having seen the clip of richard harris on conan talking about drinking with o'toole. i needed to see this. man, these actors back then took drinking to a new level and all of them rock stars from the 70s and 80s for all of the drugs and booze they did are child's play compared to what these guys did. yet they did with class. then there's the 1920s and well..... yeah, no one will top that.
Peter was like your very very very favorite Irish uncle who you would go visit, buy his booze and his cigars, spend hours talking and talking, and then come back the next week. Lovely, and ultra talented man who blessed us all with his divine presence in life
I’m sorry but this is ultimately very sad because alcohol really ravaged him imagine if he would’ve been like Anthony Hopkins, and quit 30 or 40 years earlier
He was so amasing, one of the best actors ever and his legendary drinker friends as well Richard Burton, Richard Harris, Finchey as well great actors and legendary drinkers they never get aggressiv
What a class act of a man.
Even at that age, he was absolutely adorable.
I loved Peter O'Toole. He was a brilliant actor.

a story every grandfather should tell..... LOL!! So great
Spike Milligan's tombstone was best "I told you I was ill".
An amazing actor and sadly missed R.I.P. 🙏🏻
In tea and coffee, whiskey doesn't count!
What a lovely guy. And a brilliant raconteur
I watch this clip often…it keeps me young😂

Peter could’ve been a stand up comic if he wanted to. Brilliant sense of humor and excellent sense of comic timing.
An absolute genius... One day with him must have been like a full time course on getting most of your life 😂
Folks. This fine man is the definition of a GENTLEMAN and to make it even worst he has the voice of a KING
All of his stories were lies.
great story teller
What amazing is that he was born 2 years before the real t.e lawrence died
What a party! Harris, O’Toole, Ried, Burton! 🥃🥃
Class actor
The eloquence and poise with which this man delivers this story. What a tremendous talent.
I would love to know if he actually had it put on his tombstone

Storytelling at its finest - never hurried, never gets old.
I want the same thing on my tombstone 🪦
Who has wit like this today? Name one actor.
At 3:12, that laugh, he's back in that bar!
R I P PETER YOU ARE SO MUCH MISSED !! GREAT ACTOR WITH BEAUTIFUL VOICE AND GREAT SENCE OF HUMOUR !!! DAVID WAS V FOND OF HIM !!!
Could imagine been on the lash in Dublin and running into them guys along with Harris
He looks like the Joker in his twilight years after they sorted out medications he needed to be on.
Drinking a double sherry as I watch this. Cheers O'Toole 🥂
This has to be the best interview ever made in any late night
Legendary interview
"It distresses us to return work which is not perfect." Brilliant epitaph!
I think O'toole was originally a deep intellect who became an actor and then drank himself mostly into oblivion. But...there was in fact a war on.
Most eloquent young man, who lived his life.
It distress us to return work which is not perfect
🌹 🙏🏻 🇮🇪 🍻
Fantastic chap real character
Where is the great actor/raconteur/storyteller of this generation, im afraid the era has gone for good.
There's only one thing I'd like to know about O'Toole's private life. Did he love "Father Ted" as much as I do?
