Varla Stones are great for going towards those Magetallow Candles too. I grabbed the one you can get in Vilverin while I was there, helped quite a bit :D

If memory serves, there's a small chance a humanoid will cease combat and accept surrender in Oblivion. But there's no surrender in Lightningese :( I'll be sure to keep an eye out for that detail during the Let's Play! Would be wild af if Mankar was actually a Dragonborn though.

I think Mankar can change himself from the knowledge of the Mysterium Xarxes, as his father and mother are both Bosmer, but Mankar is an Altmer, so he can probably make himself DB too. Also, while I don't think it's what happened, if what Dagon said was true, it's kind of like worshipping your creator, like how Lorkhan is a bad guy for tricking the Aedra, but if he didn't, Mundus and everyone living in it wouldn't have existed

Yeah, it was pretty awesome! It's hard to pinpoint a true final boss in The Institute. Shaun is a noncombatant and doesn't participate in the defense of the Invasion of the Institute; I'd say X6-88 is the closest thing to a final boss the Institute has to offer. Him, the Coursers, and those Synth!Gorillas. As for Fallout 1? The Master, as you said, is immobile so if I were to do a run as a Fallout 1 [super mutant] antagonist it'd for sure be Lieutenant. Speaking of Ulysses, I do have a fun video in mind for him. Gonna leave that as a surprise though :)

I've been thinking about doing some runs as Sarah. Always liked her and the fact that she dies offscreen in-between games bothered me quite a bit when I first found out. FNV would be pretty interesting as the Lyons Pride has officially been cut off from the rest of the Brotherhood and 4? Both scenarios you put out are for sure feasible. Sarah becoming the Minutemen General and rebuilding the Commonwealth as well as the Lyons Pride does sound really cool not gonna lie :)

@@MidlothianOdyssey Sarah is also one of the FO3 characters I like most, helped a lot by the fact that she actually *does something* to actively help you multiple times, both story wise and in actual combat, and faces danger with you head on rather than just going 'well, you go and handle it on your own kid, I'm too lazy to do it' like so many other quest givers, even if they're decent people. I think Sarah and Preston would get along very well. For the NV version-Sarah handling Jacobstown and Black Mountain would be very interesting, since she's used to the hostile supermutants in the Capital Wasteland, but the Jacobstown mutants and Black Mountain mutants can be peacefully resolved, and Lily would be a very interesting companion for Sarah to find and work with, same as it'd be interesting to see her work with Fawkes in FO3

Yeah, the design choices behind stuff like karma boosts/penalties are very hit or miss. How Bethesda coined that Rivet City quest as anything other than Very Evil is beyond me. Some of them are great and make perfect sense, then you got the ones that you listed as examples for Three Dog's contradictory commentary and it just kinda leaves the player scratching their heads. If anything, sending in someone like Fawkes or Charon to activate the Purifier should result in the player being called smart or some other likeminded praise since the choices are: 1) TLW dies 2) Sarah dies 3) wait around and the purifier explodes 4) no one dies

@@MidlothianOdyssey It's nice to see someone else call out that side quest for how disturbing and wrong it is, most of the time I see it mentioned it's either just in passing with a handwave of 'eh, it's kind of weird' or 'well, maybe she just used the aphrodisiac on herself to lure him in', but whether she used the ant queen pheromones on herself or drugged the guy, either way she is unilaterally deciding to ruin this guy's dreams of being a priest for her own selfish reasons and traumatizes the guy because he thinks he r*ped her, something which will haunt him for the rest of his life. And if she does actually tell him later that she intentionally drugged him/herself to force him to do that so she could snag him rather than let him do what he wanted to do which was become a priest? That's a level of heartbreak that might be too much for the poor guy to handle Bethesda's bizarre way of handling the ending of FO3 with Broken Steel finally letting you do the smart thing and not stupidly martyr yourself/Sarah for no reason if Fawkes/Charon/the robot are there and could do it instead is indeed strange, with them initially going 'no, it'd be wrong of me to take this choice from you' before broken steel to 'ugh, fine, if you don't want to be a moron and pointlessly get yourself killed, I suppose I can do something that I literally did earlier for you (go into an irradiated area to get the geck in fawkes's case). ....loser'. Even if they were too lazy to change the ending slides/narration, they could have at least not made Fawkes/Charon so snide and reluctant about the whole thing

I was expecting more out of that quest when I first did it and certainly a massive drop in karma. I did that on my first evil character and was baffled by the result. Imagine playing Fallout 2 and Myron not being considered evil for what he can do to a female Chosen One with a low Endurance score. There's a lot about 3 that I enjoy quite a bit but there's also content in the game that's very blunt force trauma. Like how the main story paints James as Capital Wasteland's Christ figure when the man's actions make everything objectively worse. Almost getting his kid killed, the fact he basically brushes off being saved from Braun, and the fact you can never call him out on his brash decision to leave 101 nor can you bring it up to anyone else in the game despite the fact that our character's father almost got us killed; Jonas dies helping him escape and James never once brings him up. This would actually be an awesome plot point if the game didn't treat James as if he did no wrong and allowed us to address these issues. Without the Lone Wanderer's internvetion, James's story ends at Vault 112, but it's treated like a minor inconvenience and like Project Purity wouldn't have succeeded if not for TLW saving his life. (Also, who hit the switch to close the double doors leading into the basement? Did a molerat do it? Haha)

@@MidlothianOdyssey I suppose there's always the chance James as dog manages to somehow figure out the secret behind Braun's whistling and hit the objects in the house in the right order to trigger the failsafe and get himself out that way, but it seems very, very unlikely. And very true about not being able to call James out on his actions and their consequences, with the game kind of giving him a pass on most of it since he dies shortly after being rescued. A lot of what happened he seems to genuinely not know about, and is either naive or oblivious for not thinking the possible consequences through, and I don't remember-does he even know Jonas is dead? Did Jonas die after James managed to escape and James blithely thought nothing would happen to Jonas because of it? Either way James seems manically driven to finish his dead wife's passion project in the water purifier, naively thinking it won't be abused to give the controller a ton of power. Out of universe it was probably at least partially due to budget reasons with them not wanting/able to pay Liam Neeson to put more voice lines in the game for him being more involved in it, but in universe James is certainly....careless and reckless, to put it mildly

A good chunk of my work over the years involved working with people, and I already enjoy engaging with others, and I'm lucky that I hit a slam dunk on the mic I bought off of Amazon a while back! Yeah, unfortunately I didn't notice the video's quality until I finished editing. I was like, "Do I run this again and get a better result or just post as is and see what happens...?" I ended up going with the latter cause I felt like I'd have rigged the score for the Tunnel Snake if I reran. I ended up switching software and this video ended up as my guinea pig to tinker with the software(Xsplit Broadcaster) :P

It's magic like that which makes New Vegas runs so fun :)

@@MidlothianOdyssey also another challenge: can you beat fallout 3 as Ian? weapons that can only be used are pistols smgs knives fists also you can only wear leather related armor such as tunnel snakes jacket, or leather armor
