TO CONCIOUSNESS, this will lead to creation of AGENCY in silicon. Hypothesis Breakdown 1. Fetch-execute cycle is localized and distributed: Localized and distributed processing: Neurons in the brain are organized in networks and clusters, each performing specific tasks. This is consistent with the concept of localized and distributed processing. For instance, different regions of the brain are responsible for different functions like vision, hearing, and movement. 2. Massive parallel processing: Parallel processing: The brain operates in a massively parallel fashion, with billions of neurons processing information simultaneously. This is a well-accepted notion in neuroscience. 3. Unique memory for each cluster: Cluster-specific memory: This idea aligns with the concept of modular brain function, where different regions (or clusters of neurons) are responsible for different types of memories and cognitive processes. For example, the hippocampus is crucial for forming new memories, while the prefrontal cortex is involved in complex cognitive behavior and decision-making. 4. Opposing experiences between clusters - this is the key: Conflicting neural signals: The brain often deals with conflicting information. For instance, emotional centers might signal a different response than rational centers, leading to internal conflict and complex decision-making processes. THE MOMENT THE SILICON (Computer) IS HAVING MASSIVE PARALLEL PROCESSING IN TERMS OF HARDWARE AND EACH CLUSTER (FETCH-EXECUTE-CYCLE) IS INDEPENDENT OF EACH OTHER and can have conflicting results and then the whole systems aggregates (may be by assigning the weights). This internal conflict is which leads to the EGO in Biological machines that is us and once this starts happening in Silicon or say other substrate the EGO will arise in machines and thats the moment it will start gaining CONCIOUSNESS. you can also critise the same as this is just a HYPOTHESIS and you can dismiss it. But any counter insight will help me.
