This was my first time towing let alone towing across country in two days and wanted document the experience. Luckily, nothing went wrong and we made from Ohio to Arizona without any issues. The MDX performed amazing! The 2nd gen model has the capacity to tow 5000lbs and pulled this this trailer like a breeze. However, with the additional weight it clearly affected the MPG which I didnt factor ...

@@NBOTravels I am going to tow 5x8 uhaul trailer with my 2014 MDX to Vegas from Sacramento. It's only 500 miles. Nothing compared to your 2000 miles.
@@TamVilla916 yeah the MDX will handle that journey with a breeze
This helps so much! I have a 2011 Subaru Outback 6 cylinder , all wheel drive, and am moving this weekend from FL to NC and am pulling a 6 by 12. My biggest item is an L shaped sectional but scaled back alot otherwise. My mechanic and Uhaul have helped me... I am nervous. Driving alone with my dog. Whew, this helps!

How long was the flight from Md to Costa Rica?
MD as in Maryland? I’m not sure we few from Cleveland to Atl to Costa Rica which was maybe 7 hours in total

I enjoyed your video. The good thing about going to Livingstone, Zambia is that one has the opportunity to visit Zimbabwe & Botswana tourism experience without spending too much money to fly to these countries.

@@NBOTravels Great video. What was the MPG before towing and during towing again? I get 15 mpg on my 2010 mdx so I'm thinking with towing is going down to single digits maybe.
Actually 12 mpg is good, I am thinking about getting an mdx and was looking around for light towing. From what I have seen with Ford trucks, Toyota trucks and Audi suv your going to be in the 8mpg ball park maybe as low as 6 towing, with a open trailer with a car on it 12 isn't out of the realm. That enclosed trailer really brings the mpg down. I was more curious if the mdx would be underpowered and high in the revs pulling. Maybe with 9 speed transmission will make it ok.

Try to use the low gears if possible, stay in the right lane and break when you feel like your traveling down hill too fast

Exactly what I am planning to do in gen2 mdx and uhaul 6x12 from Vancouver to New York 3000 miles. Your video is the most relevant one I found so shout out to you for making it. One question though, do you have a transmission cooler installed on your mdx? I still need to het the hitch installed but not sure if I will need the transmission cooler or not since I will be pulling almost close to the limit
I didn’t not have a transmission cooler installed…. From what I saw on a few forms that was only needed for the 3rd Gen and beyond

hello, yes lunch was included in the excursion. I cannot recall what we were fed tho but there was not additional cost for the food.

Even tho San Jose is the capital city of Costa Rica outside that metro area is still pretty rural and they only have one line roads from there to Guanacaste and other parts of the country. No real freeway/highway set up
Great video, the resort looks amazing. Im booked for Nov & flying into Liberia. I see the property is huge with many ramps that I'll need as im in a wheelchair. That excursion you went on I can't do but I'd love to leave the property & see the island.

The beach wasnt too bad, it wasnt clear blue water but the water was warm

no beach really.

At the time you needed health insurance to enter into Costa Rica, not sure if that’s the case anymore

We booked the excursion at the resort. It was like 45 min drive from the resort

Regarding insurance we bought it through Trawick international but I believe these requirement we had to go through have recently been dropped

That bugs werent too unbearable I just don’t wear perfume or cologne and you’ll be fine
