P0014 Nissan Altima 2.5
This is a quick video on replacing the VVT, Or Oil Control Valves on a Nissan Altima 2.5 liter.
Tools needed
Code reader
12 inch 1/4 drive extension
10mm 1/4 Drive socket
1/4 Drive ratchet
21mm to remove factory lug nuts...Torque is 83ftlbs. to Tighten
Large Flat Blade Screwdriver
clip removal tool or pocket screwdriver
oil and filter
Common symptoms are going to be stalling, rough or wont idle,
Preforming oil changes every 3000 miles with good grade oil and a quality filter prevents these from sludging up and getting stuck.
If you see what appears to be glitter in the valve you can try and see if it will work, more often than not it is only a band aid for internal engine damage caused by low oil.

      @YouCanFixIt thanks for the response. I checked the front drains by the hood and it was dry, the trunk had a lot of water, I drained water also from the under carriage drain holes, the thing is now, idk from where is the water coming in. Any ideas, thanks.

      @YouCanFixIt 27 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Rear tail lights are a big culprit. Another is seeping under or over the rear rain seal. I would clean the rear gaskets good and insure the tail lights are sealed. A good test is have someone run a hose over the car while you watch where it is coming in.

    So taking the ac compressor out should you remove the hose and see ac coolant coming out? Or how do I prevent that I’m stuck here lol

    • @YouCanFixIt
      @YouCanFixIt 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No you don't remove the hose just allow it to relax . Removing the hose requires you to evacuate and recover the refrigerant first. If you have removed the hose you are going to need to have that procedure done to insure the system is properly filled and there are no leaks from damaged oring.

    • @YouCanFixIt
      @YouCanFixIt 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @zodot5875 I would have your battery terminals checked and or replaced would be a good idea 💡 to have both your alternator and battery checked to insure that they are both healthy. Battery terminals need to be tight at the battery or they can cause poor performance from starter and alternator causing failure prematurely.

    My boss/friend needed help replacing the rubber coupler, i was there at the final process. He accidentally took the steering wheel off in the middle. We got everything back together and the wheel is slightly to the left. How can we align it center without taking out the back bolt towards the firewall?

    • @YouCanFixIt
      @YouCanFixIt 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @Ridestereo765 there are only 2 ways the intermediate shaft can be installed. I would recommend an alignment and recalibration of the steering angle sensor. I remove and replace the entire column on a regular basis and have not had the steering off center just from removal. More than likely the off center was already there and now that everything is tight it is showing more prominently. If it where off that bad from repair you would have both airbag lights and steering angle lights on.

    I hope I can get an answer. -- I have a Kia soul 2012 2.0L automatic. The compressor has been leaking a drop for some time. I tried to stop it with RTV silicone but not luck. The car has 74K miles, A/C is cooling fine, and compressor is working. Do you think I will need to replace expansion valve and Drier with 74K miles and the system working just fine? -- I already bought a brand-new compressor (OEM), and planning for next year to change it. summer is coming and I live in the desert with 110 degrees. I keep my car in good shape. I'm not a stupid kid keeping the car full of garbage, and never take care of their car, so now you know how my car will be. -- I will appreciate any reply.
