Is concurrency round also present in SDE 1 round?
They do ask OS related questions.
These series is by far the best recursion series I have watched on TH-cam. I have watched some really popular series but they're unnecessarily long and don't focus on the crux. Thanks for the awesome videos. It's a pity that this channel is still undiscovered. It's truly a hidden gem <3
Can you please tell us how to solve the follow up as well. Follow-up: If nums has duplicates, would you modify your algorithm? If so, how? I believe the same logic works for duplicate also,.Even with duplicates, the guaranteed elements remain those that are unblockable by elements on either side of them. The existence of duplicates does not inherently "save" an element if it would otherwise be blocked. Please correct me if I am wrong
I believe so, if there is any occurrence of the element which is not blocked, we should be able to find the element. So, the same algorithm should work.
Why did you gave interview in Aug if you knew you couldn't join any other company back then? Was it that they didn't offer enough increment in your existing offer?
I had already started working, and I felt that I did not have enough incentives(majorly compensation) to switch. I was a bit discouraged by the mismanagement on their part as well.
Hi Sir, I have upcoming interview for SMTS.. Can you share the resource for DBMS In LLD do we have to write the woring code as well. Can you please share the HLD question asked? For OOPS , OS what is the understanding level required? can they ask to implement concurrency using locks as well?I just want to know the depth of questions asked
Hello, sorry for the late response. Most probably you would have already gone through with the interview, but I'll still answer the questions. I do not have a one stop resource for DBMS, I used to rely on Knowledge Gate DBMS series and G4G cheat sheets. Just make sure you know SQL, types of databases, concept of SQL and NoSQL dbs, concept of transactions and concurrency, hashing and searching atleast. LLD interview usually involves pseudo code writing. You should be very good with OOPs and have a decent understanding of OS. Yes, they can ask you to write a pseudo code with locks/mutex.
For people who do dsa in c++, whats the best way to do machine coding/lld? Should we learn some new language for this as I get rejected using c++ as its a little off when it comes in comparison to proper oops in java etc..
I don't think that is the case. C++ is a full fledged Object Oriented programming language. You can demonstrate all the principles of OOP in C++, and you can write LLD interview required pseudo code in C++ as well. I used to give all my LLD rounds in C++. As an interviewer, I do not give any weightage to the language used.
Just make sure that you are using all the C++ OO concepts properly in the interview.
I'm currently a .NET developer with 2.5 years of experience at a service-based company. I want to switch to a product-based company. Given that many product-based companies use Spring Boot, will my .NET background affect my chances? Can you guide me on how to prepare?
No it would not affect your chances, big tech companies do not focus on your prior tech stack as they have to anyways onboard you on their internal tech stack. They primarily focus on your problem solving and system design skills which are agnostic to the tech stack you used. Resume is just a means to gauge your capabilities and level of contribution, not specifically your skills in a particular tech stack.
@@turningturing9217 Thanks for the guidance.
@@turningturing9217 Hey, I came across similar issues where even the faang HRs were asking me for my tech stack on the first call and sometimes refusing to move ahead citing they want a particular stack, is this some new trend? Even my friend who recently joined google said he only got team matched because he had java.
Hey, It is a possibility but not a norm. Sometimes recruiters are hiring for specific hiring managers, in that case they would prefer someone having experience with the team's tech stack. More often, they hire people and later match them with HM. In that case, tech stack should not be an issue. I've also seen people getting hired for android with no experience in android. So yes, there are multiple possibilities, but definitely you can still get hired.
Thanks for the informative video 😊
Thanks for sharing
I have a screening round scheduled for Google L4 SWE role on 29th July. Any tips that you can give as to how to prepare?
1) Focus on practice - Make sure to solve a variety of easy to medium level questions before the screening. 2) Practice coding on Google Docs 3) While practising, make sure you think about all corner cases and cover them in your solution in the first iteration. Do not keep submitting the code, and then covering the cases failing iteratively. 4) While screening, try to cover all these: collecting all the details, discussing approach, writing clean code, writing unit tests.
@@turningturing9217 Thanks for the tips! I cleared my screening round! Any tips for the on-sites?

Thank you for sharing your interview experience!
Hello sir , I have my onsite Round scheduled for SMTS role . Can you share the HLD question ?
Hi bro
Tumi bangali?
না
Thanks for sharing your experience and helping a community of people. Do you mind sharing why you were rejected if that was the case?
In the concurrency programming round, I did not get a good feedback. I wasn't able to explain my solution very well. Since, I took a lot of time in explaining, I wasn't able to complete the code as well.
@@turningturing9217 Thank you! appreciate your insight!
Thank You for the wonderful insights bro !!!
Nice explanation, thanks.
Hey, what about system design round ? I thought the usual pipeline is screening + 2 dsa (or 3) + 1 SD + 1 HM ?
Hey, screening + dsa + concurrency programming + hld + behavioural was the setup for SDE2 interviews when I interviewed. There is a high probability that it might have changed over time.
Thank you bro for this, Really needed to hear this.
Hi, Which resources did you use for googliness round ?
Hey sorry for the late response. My recruiter gave me an overview of the kind of questions I can expect and she also gave me some pointers for answering these questions. That call with recruiter was really helpful. I also skimmed through some videos shared by her in the preparation mail.
Was there no LLD round? I heard that there's LLD rounds as well.
I’m working as Salesforce Developer and having 2YOE. Amazon and Google consider this role as Application Eng(Salesforce) So am I eligible to apply for SDE2 role at Amazon ? And as I’m working on diff Tech Stack so should I need to have good grasp on Backend frameworks like - Spring and AWS services just for sake of Interview ? Please do let me know about this.
It would be really tough to get interviews for SDE2 role as 2 YOE is kind of the borderline for SDE2 roles, and since your prior experience is not pure SDE/SWE it would be even more difficult. Specifically for interviews, you would only need DSA and system design knowledge but no framework specific knowledge. In order to get an interview, it would be good to learn these frameworks and add some projects to your resume to show prior experience. This would help in resume shortlisting.
It’s a Great Share. You covered almost everything what Salesforce offers, Teams, Tech Stack and Interviews. It will be really helpful for aspirants to have better idea. Best Regards
Sir All requirements is right but what if we not fulfilling the CGOA criteria ? Will they Not allow me ?
In on campus placement, you would not be allowed because that is a mandatory criteria. You can try off campus, if you have a strong resume you will get the interview irrespective of the CGPA.
@@turningturing9217 thank you sir I am from NSUT delhi I will apply offcampus only for ML internship And ek baar btaye bus kya yhi Hft offcampus recruit krti h aur koi se nahi krti h Jaise Quadeye , world quant etc ..
could you please help me out like in single round of interview how many question were asked. like only 45 min assigned 2 question and theier respective followup questions?
Yes, one round is always 45 minutes. The number of questions varied for me in different rounds. In one of the rounds, I only got a single question, while in some I had to answer followups.
Number of questions in a round depends on the difficulty of the questions.
I am student from BMS bengaluru . I am in 2nd year right now . Can you give me a roadmap to geta job in google... Currently I am learning Java and will start DSA within a week , after that I want to do Web Development . PLease give me your valuable tips. Thank you
how much does the prior job experience mattered? does the scale of past projects matters? I mostly worked on small scale application so i am bit skeptical of the impression it will give (L3/L4)
Prior job experience matters for L4 and higher roles. There is a certain minimum limit on yoe for each of these roles. If you have worked on scaled projects, it improves your chances of getting shortlisted for the role.
@@turningturing9217 I got the interview call but I am not sure how to present the small scale projects
Does taking a long time between the recruiter call and the first interview affect the chances of getting selected ? Like the position getting filled or getting lesser preference than other candidates ?
Mostly hiring in Google is not done for specific projects, you will be hired for a role and then matched with a project after the interviews. Since, new projects and openings keep coming up, you will most likely find a match even later. Taking time for preparation does not impact the feedback, in my opinion you should never go underprepared.
@@turningturing9217 I may have made a mistake then : ) ; I thought that since I was approached by them it was likely that there is some kind of hiring push going on, so taking too long would decrease the chances (as roles might get filled faster). Another reason was that if I took 2 months, my prep would have been slower and I would have got diminishing return. Anyways, thanks for these videos. I am aiming to get v. good at medium questions and thinking clearly and through before coding so that I can take help of the interviewer in hard questions when stuck

For Google Leetcode list , what timeline did you choose? Last 2 year or last 1 year?
I focussed on latest ones, in order to get an idea about what type of questions are being asked these days. It is just a good metric to judge the importance of different topics, but do not expect to get same questions again.

Which college are you from bhaiya ?

Appreciate it man, I have made these changes
I want to crack internship off campus can you suggest me mostly ask probability problem level imo or graduate level probability need
Probability questions mostly focus on Combinatorics, Conditional Probability, Bayes Theorem, Binomial equation. So the concepts are easy, just the questions are a bit tricky. If you understand the concept, you'll be able to solve.
Keep up the good work! :) this is really helpful

Scheduled my first interview after 3 months. I am shitting bricks rn
When is your first interview?
@@turningturing9217 they skipped my phone screen. I'll be having 2 on sites, one domain specific and one Googlyness round. I provided a tentative date of 6 Nov and recruiter agreed.
Great! all the best. There are generally 3 tech and 1 googlyness.
Hi, I would like to have one paid mentoring session with you. So, may I know do you provide such services? Ex.via topmate etc.
Hey, we can schedule one on Google meets!
Hi Brother, I will be having my Technical Phone in next week. I learned all concepts of graph, trees, binary search and dp but do not feel confident while solving problems. What should i do to have more confidence while solving problems.
The only solution is practise, competitive programming website or practice website like leetcode. One trick to identify which DSA can be applied, try to cycle through all the concepts you know and see which can be applied. Once you know which algo to apply, it becomes easier to solve.
How did it go
Hi , which IDE you used in interview and is there any default test cases like leet code ? Before submitting answer , can we run the code (like in leet code ) ?
There is no IDE, you have to code on Google docs. They try to simulate the white board coding experience. There are no default cases, you have to think all the test cases and do a dry run yourself. Make sure that you cover some basic happy cases and all the corner cases.
Bhaiya can you tell me if a tier 3 student can crack these interviews if he works very hard during his clg ?
Yup easily, product companies do not have the concept of tiers. If you have strong fundamentals and programming skills, you can easily get into a very good product company. Just make sure that you have some good achievements or internship experiences or projects to put on your resume.
@@turningturing9217 Ok bhaiya , i will work hard
Can we use google or stackoverflow or other resource while in the coding interview?
Usually you can use online resources to confirm syntax and language specific stuff but not conceptual information. Rarely interviewers give you time to go online and read conceptual resources.
What was the level of dsa questions? were they of cp level or leetcode level? if leetcode then medium or hard?
In codeforce terminology, you can expect questions similar to div 1 B/C level problems. In leetcode terms, you can expect medium and hard (rare) level problems. I highly recommend practicing Medium level problems, and Hard level if time permits.
@@turningturing9217Man div 1 B/C in cf would be already 2200-2500 level are they really that hard? That would be painful then 😅
Sorry, missed your comment. B are usually medium level problems, C can be hard true.
Hi, How much experience required for this position?
3 YOE is the ideal case, but you can try with 2 YOE as well.
@@turningturing9217 actually i am from service based company and i graduate with bcom so can I eligible
I am not sure, you would have to ask the specific recruiter.
