Put in km man idiot
70x200 meter repeats at 400 pace. 1 min rest. Nah im judt joking but you should try that workout. 👍🏽🫠
Man i have a friend that is faster then me because of his genetics and hes a year older then me. So im gonna try to outrain him because hes real cocky and annoying.
That easy and tempo pace seem a bit fast. I ran a sub 17 5k and my tempo is only around 6:00, Maybe the tempo should be around 6:15 and easy should be from 7:30-8:30.
Easy is really any pace that’s conversational so in hindsight, I probably shouldn’t have given it a range. 6-6:15 is a pretty solid range for tempo. Everyone is a bit different: an 800m runner moving up to 5k will likely have different strengths than a marathoner moving down to a 5k.
Hi, I am from India. Thanks for such a interesting Videos with amazing information... My question is related to Half Marathon, I am targeting 1.30 to 1.35 for my Next Half Marathon which is in Last Week of Feb 2025. My PB is 1.41.40 (Half Marathon - Oct 2024). Please reply whenever you get time.. Thanks
Thanks for watching! What can I answer for you?
3:41 is my PR and my goal is to hit under 3:30 this spring!
You can do it!
At the start of my xc season I had a 7:11 mile and last time I ran a 1 mile I got 6:24 so I think I can break 6 sometime soon
100% you got it 👏🏼👏🏼
I am actually training for sub 1 hour 45 min half marathon and the pace and training looks very similar just distance is long. I do my interval training with 1 min fast at 4:00-4:30 min/km and 1 min cool down between 5:30-6:30 min/km doing total of 10 round of each. Easy runs (I set heart rate as a parameter using my smart watch) I do 15km at 5:35 min/km pace keeping heart rate between 124-156. Threshold I do at 5:05-5:15 min/km Long runs on Sunday.
Hit a 8:30 PR today. Friends run 7 flat for multiple miles. Slowly getting better every day
Stay strong!
I've watched alot of running videos ... And i found this to be the best overall
I really appreciate that!
my PB is 58:29 , aiming sub 55 next month before tackling sub 50
You can do it!
I just ran my first half marathon and my time was 2:00:09 😢 I was so pissed at myself when I learned that sub 2h half marathon is a thing…
So close! When’s your next half?
#fallrunning #trailrunning
Crunch crunch
👌
I’m so happy because 2 weeks ago my mile pr was 6:33 and in competition for a 2 mile run at mile marker I was always at 6:45 but on Friday 2 days ago at mile marker i was at 6:33 and got a 13:53 old pr was 14:19 on
Great job!!
I have never heard of the last one but I do the other ones. I’m also a runner with a goal to beat the world record of a 4 minute mile!
👍🏼👍🏼
I just ran my first sub 7. Breaking minute markers is addictive and now I want to break 6 someday.
You can do it!!
EXACTLY the video i missed. Bonked pretty hard on my last marathon but somehow finished it under the cut-off-time. Now, with this information and more mileage it is going to be sub4. Thank you for that fantastic video!
You got this!
So in April I hope to do first half marathon. Im running 5k most weeks so in last 6 months I ran about 20 parkruns. I'm at 26 mins for 5k. I ran a 10k In 57 mins. I run 3 or 4 times a week and I hope to do a long run 16k to 18k on Sundays. Anything else I need to do.
12 to 18 weeks of 40 miles per week. Imagine doing 100-110 miles per week for that long and still only having a PR of 4:49 after 15 marathons. Guess it's just a crappy hand.
22:55 as a sophomore i’m cooked
Stay consistent, keep focusing on building brick by brick. You’ll get there 👍👍
How long should my easy runs go? 10km or 15km?
Between both of those distances, and depending how many runs per week you’re doing, 5k to 13k is probably good for midweek runs. Build up to 15k+ as a long run
I run a 22:00 min 5k but I wanna crack to 18 overtime, I tried to get better but nothings working..
Definitely work on building up base/easy miles. Spend some time doing threshold workouts and workouts just faster than goal 5k pace. I have some extra helps in my free group that may be of help: www.skool.com/running-secrets-5014
my 5k pr is currently 20.01 and i did that about a month ago @ 15
Good job!
I just ran 20:50 at 14 years old. This is my first xc season
4:50 3 years ago. i want to break it this time
You can do it!
As a 14 year old, my 5k right now is 20:20 and I’m trying to get it down to 18’s by next season. Any tips?
Stay consistent, stay patient. Run track in the spring. Lots of easy miles in the summer.
@@CoachJasonatRunningSecrets I just ran I meet and got 18:50 😁
Just broke 20 and now turning to this video
LETS GOOOOOO!
I have done 1:32 for a half marathon. But for my 2 marathons I got 3:54 and 4:18. I crushed badly after mile 22. I jump to 20-22 min per mile hehe. I will attempt to follow your instructions and hopefully I come back with an update. This is the first video that has popped up where the person does not tell me how he is a certified influencer. Thank you in advance ^^ October 7th, 2024.
I’m excited to see your progress! 😁
I've started I guess "serious" running again. I was able to run 1/2 at 2.00.12 so that last 6km where easy 5.20 min pace. I was able to run 10k in 39.45 min, 1/2 in 1h 34min and a 1/1 in 3h 29min when I was 20. But now I'm 53y old, so I have no idea what would be a realistic goal in my age, running around 25km a week. Greetings from Finland.
Thanks for watching! 😁 I bet with some consistent weeks and months of training, you could surprise yourself with a great time.
17:04 at the age of 40 but now i'm 63
💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
My first marathon 4:18 ..6.05/km ..05 may this year ..n this nov ..i have run my second marathon ..i want to target sub 3:45 ..
Good luck! Stay consistent and keep working. 👍🏽

Did 3:42 in oslo ( hilly )21. september. Do you think 3:30 in frankfurt (flat )27. oktober is the correct goal?
Nice! Quite possibly. Depends how your build-up has been. I think if you could do a 3:42 on hilly terrain and feel relatively good, you could probably go 3:37 or faster on a flat course.
My wife is a kidney stone factory and over the years and my non-medical observation is that high stress really brings them on. For her, It’s holidays. Thanksgiving/Christmas especially. Thanks for sharing.
Bless her! They are no fun, that's for sure. Thanks for watching :)
Hi thank you for the video. In terms of progression for tempo runs. Let’s say a pace of 8:25 during a 20 minute tempo run becomes “easy”. Is it better to decrease pace time to 8:15 for 20 minutes or keep the 8:25 pace and increase the duration of the tempo run to 30 minutes? Thanks
Good question! For the 10k, I would focus on increasing time first, then increase speed. Like you said, if 20 minutes at the goal pace feels easy, add some more time to it at the end, ie) 25 minutes or 30 minutes. For the 10k distance, that's probably sufficient time to tempo. Any other distance, I would say keep the pace the same and just keep adding time. Thanks for watching!
PS- I'm going to address this more in my online running community. :) You can join it here if you'd like www.skool.com/running-secrets-5014
How long or how far are the easy runs?
2-5 miles during the week.
So far this cross country season, as a freshman I made it from 24:00 to 20:11. I hope to get 18:00 flat by sophomore year to start varsity.
That’s awesome! You’ll get there. Stay consistent and focused and you can do it
@@CoachJasonatRunningSecrets Thanks! I went from one of the slowest to 3rd fastest freshman on the team currently. Hope to be varsity next year.
Thanks Coach. I disrespect all your negative critics. 😂
😂 I appreciate you 🫶🏼
Hey, what a good video. Right to the point and super informative. Thanks a bunch!
Thanks for watching! ❤️
Hello great video. I just got back into running after having been off for 2 years due to Hip issues. Not 100% but working on it. I am actually shooting for a Sub 3Hr at the 2025 Berlin Marathon, but at my age 56 and with my hip issue, it seems like that might be out of reach. So, I am shooting for another sub 3:30 with a year to train. I have run 7 Marathons since 2011 in which I finished (3:27:46) no plan I just ran and ran. My PR Came at the 2018 Illinois Marathon in Champaine IL. (3:22:32) again no training plan. That run Qualified me for the 2019 Boston (4:15:02) and 2019 Chicago (3:30:28) Marathons. I have never used a training plan I just ran. I am hoping with a plan it will help get me back to being able to Run a Marathon. Did a 5K this month at 7:43 mi/min pace. How will I know when to Start a training Plan 12 Weeks or 18 weeks out?
You really need to address the kidney stones. Marathon runners get them more frequently due to electrolyte imbalances, kidney issues, leaching calcium due to acidic blood. I know you already know this. Maybe even parathyroid issues. Get it tested. Wouldn’t hurt to consult with medical specialists that deal with extreme athletics. Do this before you damage your kidneys. Even if it’s a familial pattern, you need to find a way to manage this.

Sounds like you were pretty dehydrated and maybe under fueled. If you always have to stop to pee you need a lot more sodium to retain the water instead of passing it. Also how many carbs per hour did you take in?
Oh for sure, definitely dehydrated. That was my first issue. Historically I have taken caffeine when I run, which acts like a diuretic, but I’ve cut back on that. Carbs per hour is around 45-50 depending how I’m feeling.
The reality is that the cutoff would likely be under 3:01 anyway. Great time either way
I’ll be curious with the change now what the cutoff will be. 👀
@@CoachJasonatRunningSecrets yeah in theory the cut off is the same and they just adjusted the times to me more inline.
Awesome vid, thank you!!
Thanks for watching!
Hey, keep going! Your story is inspiring. I haven't done a road marathon yet and likely won't until I can get under 3:30, which is likely a year or two away.
Thank you!!
You 100% have a 2:50 at least in you. Add in some more miles with speedwork and you should qualify for Boston with ease.
That’s the plan! I kind of had this “aha” that upping mileage will be a key part of it
