This is a quick video on replacing the VVT, Or Oil Control Valves on a Nissan Altima 2.5 liter.
Tools needed
Code reader
12 inch 1/4 drive extension
10mm 1/4 Drive socket
1/4 Drive ratchet
21mm to remove factory lug nuts...Torque is 83ftlbs. to Tighten
Large Flat Blade Screwdriver
clip removal tool or pocket screwdriver
oil and filter
Common symptoms are going to be stalling, rough or wont idle,
Preforming oil changes every 3000 miles with good grade oil and a quality filter prevents these from sludging up and getting stuck.
If you see what appears to be glitter in the valve you can try and see if it will work, more often than not it is only a band aid for internal engine damage caused by low oil.
