100, 709, & 702 waste no time leading FEC's hotshot 101 through Bunnell.
I was glad to see the EMD power before the GE invasion. The GE's look great but the EMD's sounded so much better.

Filmed on 04-03-2014 100 & 709 lead 202 through Bayard coming off the siding while a MOW crew worked the Main Line. They are almost to their destination of Bowden Yard. In about 7 months the GE invasion would begin.

The first BNSF powered oil train through Bangor, ME Power was BNSF 4649, 9723, 7589, & MEC 610 and pushers GMTX 3003 & MEC 330 Pushers were used from Northern Maine Jct to Old Town to help with the grade at Veazie. Sorry about the quality, I know not the best, but it is not very often BNSF power and let alone 6-axle power passes through Bangor, ME

    I have watched that train go by probably thousands of times as kid from the far end of the field to the right of the RR.. Always liked counting the cars..

    I love the FEC! Fast L-O-N-G trains! I live on the west coast of FL. CSX territory. Short slow trains. A 70 car train doing 40 mph is a big deal over here! The Tropicana Juice Train is usually about 22 cars! Big woop! A total snooze fest! Great video!

    I am surprised that MMA has a former BNSF locomotive. I've never seen anything like that up here before. I also learned they have a former Santa Fe locomotive, too.

      they bought 2ed had shit. them LMX units were on long term lease to Burlington Northern till the BNSF merger took place. For years they sat in Utica, NY at the Ex NYS&W shops where they were fixed up and sold off to MMA and Providence and Worchester Railroad.

    The cards are stacked against MMA. The US Bankruptcy Court has been asked to handle MMA's growing claims against the company. Those include damages, wrongful death lawsuits and personal injury claims. On top of that, MMA has between 200 and 1000 creditors. All of this equals more than what MMA is worth in assets. Their lawyer says if the company wants to emerge from bankruptcy, the company itself would have to be sold. I wouldn't be surprised if the company is liquidated.

    Oh Man that is not good. Feel so much for the people of that town. Reminds of the terrible derailment NS had here in SC killing about 15 do to Chlorine Gas tanks rupturing after a switch was left open in the wrong position. Except so many more in Canada. Just not good for the Railroad.

    djnp on ebay has a hand pump faucet that was supposed to have been sourced in Stetson, Maine. Supposed to be something to do with the railroad. Supposed to end (Aug 13, 201119:22:47 PDT) per the date stamp.

    Those were beams in those 65' gondolas and YEP they ake BNSF, CSX, and sometimes UP reefers.

    I recognize some cars on this train that would have been interchanged to New Brunswick Southern RR at Mattawamkeag......the white box cars stenciled with " perishables ", for sure. I see these cars often, as the NBSR main line passes by my house in New Brunswick.
