Zighen Aym on his book Still Moments: A Story About Faded Dreams and Forbidden Pictures
(Join our Discord Group for discussions on this and many other videos !
discord.gg/xJBQQuZnV5 )
In this July 2024 conversation with Zighen Aym, a North African, Algerian-American writer, photographer and engineer, he discusses his experiences with ethnic profiling in the aftermath of 9/11, as described in his first book ‘Still Moments: A Story about Faded Dreams and Forbidden Pictures’.
'Still Moments' explores the events following his stopping along Route 66 in October 2002 to photograph some railroad tracks, when an Illinois State Police officer stopped and questioned him, which led to an FBI interrogation several months later. He further reflects on his photography, his life in Algeria, his reaction to being ethnically profiled and suspected of terrorist activities and the trauma of this experience.
About Zighen Aym
Zighen Aym is a retired engineer from the Kabylia region of Algeria (Tamurt n Leqbayel), and is currently living in Illinois USA. His love of photography started as he began to record events around him, his first camera was a Canon TX, which he bought in 1977. Over the years he also started to write emotions, ideas, and stories, which gave him another way of recording aspects of life.
His extensive B&W prints and 35 mm slides from Algeria are available for purchase. Many have appeared in magazines and books and Museum shows.

    2:57 This is the end of Tolkien's 'Letter 96', a letter to his son: The destruction of Germany, be it 100 times merited, is one of the most appalling world-catastrophes. Well, well - you and I can do nothing about it. And that should be a measure of the amount of guilt that can justly be assumed to attach to any member of a country who is not a member of its actual Government. Well the first War of the Machines seems to be drawing to its final inconclusive chapter - leaving, alas, everyone the poorer, many bereaved or maimed and millions dead, and only one thing triumphant: the Machines. As the servants of the Machines are becoming a privileged class, the Machines are going to be enormously more powerful. What's their next move?

    A quick comment about the satanic aspect, which I think gets overlooked and misunderstood. Pictures, signs, candles and robes, In my view do not dictate what is satanic, it's the actions(crimes) being carried out, which merit the definition of satanic.

    Rudolf Steiner on Prometheus: Probably you know the legend on which Aeschylus based his drama. Prometheus is a descendant of the ancient race of Titans, who had succeeded the first generation of gods in the evolution of the earth and of humanity. Ouranus and Gaia belong to the first generation of gods. Ouranus is succeeded by Kronos (Saturn). Then the Titans are overthrown by the third generation of gods, led by Zeus. Prometheus, though a descendant of the Titans, was on the side of Zeus in the battle against the Titans and so could be called a friend of Zeus, but he was only half a friend. When Zeus took over the rulership of the earth-so the legend continues-humanity had advanced far enough to enter on a new phase, while the old faculties possessed by men in ancient times were dying out. Zeus wanted to exterminate mankind and install a new race on earth, but Prometheus resolved to give men the means of further progress. He brought them speech and writing, knowledge of the outer world, and, finally, fire, in order that by learning to master these tools humanity might raise itself from the low level to which it had sunk. If we look more deeply into the story, we find that everything bestowed by Prometheus on mankind is connected with the human Ego, while Zeus is portrayed as a divine power which inspires and ensouls men in whom the Ego has not yet come to full expression. If we look back over the evolution of the earth, we find in the far past a humanity in which the Ego was no more than an obscurely brooding presence. It had to acquire certain definite faculties with which to educate itself. The gifts that Zeus could bestow were not adapted to furthering the progress of mankind. In respect of the astral body, and of everything in man apart from his Ego, Zeus is the giver. Because Zeus was not capable of promoting the development of the Ego, he resolved to wipe out mankind. All the gifts brought by Prometheus, on the other hand, enabled the Ego to educate itself. Such is the deeper meaning of the legend. Prometheus, accordingly, is the one who enables the Ego to set to work on enriching and enlarging itself; and that is exactly how the gifts bestowed by Prometheus were understood in ancient Greece. Now we have seen that if the Ego concentrates on this single aim, it finally impoverishes itself, for it will be shutting itself off from the outer world. Enriching itself is one side only of the Ego's task. It has to go out and bring its inner wealth into harmony with the world around it, if it is not to be impoverished in the long run. Prometheus could bestow on men only the gifts whereby the Ego could enrich itself. Thus, inevitably, he challenged the powers which act from out of the entire cosmos to subdue the Ego in the right way, so that it may become self less and thus develop its other aspect. The independence of the Ego, achieved under the sting of anger on the one hand, and on the other the damping down of the Ego when a man consumes his anger, as it were, and his Ego is deadened-this whole process is presented in the historic pictures of the conflict between Prometheus and Zeus. Prometheus endows the Ego with faculties which enable it to become richer and richer. What Zeus has to do is to produce the same effect that anger has in the individual. Thus the wrath of Zeus falls on Prometheus and extinguishes the power of the Ego in him. The legend tells us how Prometheus is punished by Zeus for the untimely stimulus he had given to the advancement of the human Ego. He is chained to a rock. The suffering thus endured by the human Ego and its inner rebellion are magnificently expressed by Aeschylus in this poetic drama. rsarchive.org/Lectures/GA058/English/RSP1983/19091205p01.html

    الحمد لله Alhamdulillah I am so glad to stumble upon another recent interview with David Livingstone. I initially stumbled upon his work re; the history of the dying God and it's link to how the occult is hiding in plain sight in our post -modern societies that propagate a subversive narrative that such occult symbolism is just an obsession for the unhinged... My primary readings of his work were exactly 10 years ago in 2014, but due to the intensity of the content, I and to give myself break so not to get so overwhelmed by it - the truth can be scary! I also remember watching a presentation by Hamza Yusuf ( September 2014 I Malaysia) about the occult in the entertainment industry, and how after linking up the most unlikely threads that it all does link up to a very sinister plot happening out there in our world.

    I’m glad the algorithm brought me to this channel. It’s great to see another brother talking about this topics in a sober/non-“tinfoil-hat” manner is very refreshing. There’s a fine line between talking about these things phenomenologically and going all the way with creating theories / beliefs / dogma around them. I definitely follow Gary’s work and appreciate his ability to bridge these different realms together. As a software engineer, I most interested in these topics as technologies. I’m most concerned with how to use these things to live an optimal life. Why they work or the larger meaning behind them are many times pointless to dwell on; because it’s in attempting to answer these questions where conflict happens. When he mentioned that he tends to wake up when the sunlight hits him in the morning and then he goes back to sleep. It is during those periods when he tends to lucid dream / experience hypnagogia. I completely concur with this. I tend to get up very early for morning meetings. After the meetings, I will take a nap in my recliner in my office. I tend to have very vivid dreams and can sometimes experience lucid dreams in this state. It happens very often. So this might be a formula for others who would like to experience this. Get up early in the morning, do some light mental work for 30min to 1 hour; then try going back to sleep, maybe in a different position than you normally sleep. Possible siting up or in a recliner. This is a variable to experiment with. But I get a high rate of success experiencing hypnagogia / lucid dreams by doing this. This is also similar to a formula presented in “The Phase” by Micheal Raduga. Anyways, thank you for this interview and I’m looking forward to more. Cheers!!

      Thank you for the kind words, I like exploring seemingly fringe topics in a balanced sober way. What you mention about using things to lead an optimal life is an interesting thought. There's the idea of constant testing and debugging in software design and using frameworks and perhaps that's a fitting metaphor for so much in life too. I like your formula, and thanks for sharing it. It's interesting over the last three weeks I'm getting more interesting hypnagogia like experiences simply naturally occurring in the early morning after briefly waking up. a couple of times I got frustrated with my wife for waking me up, whatever I was seeing was better than TV! It's funny, years ago my dad used to have a chair he would recline in, a couple of times he told me he fell into a light trance and had out of body experiences. That always stuck with me as a boy. Thanks again for commenting and thanks for watching !

    FYI, the massacre in Gaza, in my theory, is part of their blood sacrifice to their dying god and part of their ritual to hasten the arrival of anti-christ their messiah. Unfortunately to them, some of the Palestinian martyrs' bodies are guarded by angels (evil entities cannot feed on them) therefore we heard of the stories where the dead Palestinian bodies smelling like musk after days while dead IDF soldiers rotted so fast.

      It's not necessarily the Qarin that is being referred to. Hypnagogia is a natural state that everyone experiences in sleep. While I personally believe that someone may be more vulnerable to Jinn in those states, that's not always the case. As a practicing Muslim that's why I recite shahada and try to make wudu before sleeping as this may be protective. But it is an error to assume that everything experienced in hypnagogic states s from the Qarin or Jinn, there are a lot of Khurafat (superstitions) that are often taught to people about these matters that don't necessarily follow. The actual states Gary describes are simply common human experiences that people have had for thousands of years on the threshold between sleep and wakefulness.

      And just to be clear I am not being dismissive at all to your comment, you made a good point, and the question of the Qarin and the Jinn is a very important and interesting matter that future interviews with others will address inshallah. There IS an aspect of the human sleeping state and the threshold to sleep that, from our shared Islamic teachings, does render someone vulnerable to the influence and attack of negative forces of various sorts. However it's a mistake to assume off the bat that what someone is experiencing necessary is of such a matter. I have personally been exploring the hypnagoggc state and liminal mental states since about 1989, when I was a teenager, these matters are more complex than many people realize, and more nuanced. Thank you for replying and watching, and Jazak Allah Khayr.

    So why did the muslims first pray to the jewish temple, before worshipping a meteor that the pagans already venerated? Then for some reason they built a large black cube around it, which is completely Saturnian. The Jews also worship the black cube and use the star of Davidbecause it and the cube represents the hexagon of Saturn.

      The Kaaba firstly wasn't originally black, the black cover has been common in the last few centuries, but originally multiple colors were used. Also its original foundations weren't a cube, it was a rectangle. And again it wasn't black, that's a relatively modern change under recent dynasties ruling over Arabia.

    • @alistairjakobsson1506
      @alistairjakobsson1506 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi @leosharman, the black drape wasn't made into an enduring custom until the 13th century Christian era. Before then the colours were red and white during the time of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the early caliphs. Later dynasties like the seljuks draped it in yellow. The Caliph that made the final change into black was the Abbasid caliph An-Nassir. If he had any potential occult leanings in terms of astrotheology I do not know. As for the religion with the most affinity towards Saturn in terms of their praxis and symbolism it is Judaism. Islam is usually correlated with Venus among the plantary bodies and Christianity with the sun.

    • @alistairjakobsson1506
      @alistairjakobsson1506 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Furthermore, another claim by various proponents of astrotheology and occultism like e.g. Jordan Maxwell about the ka'aba is connected to Kabbalah through etymology. This is factually incorrect for anyone with any rudimentary knowledge of Semitic languages that all are based on 3 letter roots. The root for kabbala in arabic and Hebrew is the root verb meaning "to receive" (ق-ب-ل) while ka'aba ( ك-ع-ب) means "to have corners"/"to be cube shaped". The two words having an English language similarity is just coincidental to how the Anglicizing of both words occured.

    Can I advise adding the following to your title to attract more views, adding this deserves more views .. 'Quran and Hidden Occult History of Western Civilisation'.

      Thank you for the idea and comment. Unfortunately there's some display limitations when it comes to very long titles in TH-cam but maybe I can add that to the description of the interview and adjust the title a bit. Jazak Allah Khayr for mentioning this.

      It's recorded but I have to edit and upload it. Some personal life events over the last two months interrupted my work sadly. Thanks for your interest, and thanks for stopping by!

    Kamal, in regards to the Norman conquest of England, the Norman ruling family was by that point 90%+ genetically of Brittany stock (only having the male patrilineal viking ancestor of Rollo). The ruling elites of Brittany were all the old Romano British stock that moved out with the Anglo Saxon invasion into Brittany after the Merovingians had killed the local ruling class after some revolt. Hence the Norman conquest could be seen as a reconquest of sorts by that ruling class.

      Furthermore that Romano British class can trace their lineage back to Josephus Flavius and the rogue priestly family as Flavio Barbiero demonstrates in his work on the Mosaic Bloodline.

      This is an interesting point, I'll ask James what his thoughts are on this.

      There are two main things that should be abolished - money and religion. We are being manipulated by these more than anything else.
