I am grateful to have you here! I am here to work on things, usually while learning a lot myself in the process. I would like to do my best to provide insight for newer people like myself, while exploring some fun ideas. I focus on cars and trucks, some times I am building my own project, other times I am working on fixing a car to see if I can get it back on the road safely!
Discovering Snow and Lights on a Journey Through North Branch on the XR150L
In this video I set out to just do some riding on the XR150L in and around North Branch. I decided to try and find some Christmas light displays and I did come across some pretty nice ones! I also came across a road that hadn't been fully plowed and I spent some time driving back and forth along it. The XR did great I think, considering the stock tires and everything else pretty much, I would say it did great.
Riding this bike is some of the most fun a person can have, and I look forward to riding around when I can have a few less layers of gear on!

Breathbox In The Bell Qualifier Helmet Installation
มุมมอง 148หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video I pop in a breath box in my Bell Qualifier helmet. I think it will work great in the cold weather we have to help reduce fogging on my visor that happens almost instantly now. It will also help keep my head warmer while riding, a real win win! A lot of helmets have all sorts of options, I found this by searching around online after ordering a chin draft blocker thing that did a gr...
A Quiet Ride to Deliver Some Mail When it is Barely Above Zero!
มุมมอง 49หลายเดือนก่อน
I take a short ride in some cold weather on my XR150L. My folks asked me to deliver some mail and I thought it would be the perfect chance to try out my Hippo Hands. They did an awesome job, and I used some heated socks that also made thing much better. I am working on finding a way to keep my feet warm without batteries but in the mean time, its working awesome. I also recently added a Pinlock...
16 Degrees Out? Let's Go For A Ride On The XR150L!
มุมมอง 87หลายเดือนก่อน
In this video I take a short trip to Hinkley, MN where they have a neat casino and hotel. It is about 40 miles to get there, and it is well below freezing! This trip is my longest yet, and I look forward to taking some real trips this winter. I am still working on getting gear that will keep me warm for an extended period of time, but it was a lot of fun anyways. The XR150L started up alright w...
Riding the XR150L in the first snow of the year!
มุมมอง 4142 หลายเดือนก่อน
I had a great time riding around in the first snow of the year. It was a lot of fun! I have ambitions to camp this winter and have been working on developing the appropriate gear for it. My gloves and boots did not do well, but the Alpinestar jacket did a great job! I look forward to more riding, I suspect it will be more fun when its not as wet. I have a new mount now for my helmet so in the f...
Getting ready to get a Honda XR150!

I recently purchased a Honda XR150L and in this video I set up a newly purchased hitch mounted carrier for the bike, and go get it. I also talk a bit about my future plans. I am not an experienced rider at all, and am using this as a tool to learn on. It has been very fun and I look forward to sharing more about the bike and about Minnesota in the near future. I think the XR150 L is a great bik...

Nothing to outrageous here just an update on how the Dodge Ram is going. I've assembled the rear end and have most of the brakes ready I just need to finish the lines and get them bled, now I got to work on the interior I have the seats out they need to be cleaned really bad and then I got to figure out what I'm going to do with the box. That massive dent it's going to need a lot more than some...
Can't Dodge All The Problems This Ram Has! 2008 Ram Project Rear Diff is Toast!
มุมมอง 24ปีที่แล้ว
Spent some time working on the Dodge Ram today and I cracked open the rear differential and notice that it is full of metal! On top of swapping out the axle it looks like I'll have to rebuild the new one and it's also going to need new brakes as well, the project is coming along but it's certainly more work than I was anticipating! As always I'm glad to have you following along I hope you get a...

Did u change master cylinder??!!
Nope, everything just kind of bolted right on, it worked out really well! Thanks for watching!
Did u change master cylinder??!!
I have family in that area and I also swing my legs like that.🤣
It is just fun to do! This area is great, all the fun of the cities is only about an hour away but here its pretty rural and turns to fields of corn and sod pretty fast.
@suitandtiedye yeah definitely! I used to live in the city and have family just north of there a ways.
If you don’t mind me asking, did you drill your own holes for the pinlock or do they sell a pin lock ready visor? If they sell a pinlock ready visor (that I haven’t seen) do they have one with protint?
When I ordered the pinlock it actually came with an additional visor with the lock points already installed, the only thing needed is to adjust it a little bit to make it perfect, which I'm still getting the hang of! For the Qualifier Helmet I had to order mine from an awesome place in Italy named Burn Out Motor. I did not see any with tint on them though, they probably exist, but I had such a hard time finding one to start with I was just glad to get it at all! Thank you so much for watching!
That’s cool, hopefully it helps.😎👍 I use a mask and that helps a lot.
I have the full over the head thing on and it does make a huge difference too!
That’s a cold ride!!🥶
Your not wrong, but it is so fun to be out riding I just cant stop!
@suitandtiedye I don’t blame you! I’ve ridden in the snow a few times. I like drifting in the snow.
nice. would love more vids on your bike. looking to get the xr150l as well soon
Thank you so much for watching, I just dropped another video!
That sticker sure is dangerous but boy do I love Fig Newtons!😂
Muffs will chage the game for ya! Got the same handguards on my DR650. As far as a bike that will do it all pretty decent, and afforable are the Japanese 650s. I own the DR after extensive research and after owning my XR150L for a year. I am 5'10 and it feels great, commute on it daily, and can do trails etc. Build it into anything, with tons of aftermarket. KLR is more road worthy, DR is middle of the road, and XR is most off-road capable and tall.
I definitely see one of those bikes in my future, and I am super excited for the muffs to show up I have hear they are really helpful. Thanks for checking the video out!
Sure beats sitting on the couch watching it snow. 💯
You seem like a chill guy. Absolutely love the snowy vibes. If at all possible it'd be great if you could mount your camera on your helmet or higher up on my jacket to let us see a little more. Not sure where you're at but seems beautiful. Keep it up and enjoy the rides to come :)
I totally agree! I put a mount on my helmet just the other day, and I am very excited to get some footage out while using it! Thanks for checking it out!
These bikes typically have a hard time starting because they set the idle too low. I turned my idle up a little bit and that made starting it and taking off from stops a lot easier. Hope this helps. Last year I used battery powered heated gloves and they worked really well but the bike definitely doesn’t like running more electricity. Even the wideband gauge I have will eventually use the battery up.
If you put #xr150l in the description of your video then you will be more likely to just reach Xr owners. Great video though! I’ll watch it a couple of times to help the algorithm send it to more people. That’s very cool that you’re in MN. I used to live in NE Minneapolis.
Dusty your an incredible person thank you so much man!
@@suitandtiedye you’re welcome! Thanks for the compliment! Glad to help. Your MN accent reminds me of being a kid living in NE Minneapolis.
Yes, what Dusty said. Also make sure you... Turn on key, wait 20 seconds, put on half choke, and press push start as well as cracking throttle just a bit. Should start right up, especially after tweaking the idle air screw. Then switch to no choke after 30 seconds or so . I went up 2 sizes on main jet as well. Mine is stock minus that. I have tried lots of different combos though. Check out the TUSK hand muffs for winter... $40. I'm about to get em.
@ those look rad! If only they were battery heated.
🤣❄️
Very cool!😎👍
Thanks man
My gear selector bolts came loose and now my gear selector isn’t properly lined up with the bolts, it won’t go into 1st or park, and the area where the bolts are is too tight for me to get both hands in there and adjust it
Which mazda model are we taking here.
How is it holding up two years later?
You are a newb.
The volume is too low, dude!
I would have never guessed 👍
What year is it? The ranger
Looks like it's for the long box, Ford making extra parts, Mazda had the right design all along
Best part is wheels are fresh 😂
How long was the Plasti Dip on before you removed it. Comes off fairly easily.
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾Thanks.. I have the same car in the same color but Coupe version 💯
Did you have to remove the axel nut ? I watched other videos and they all say to remove acel nut or destroy the seal for axel on transmission side.
I hope you didn't use rubberized undercoating ! That's the worst thing to use. It holds the moisture under it. Just get a cheap undercoating gun and spray bar and chain oil on it
Where’s the repair videos showing how you do the work? 🤦🏻🌎🤔
Wait what is that i am currently a practicing to be a car mechanic
Those pieces in there are part of the limited slip clutch pack in the differential, about 20 slim discs make up the clutch pack and one of them broke, fortunately didn't get stuck in the spider gears or the whole rear end would likely be toast!
Horrible music
Awesome I really appreciate the feedback!
Awesome. I've got a 94, same first gen extended cab... I'm doing the same thing. Got to build a shelf to stabilize the subwoofer box. Well done. I'll end up putting the amp under the shelf... perfect little pocket for it. Good times!
I'm reading that the Explorer axles have a 1 inch wider track. Is that true?
Yes it is! It hasn't been an issue for me but I have kept everything pretty simple, I did have to grind out my rims to make them fit as the explorer axle has a larger Center Bore than the Ranger does.
@@suitandtiedye thanks for the reply. I’ll keep that in mind.
Some people's kids smh 🤦 haha nice project bro!
Would of? Wtf does that mean?
Haha you got me! Would have*
How does a 98 Explorer 8.8 have drum brakes? I think that is a pre-95.
The 98 Explorer Axle I used does indeed have disc brakes for its standard brakes, but is uses a drum brake set-up for the parking brake, pretty weird to me to!
Sorry, I see my mistake now. I mistook the parking brake for the older drum brake.
Looks like you went to a shorter shock to compensate for moving the shock mounts higher - what shock did you use?
The shock I used is actually the same I would of used if I hadn't swapped the axle out, Monro-Matic Plus 32235 is the part it looks like!
@@suitandtiedye the 32235 only has a 4.75" stroke and a S4 type mount on one end. The rear needs a shock with two L1 mounts.
I'd love to see how you solved the parking brake.
I have yet to solve that problem! I am actually going to be working on the Ranger this weekend, I will make that a priority right after I get the passenger door to shut properly again haha! Thanks for checking the video out! I will try to let you know when I have a solution for the parking brakes other than leaving it in gear all the time.
@@suitandtiedye The operation of the stick fird setup was a mystery to me fir some time. When I finally figured out how it works, I discovered that the Explorer RR ebrake cable was too short to simply swap clip hardware and connect to my Ranger ebrake cable. I solved it, but I'm not proud of my solution (looks janky).
you got the magikz bruh
grats on the lift bro 🤜
It is crazy man! I am psyched to get some work done on there, hopefully I should be less covered in dirt from laying on the ground while doing stuff! My only nice shirt is my Uncivil one now haha
Wooooooooooooooooo
Good Channel
Thank you that means a lot!
First like and comment, sweet. Good job with the truck man
Thank you! It has been a lot of learning but a lot of fun!
🤣🤣
What’s so funny
Air chisel hammer would get a lot of rust off, then a grinding wheel. You want as close to bare metal as possible.
I really appreciate the feedback! I took the box off the truck tonight and will pick up an air hammer tomorrow before tackling more of the rust, and hopefully get some better results!
@@suitandtiedye It knocks off the rust much quicker, especially if you use a strong rubber band to keep tension, then you don't have to push to get maximum result. There are videos on it. Really works fantastic. I look forward to another video. :)
Just bought a 97 ford ranger with the 2.3l today. I need to do the same to my frame, was thinking about taking the bed off to get better access for removing the old rust and painting.
Removing the bed is a great idea, I feel dumb that I haven't thought of that already! Looks like a few bolts, move the electrical stuff away from the taillights and disconnect the fuel filler tube, if I end up doing it I will put a video up with any issues or advice I might come up with!
Hey how well does this rust converter work 😊😅 I have a 99 ford ranger frame has surface rust but how well does this work 🤔 is this better than sanding the rust off?
