Great idea! I’m wondering if you have something like this in mind? Screenshot from the share menu or standalone. Standalobe version can be triggered by Siri or from action button on newer phones. Takes a screenshot, extracts text, makes thumbnail. @@AppleEDC most clips I save are from screenshotting and cropping app screens and web pages. I then copy the results and paste in the destination. Or I go through sharesheet if the destination is easily accessed from the sharesheet.

I’m 73 and that’s one of the reasons I’m making these TH-cam videos. Thanks for watching.

Thanks for watching and for your kind note. It takes a little getting used to especially trying to write them on a mobile device, but after a while, it all starts to make sense. Apple will be expanding functionality of the whole Shortcuts framework and is encouraging developers to include shortcuts in their applications, so I think we’re going to see some cool features as time goes by.

@@AppleEDC Yes! PDF very helpful. I was thinking that I would like the option to take more than 1 photo to attach to my note. I like saving as thumbnail as it saves space. I notice that the setting you have is “TAKE 1 PHOTO WITH BACK CAMERA”. Can this be set for an optional number of photos and not a set number? The way I have been doing this is first I use your shortcut…then I open the resulting note and attach more (non-thumbnail) photos. Thank you for your help!

I’m a real klutz with watches and even though my Apple ultra two is really rugged I have a screen protector and a bumper on it. Since I’m a little bit older, I take advantage of health and safety features like fall protection, so I like to have it on when I’m doing grungy work like painting or yardwork. I just use a plastic bag I found on Amazon and add some Velcro strips to it as an extra layer of protection. it’s come in handy a couple of times and it keeps the watch from getting all grungy. the plastic bag I’m using is two mil but I’ve got an order in for some four mill. My plan is to make a video about these in the near future. Thanks for watching.

I think it is possible. I just haven’t played around with linking notes yet. That’s a great idea and if I can figure it out, I’ll let you know and maybe try a video.

Scan does not extract text. It does not resize images, it does not set optional reminders. It does not write tags.

A couple of reasons that happened to work for me include having a way to shrink the size of the photo and to automatically put a tag on it so I can find it later. Thanks for watching them for your comment.

I think you’re right! I’m still trying to work out a workflow that would allow me to do both. I’ll look into the reminder idea to see if that’s possible. Thanks again for watching in for helping me figure this all out.

@@AppleEDC That worked well! Although it’s slightly different than the share sheet integration from camera roll selection that I really want to get up and running.

I don’t think there is a action specific to a list item in notes. However, I have a note I named to do list that I have used as a simple task list and I made a shortcut to pull that note up so that I can add or or Check off items. If that will help, I’ll be glad to make a video about it. Thanks again for watching.

The shortcuts app looks with iOS 18 and they’ve changed favorites to pinned notes. It’s actually a lot cleaner I hope this video helps. There are no table actions or “items” action that I can find for notes, but there may be a work-around. I did see some actions for the Trello app but that’s a third party solution. I’ll see what I can come up with for a work around. Thanks for watching and for this great suggestion. Best, JD.

At the present time I’m not set up to provide the actual shortcut files. This is partly due to security concerns and partly because I am considering a business model. @@AppleEDC Thank you for the reply. The issue I seem to have is when I move the "Find Notes" into the shortcut it changes to "Filter" which does not allow me to select the parameters for it to search. IOS17.4.1

My apologies and thanks for your support! Once you are in the shortcuts application, type in first few letters of the action you are looking for. Once you find it, tap on the info icon, that’s the “i” with a circle around it. Then tap the favorites icon, and that action will be added to the favorites group. I’ll make a short video on this as soon as I can. Thanks again.
