In March 4699, a boy by the name of Lucky Luck arrives in the space city King Clone after his repeated stowaways. Lucky’s purpose is to meet Captain Ahab, the most famous whale hunter in the universe. Soon he finds whereabouts of Ahab after following a prosperous weapons merchant. But he is forced to take an employment test against his will as he irresponsibly comments he wants to be a whale hunter.
Hakugei: Legend of Moby Dick is Sci-Fi animation series based on Moby Dick by Herman Melville. The legendary director, Osamu Dezaki realized ideas he had cherished for ages in this series.
In the remote future, there are rough fellows hunting wrecked spaceship called "whales" for living. Among them is Ahab's Whale Hunging Company led by Captain Ahab known as the most skilled hunter. After the encouter with Lucky, a boy asking him to save his home planet, Ahab sets out for Planet Moado to fight agaist a white space battleship nicknamed Moby Dick. Actually Ahab lost his one eye and one leg in the past thanks to the ship equipped with weapons able to annihilate plantes. Directed by Osamu Dezaki.
