Have dropped off supplies to different locations but currently looking to help serve as volunteer in one of those locations that you mentioned where church members were providing assistance to fire victims. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has assigned its Emergency Response team to work with the California authorities in providing service and aid to all who are involved in this catastrophic event. I'm not sure if this video was meant to be an anti church video or not, but obviously the provider did not do enough research to give a full report. My thinking is this... 1- These areas do not need anymore people in the affected areas. 2- There are large areas set up that are already providing clothes, food and other necessities for the misplaced families. So, it's not like the influence of the LDS Church is not there, IT IS! Just not in the same ways that have been seen during other disasters around the world.

There's too many negative comments here so I'll add a positive one. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Serving others, like the guy in the video spoke of, is an amazing thing to do. It's one of the things that missionaries do, along with sharing the gospel.

I'm an artist, and I've seen this man's death mask, and while the digital revisionist image of Joseph Smith's face may have the same relative shape from his cheekbones down, that is not Joseph Smith. Joseph Smith had a receiving hairline, slightly bulging eyes, a big ass beak, a slight overbite, and a weak receding chin, encompassed by an egg-shaped head. If you have trouble of picturing that, look up the movie by Disney I think it was in the late '50s early '60s of sleepy hollow, and look at the character they drew for Ichabod Crane. with the exception of the hair and the bony body, you'll have some general picture of what Joseph Smith looked like.

Mantra meditation benefited me 10 times more than the Mormon church did. I thought thinking of spiritual things was meditation until I read the book Meditation for Dummies by Stephan Bodian. I learned mantra meditation from this book, and mantra meditation made it 10 times easier to be a loving and charitable person than reading the scriptures and going to church did. The Book of Mormon constantly threatens people with hell and damnation if they don't perfectly follow god's commands. My definition of hell and damnation is a mind that has not practiced mantra meditation.

Thank you for seeing that we are all imperfect people in a very dark, evil, and imperfect world. I have a degree in Literature from Cal State San Bernardino and a Masters in Education from Chapman University. I love being a member and have seen and read all the anti-LDS church propaganda; my take is that we all have a crisis of faith at one point or another. Meaning, some were bound to leave for a,b, and c. As a convert that met my husband of 40 years at my baptism, have gone to every religion for at least 3 months; mostly, I was asked to leave because I questioned the leaders and being the cheeky kid I was; well let’s just say they would call the parental units and aske them not to drop me off, ever again. I am a bibliophile, it isn’t a dirty word, but simply means a love so deep for books, one owns their own library, card catalog, and uses the dewie decimal system. I have been reading stimce I was five years old and have read all the creation and flood myths from every culture. Being a literature major means I love to learn about others cultures and the religions that asked me to leave, well I guess they didn’t take enough philosophy and sociology classes. If they did, they would be from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I have watched many walk away, they start drinking, get nose rings, and slamming the church because from the comfortable bed in the 21st century it is easy to tear apart people doing take best in a life filled with pot holes. These people left because the church does ask for all of us to step up and help in one way or another; pampered Americans under 30, whom lived in a wonderful Christ centered home with two loving parents are not used to reality. I believe in free agency and I know Christ is coming back sooner than anyone will believe. So buckle up boys, its about to get bumpy! When anyone asks me to describe being LDS, this what I say, “Take the best of every religion and you have The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.” I have been given too many blessings, my husband’s father who passed away the day after our daughter had triplets. He comes to me and tells me,”I’ve been trying to get ahold of my son, but he is denser that a pile of brinks.” Priceless, they were mason contractors and he comes and speaks to me because he knows I feel and hear him. I had pancreatic cancer, and through a series of events and hiccups in a friend’s life. Her husband was in a completely different state when he said, “I cannot get my patriarchal blessing and Annette out of my mind. Is something going on?” She told him that I was told to bring a bag for a two week stay in the hospital; after the biopsies and confirmation the polyp in my bile duct, large mass on my pancreas and gallbladder filled with sludge, they would take her from one OR to another to have my gallbladder, polyp, and pancreas removed. My friend’s husband has the gift of healing and he would be home on the Friday before the Monday. We went to their home early Sunday evening, had dinner, and received a blessing from him. The next morning at 4AM my husband gave me another blessing. When the doctor who did the biopsies came to speak to my husband he said, “Um, I don’t even know what to say. I looked over your wife’s reports last night, before she entered my OR I took another look. Three microscopes all a nice neat row. I was put out and when I awoke, I was in recovery. My husband had a huge smile on his good looking face. “Sweetie, the doctor and PA’s couldn’t find anything; infact, the organs they could see looked like that of late teen early 20 year old. The doctor said he had the nurse bring all the tests to him and he has never seen anything like it! I was groggy and said, “I just needed to touch his hem in my minds eye. It’s the last thought I had, prior to being put out. People make mistakes; Abraham, David, Solomon all made huge mistakes, yet their story is forever embedded in the Kimg James Bible. I think people just figure it’s easier to leave than stay. I hope they realize the great and terrible day of the Lord is within 10 years. Moses has a speaking issue, Jonah way in a whale, Joseph Smith was tarred and feathered and his two newborn twins died. Who would continue doing what he did and loose it all? Yes, Heavenly Father repeatedly told Joseph to tell Emma about his part in polygamy. How could he hurt her more and especially after all their children’s deaths, being jailed. He and Hyrum thought it a good idea to burn the printing place down, so Emma wouldn’t find out that way. We have been told when a prophet starts down a path that is NOT the will of our Heavenly Father He will take that prophet from the people and church. Joseph and Hyrum Smith died martyrs. All these people whose faith is wained have instant tv, movies, and food. They are looking back at a man with barely a 3rd grade education doing the best he could. Shame on anyone that looks at any prophet and leaves the church. It was just an easy excuse. I have never met a person that has left the church whom is truly happy. Let them say and do as they please but we are 2 seconds to midnight and will you translate or burn?

Pastor Jeff is not God's prophet, he has different calling to serve in preparatory role. He has not had these greater gifts revealed to him at this time. He is limited in his understanding bc it is still veiled to him. I wish he would just continue to teach what he knows to be true, as to what God has revealed to him and not worry about higher laws. This is the major struggle of different branches of Christianity, it isn't necessary. Live and teach what you know to be true and stay within those bounds, you have power in teaching the truths God has revealed to you individually. May we continue to encourage each other to maintain our faith bc the spiritual storms are going to increase each day we get closer to the 2nd coming. We should be standing back to back and not arguing/debating over doctrine. The Savior loves us all and we all need to follow in his footsteps. Let us all lift where we are with what we know.

...things are changing as we get closer to the Savior's return...i just remember first moving to Utah from joining the Church as a young adult out east, & noticed people did seem to be very exclusionary - due to doing things only with their "eternal" family...to the exclusion of all others - taking it to a level of seeming "worship" of family...i was without family who were members of the Church so i was very sensitive to not being included or invited because i was not "family"...that was back around 2011...one day driving around Springville, Utah, & seeing Pioneer Day picnics in almost every yard - but without "family" i was unimportant...or at least, uninvited or thought of...in NC, if there were people w/o family they BECAME our focus, to make SURE everyone had somewhere to go on holidays & such...didn't happen there...at that time, in my experience...that has a little to do with GOD'S instructions & blessing us all with marriages that last forever...but we are ALL FAMILY IN CHRIST ...so we SHOULD treat EVERYONE AS SUCH...

You should be far more concerned that the author never received an answer to his honest questions and got excommunicated instead. When others read the letter and dig into why Jeremy was asking those questions, the vast majority leave. Every video I’ve watched here on TH-cam claiming to debunk the letter are all personal attacks. How does anyone debunk a letter that was just asking a bunch of questions? It’s entertaining and completely ridiculous.

Do you believe what Ephesians 2:8 and Romans 5:2 says which says you are saved through faith or by being a member of the lds church and doing all the things associated with that membership?

Christian’s don’t worship the resurrection. We celebrate it, because it’s the resurrection that gives true believers eternal life. Like Paul says, if Christ wasn’t resurrected, our faith is in vain. The resurrection gives us hope for eternal life with God. That’s what we look to. Relationship with God, not eternal relationship with our spouse.
