      I honestly don't use the touch feature as much as I thought I would. I set up my cintiq well enough to not need the touch feature so I could have saved some money. In my honest opinion, I would go without the touch feature and use that extra money on something else you could benefit from.

    Great video, i've tried astropad and sidecar for zbrush/blender3d. The problem is i can't do right click using apple pencil. Normally the right click is done by press 'ctrl' and LMB but it only works on mac desktop/finder etc. The ctrl + LMB won't work inside app like Zbrush or Blender. Do you have a solution ?

    • @bmagart9025

      josiah cracraft sidecar gives you the mirroring and secondary display capability which gives it the edge between the two. However, Astropad is more creative friendly since you’ll be able to access Astropad’s shortcut tool menu interface for apps like Zbrush and Photoshop. It’s definitely a win on both ends since you’ll still have access to the iPad as a drawing tablet.

    i am completely new to this and wanting to learn to sculpt and 3d print. I’m thinking of doing the mac mini and ipad pro both 2020 versions and using a Samsung monitor. seems like it will be great but i’m nervous about buying everything and something not working. this is the closest video i’ve seen to the setup i’m wanting. Balaji C it all depends on the WiFi connection when using Astropad. I’m at the low end of the tip of internet in my area and apps like Zbrush will rarely ever lag when I’m painting or sculpting. My experience so far when sculpting with zbrush has been really good to almost perfect. I’m sure someone with a stronger connection will have a flawless experience

    Compare it to the cintiq in terms of drawing experience please

    • @bmagart9025
      @bmagart9025 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Archate in terms of drawing experience, I use the cintiq with a powerful MacBook Pro and photoshop so I’d without question prefer to work on it as my primary. There is no input lag and the canvas space I get from it obviously gives it the real advantage. Additionally, the Wacom pen tips and matted canvas gives a smooth pencil to paper feel. The iPad Pro on the other hand is similar when it comes to drawing recognition, but you don’t get the natural pencil tip and paper feel as compared to the cintiq, but you can pick up a matted screen protector to make it almost similar to the paper feel. Regardless the iPad Pro is a must as you can take it with you anywhere and start on rough drafts, concepts and layout the first ideas of your work. I’ve put in a few days into the iPad Pro and can honestly say that I can render complete production work on it if I had to.

      I have multiple drawing gloves and i can say that they won't prevent the hand from sensing when touch is on regardless. The best option is to leave touch off. The point he was making was that touch recognizes the palm when touch is on even though the Cintiqs are not supposed to. Currently there are no drawing gloves that will prevent your palm from being recognized. Please let us know if you happen to know of any if so.

    This issue happens also on the cintiq pro 16 . At the end I turn the touch feature off and now only use it only when surfing the web and photos. I have heard that the artist glove would solve the issue of palm rejection but base on the review on Amazon, still seems not much of success. Anyone can recommend any glove or something??

    I've owned a few iterations of Cintiqs (touch and non-touch) now, and as soon as I saw your video I got a little salty. Then I realized that maybe you are just unaware of certain things about these products and that my knee jerk reaction was ignorant. I'll start by saying that you really should be using a glove. (A proper glove will even clean the screen for you while you draw! :)) The next thing is the touch settings. I don't know what your settings are but they are very obviously out of whack. I know most consumers feel that default settings should cover most bases out of the box but this is a specialty product designed for a narrow demographic. There are so many settings between the unit, the operating system, the express remote and the software you are using, that it can take a full day to set everything up properly and to your individual tastes. Workflow is paramount in creativity and getting sidetracked with errors and lag and extraneous dots on the screen are hyper frustrating when you are trying to create. It just RUINS your flow. That being said, setting your tablet up is as individual to the user as the art that they are creating. Take the time to go through everything you can think of and then try some forums to see what others are doing. On a tangential note, I read one of the comments below and agree that you should give Clip Studio a try. it's an amazing program and many artists are making the switch. It's more intuitive, lighter system load and as full featured as PS without the monthly price tag. I wish you good luck!

  • @MarkOakleyComics
    @MarkOakleyComics 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I strongly recommend, (if you haven't already tried), that you use Clip Studio Paint. -It's very affordable, and lightyears ahead of Photoshop in terms of pen/brush interface dynamics, and its touch interface is simply excellent, with pinch zoom and rotate working as you would expect they should. (I'm working on a Dell Canvas 27). Adobe Photoshop is simply an old dog (with lots of wisdom and loyalty and all that good stuff), -but it's not so nimble with the frisbee catching these days. Anyway, thanks for the video!

    • @bmagart9025
      @bmagart9025 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mark Oakley I never gave Clip Studio Paint a chance. I’ll definitely download a trial version and see how it flows. I’m so used to Photoshop that it’s second nature to me. Also Corel Painter is my other go to when I need another a simple painting interface. Thanks for the suggestion!

      Hi, I would like to ask you; Dell Canvas screen is paper-like ??????????

    • @MarkOakleyComics
      @MarkOakleyComics 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@edenpernia4240 The screen is ground glass, so it has a bit of a mat finish, but the grind is so fine, it doesn't distort the image. It doesn't feel exactly like paper, (what does?), but it does offer a nice resistance to the stylus tip.

  • @ZumiDraws
    @ZumiDraws 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    The cintiq will only reject your palm when the pen is near enough the screen so it can register it. It's typically around 2 cm above the screen. You see when it registers the pen when the cursor is following the pen. If you touch the screen with your palm before it registers the pen, it will make a stroke or a dot. After some time you will develop a habit of placing your hand with the pen automatically at the right hover distance since you will be looking for the cursor to jump under the pen anyway. Otherwise disable touch like most people do while drawing.

    • @bmagart9025
      @bmagart9025 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for sharing that. Yeah, unlike the intuous Pro, you’re able to place your palm before the pen with no marks. I never had this issue with the old Cintiq 22 inch also. Im sure it could be the way I place my palm on the screen that is unorthodox compared to the normal person. My fix was investing in the microfiber drawing glove to prevent my weirdly shaped hand from being recognized as a pen. Cheers!
