Crusin Cavaliers
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 29 มิ.ย. 2019
We are Martin & Melissa along with our crazy little Cavalier King Charles Spaniel dogs Hailey & Maddie. We are embarking on the America's Great Loop on our boat Cavalier. America's Great Loop is a circumnavigation of the Eastern US. We are starting at Green Turtle Bay in Grand Rivers, KY. We will be cruising down the river systems to the Gulf of Mexico then around Florida, up the East Coast to New York City. From there we will head up the Hudson River into the Great Lakes and Canada and head South through Lake Michigan to Chicago, IL. We will take the river systems from there back to Green Turtle Bay where will have completed the loop and will be "crossing our wake" as they say. We welcome you to join us on this journey.

It was a lot of fun!
Little pub crawl there? Went to a software users group event there years ago. Only went to one bar. Shift change on stage. Girl coming off sitting a table sorting tips. Probably had $2K for 4 hours of work. Band that played after probably made more. Great time in a great city
Thanks for sharing, It's really nice to see some of the stops along the loop.
Not disappointed, but really wished it was a boat trip to Knoxville. Maybe on a game day and raft up with the Vol Navy. That would have been fun.
I understand however our boat was being worked on and not available for the trip.
From small beginnings Melissa, and look where you are now!
We are enjoying things for sure.
Hello from LaneyToons! We are headed your way and we are hoping to meet up and laugh some more about the glamour of yacht life.
Great! Can't wait to see you again and catch up!
She cleaned up nice.
@@BobEstler yes, she looks pretty good!
How much per foot do they charge for the bottom paint replacement?
I'm not quite sure. When we got the quote it seemed good compared to what other boaters told us. We've had a lot of different work done while we are here and we still need to get the itemized bill. I will let you know when we get it.
I just heard about you at an AGLA docktail for people (like us) who are going to start the Loop. We are in Pismo! We start out Loop in June - so we would love to connect with you because not many Left Coasters know anything about the Loop.
@@raymachurch4470 Pismo Beach! You will love the loop. Where are you starting? We plan to do it again this coming year. We are getting some work done at Green Turtle Bay right now and plan to go to the Aglca rendezvous this fall and head South! Would love to chat with you.
Saw A video yesterday with your boat in it I think at Green Tertile next to Freebird they are doing the loop backwards.
Yep that was us!
Safe travels.
That was a nice stop at Muscle Shoals! Lotta great music came out of there! Y'all did some smooth cruising on this video.
Thanks so much!
Nice scenery on the way to the locks. That was a pretty long lock that y'all went through. Enjoyed the video!
Yea, a floating wall sank at Wilson Lock 2 years ago. I've never gone through those 2 locks without a 5-6 hour wait. I'll share this video to neighbors to prove your story is not just a "Urban Legend".
We got lucky with a little planning but still very happy not to have the long wait!
LOL, your stovetop looks like mine when I cook. Only thing missing is the flour on the shirt and something on the floor!
Oh there was plenty on the floor 😂 Good thing we have dogs that take care of it 😂
Some good information.
Thank you for this episode I am saving this , this is great information..Awesome.
Glad you enjoyed it. Hopefully it was helpful.
Should have never put this out! Already bookmarked them and started looking at boats on MarineTraffic. I may never sleep again
Try to get some sleep 😂 hopefully this was helpful.
Chattanooga looks like a pretty fun place to visit. Lots to do! I would love to take the Chattanooga Duck tour. Looks like y'all had a good time.
It's a great city with lots to do. If you get the chance the duck tour was awesome!
My favorite part of the video was the visit to the aquarium.
The aquarium was amazing!
I was one of them from the Midwest who drove passed it on our way down to Florida when I was a kid. We saw all those billboards! "See Ruby Falls!" But I've never been. It looks really amazing! I had no idea!
We didn't even get to show all of it! It was amazing!
Wow! Rock City and Ruby Falls are interesting and beautiful places to visit. Never heard of those places. Thanks for sharing.
It was so beautiful there. We really enjoyed it!
Great video. Looks like an exciting place to explore. Best wishes
It was a very great place to explore!
Chattanooga looks like a pretty cool place. Glad y'all will be showing more of the place. I enjoyed the video!
Thank you, we loved it there and there is more to come.
Yay, Chattenooga! I haven’t even watched yet but I can’t wait! 😀
This is just the first one and we have more coming that should be better!

Is this video from last year?
No, we were just there a few weeks ago.
👍👍
Don't know what your delay is on releasing videos, but if still in Chattanooga or going back, ride the Incline up Lookout Mtn. Ends near Lookout Park overlooking Moccasin bend in the Tennessee Rvr and Chattanooga. Everyone goes to Rock City and Ruby Falls, but my favorite as a kid was riding the incline
We wanted to take that but it was closed when we were there. I think for maintenance or something. We were bummed but maybe next time. We will be back for sure.
I enjoyed the cruise in this video with the nice scenery, going under the bridges, and the slow motion going through Nickajack Lock.
Thank you Tmac!
Helpful information about the coolant!
Glad you liked it!
Great Video and explanation! Love it! So glad to have y'all in Chattanooga!
We love it here! We will have some Chattanooga videos soon.
That first lock is over 4000 feet long, and a hundred years old...In the Muscle Shoals City Hall, there are pictures from it's construction. Steam Locomotives and 3 timbers used as a crane, and man with shovel power. North Alabama is lovely country. I know, I live here.
That lock was huge! We really enjoyed Alabama and will be back.
I grew up on the Tennessee river in north Alabama. My best friends mom owns hobbs island right there at ditto landing.
We really enjoyed ditto island!
Big Tennessee volunteer fan. Need to go all the way to Knoxville!!!
I was born in Tennessee and my dad was a big volunteer fan as well. I don't think we will get to Knoxville this time but maybe the next time!
That was a really smooth cruise! I enjoyed watching it all go by! As always, some good drone footage!
Thank you, it was an easy couple of days!
Lake side of Wilson lock doesn't swing open. It drops down. It's the only lock I've ever been in that does that.
It was pretty cool.
Yes the first lock I think is the tallest lock east of the Rocky mountains. It's been a beautiful side trip!
Those were some big locks. Looks like the locks raised you up a bunch of feet also. That was some pretty country that you were cruising by. I enjoyed the video.
Florence was a nice stop with a nice marina...Martin did a great job with the drome of filming it. Lynyrd Skynyrd recorded some of their first albums at Muscle Shoals.
Thanks, it was a great stop. So many great musicians recorded there. Hopefully we can take a tour when we go back.
That was some rough and nasty weather while y'all were tied up at the marina. Bet y'all didn't sleep well that night!
We miss y'all
Those were nice homes on the river bank. Clifton's Bar and Grill looked like a nice watering hole to visit.
It was a fun and friendly restaurant.
That was a nice cruise. Liked the camera working going under the bridge...nice and clear! Nice drone work. Martin always does a great job working the drone.
Thanks 👍
Pickwick Lock - nailed it! 🎉
Yes, we felt kind of silly worrying about it so much but I guess that the experience of over 100 locks helped! They still make me nervous.
@@crusincavaliers7140 for me it’s docking!
Nice spot! And you’re right - Clifton has a fantastic menu!
Yes, we were really impressed with the bar/restaurant. The drinks were great, the food was great and the atmosphere was just really cool. We must have liked it because we ate there 3 nights in a row. And the people were really fun.
I like your videos have a good mix of river footage and commentary. Glad ya'll are making the best of the situation. I hope to be exploring the Tennesse river and starting the loop in 25. Take care and enjoy your self.
Thank you, you have to make the best of any situation. Good luck to you on your loop! It really is a trip of a lifetime. Enjoy!
I'm happy that y'all didn't have a bib repair bill.
Yes, we were very happy it wasn't something big. The best part is we are back on the move!
Question about the dogs. Can't imaging doing loop without 1+. Lost our 3 in the last 2 years that we'd had over 12-13 years. How do yours handle being on the boat. Mainly thinking about going up and down stairs (definitely not ladders). Ours were in the 40 to 50 lb range and would want them to go where they wanted, fly bridge, into cabin, front deck to bark at dolphin... Watched a lot of Scho and Jo with Ollie. She can pretty much get where she wants to go on the boat without help, except up or down from swim platform and seems to handle boat life pretty well. Just asking for your thoughts on it
One of the main things we were thinking about when buying the boat was how the dogs would get around. Our boat does not have ladders but does have stairs. The dogs are fine with them. We don't let them out on the bow because we don't have any kind of protection along the sides to keep them from falling off. They are sweet dogs but not the smartest 😂
Glad things worked out. Always learning something new with boats. Be well and best wishes to you guys.
Thank you, hopefully that was it and we will be on our way!
Glad all is well, safe travels
Thank you, hopefully tomorrow we continue!
