I was out for a drive in the late '70s and stopped to get gas at station on corner of PCH. Had noticed a gal swerving in and out of traffic several cars behind me. She walked up to me in the station and said "my name's Mamu, I have a car just like that but mine's an Alpine. I live on Old Topanga near the corner. Want to come see my car?" Followed her up there, where she told me, "I live in that Tipi and my brother lives in the water tank". She said she was a Magic Mamu, and she could throw a mean Tarot and carried on without a comma that she was someone I should know. She had a snake for a pet, and an amulet and she was breeding a dwarf but she wasn't done yet. She had gray-green skin and a doll with a pin. I told her she was all right but I couldn't come in (I couldn't come in right then . . . ). And so she wandered trough the flap of fur just like a shadow from the tomb she said her stereo was four-way and I'd just love it in her cocoon. Well, I was born to have adventure so I just followed in her steps right past her fuming incense stencher to where she hung her castanets. She stripped away her rancid poncho and laid out naked by the door. We, um, smoked till we were un-concho and were useless any more. Modified lyrics of Frank Zappa's Camarillo Brillo. Can't help but think of these things whenever I go up Topanga. 7:49 LOL

This was probably one of the most scariest drives of my entire life, and I’m not afraid of heights at all.

Thank you for sharing your experience, it means a lot! The mountains, hills and canyons of SoCal can be a challenge to drive. Add some traffic and it gets more complicated.

California state route 133 looks pretty through the San Joaquin Hills as a single lane road but travel from Laguna Beach to Irvine would be faster if California state route 133 was widen to a freeway from Pacific coast highway to the Laguna canyon road/ pavona intersection in Irvine where the freeway section currently ends south of interstate 405. Was California state route 133 ever intended to be a freeway from I-405 all the way to pacific coast highway in Laguna beach.

No, that route will never be a freeway. The surrounding land is protected as part of the Crystal Cove State Park. The area is a wildlife refuge, is covered in hiking trails and would be ruined by a huge road going to the beach. I love the natural beauty of Laguna Canyon and I hope they keep it as is.

Welcome back. One of your best with the scenery. And the choice of music was just phenominal. You really uplifted my Saturday. Thank you for that. I was particularly taken by the shots of the marine layer against the mountains. And I really did feel like a passenger in your car. I hope you have a spectacular week-end. I look forward to your next video.
