Maravilhoso ❤️
its quite sad. quite sad indeed, and even saying its sad is not enough to explain it.
Try a thesaurus?
I remember going there. When they did the first lighting for the memorial remembrance, you could’ve heard a pin drop. It was almost I don’t know religious I know I’m not, but reverence for sure.❤

What’ve they done to my city, ma?
Fragment of the history, I’m from 2022
played in the junior inline Olympics nationals in Fort Meyers, FL in 2001, was searching for anything regarding that and found this. pretty cool find
ADRIANA QUE TEMA !!!!!! GENIO JON TE AMO
Wish I could have experienced NYC in the 1960s. Every period in history is a unique time that will never happen again.
The ad guitar kelly label because collision phenotypically jail despite a dynamic football. female fertile, rough herring
I'm usually a big supporter of the YIMBY movement, building up, revitalizing neighborhoods, etc. but IMO the modern Times Square Disneyland dystopian Japan-inspired ad-apocalypse tourist trap is hideous. I'd rather risk getting stabbed and mugged but have it be the red light district of the 70s and 80s again.
What I remember about walking to school everyday in the area, was the Dog crap I stepped in it almost every other day. It was horrible. And the schools were behind those in Va. By a whole year.
I was 7 years old and living in this area in the basement of an Apartment building my father was it's Porter. I attended PS 125 or 123 ? Our building was two huge blocks down a side street. I remember you could see the Hudson Bay looking down the street in the distance and looking up two huge blocks was Broadway. The snow was still on the ground in the beginning of June 1960. And it was dirty Black. Looks about the same as when I was there. Oh Yeah ! I HATED IT. ESPECIALLY BEING FROM RICHMOND ,VA. WE MOVED BACK TO RICHMOND THAT JUNE IN 1960.
It's amazing just how much capitalism and cocaine can transform a city. Can I get an Amen?
Capitalism is just an economic system not a blueprint for “progress.” What does cocaine have to do with it?
I was 5 years old in 1960. I remember them colored sunglasses people wore in the film. They sold them in every drug store my parents bought them a pair when they would go on vacation back east. My parents always said back east but it was Texas.
Thats NOT 1961! At least 65'.
Ah esse JON LÁ EM CASA!🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣♥️♥️♥️💋💋🇧🇷
Before Bloomberg Disney and so called clean up
It’s so clean
The first video cam it was invented in 1975, how could they do it in 1961??
It was from a home movie camera 8 mm. There was also color film then for that. You are right about the video cam in 1975. Also in that year there was not yet home computer. In my home we had a console that was half television and half record player given to us by my uncle from his family.
I remember as a kid my dad bought a 8mm camera in the mid 1960's, so yeah, there was a way to shoot movies clips.
Top
The year both of my parents were born.
Can't imagine traffic ever being like that anywhere in the city let alone times square.
Haha what traffic!
That was just a slow moment. That doesn't mean that's how it always was. There's slow times today too, such as an early weekend morning, Xmas Day, etc.

thanks for the update, when going through my grandparents old tapes, i tried my best to guess the years... thank you! very interesting!
The Braniff sign actually went up in 1964, though Braniff itself vacated the area later in 1966 after this was filmed. The Coca-Cola "spectacular" was put up in December 1965. A shame in the shot with the Allied Chemical Tower (which actually opened in mid-'65 and which zipper was turned on before that), you couldn't see the sign on the SE corner of 43rd and Broadway - was WNBC-TV 4 / 660 AM still up, or did it come down? I know by mid-1966 they were gone from that block (though they would still have their sign on 42nd and Seventh Avenue through 1967). Thus I'd date this around early 1966. Also, around October 1965 was when the zipper atop the Bond Clothes building (which also housed the Criterion) was turned on again after a nearly 6-year period of mostly being off (except for the time in 1964 when "The Fall Of The Roman Empire" was playing at the DeMille Theatre and the zipper was promoting it), under the aegis of the Mutual Broadcasting System which, to make room for its logo on each end, took out 38 rows (532 bulbs) from the 44th Street side, and 33 rows (462 bulbs) from the 45th Street side, reducing the bulb count from 6,944 to 5,950. Until the middle of '66, the logo of Mutual's then-owner, 3M, was shown (in blue; afterwards it was covered up with a nondescript 'MBS' logo inside a black background).
Ay JON no sabría por dónde empezar mí vida, tienes TODOS los colores qué me gustan!!!! Pero inventaria nuevos mí cielo!! Sobré todo tu cuerpito ,🔥🔥🔥🔥
Música maravilhosa linda linda linda
This clip is actually from 1965 or 1966. My Fair Lady was playing in the Criterion Theater from late 1965 to mid 1966. The Braniff sign shown at the start of the film was installed only in Late 1965. An even bigger clue is at the very end. The video shows the Allied Chemical Tower, which wasn’t completed until late 1965.
very good eyes! - I didn't catch it until I saw the 1965 Oldsmobile Delta 88 enter about frame 0:22
Actually, the Allied Chemical Tower, while not completed until the middle of the year, saw operation of the zipper (which I designate "Mark II") commence in April of 1965. As for the Coca-Cola display on 47th Street, it was first activated (turned on) on Dec. 31, 1965. So definitely early 1966 for sure.
