This extraordinary synthesis of late-Romantic chromaticism and Schönberg-inherited dodecaphonic pantonality that is Berg‘s music from Wozzeck onwards - embodied in this love-song for "Der Tod und das Mädchen” -- for writing which he interrupted the orchestration of the Third Act of his ultimate masterpiece, Lulu --- I have listened to it so many times since the middle 60s, studied the score...... and yet what these empathic musicians have realised here miraculously reveals completely unheard-of depths in the melodic spiderweb and ..something of a profound and secret emotional intent - such as Berg always enclosed in his works, yet never told.

Brahms the legendary giant German Romantic Orthodox Protestant Christian on German Requiem or Nanie best excellent 👍 interpretation by the Berlin Philharmonic orchestra under Karajan and Abbado. God 🙏 is awesome infinitely higher than the classical music repertoire.
