I never imagined the day when “prices in the mid $300s” would be a good thing lol. I live about an hour away from Summerville out in the sticks but we don’t go to Charleston hardly ever. I use to deliver medical equipment to Mt. Pleasant and I just can’t handle the congestion down there

It's true, some natives don't like people from NY, NJ or Ohio. A lot of us would take back the old scary bridges that we used to drive across just so we could go back to the way things were before chs exploded. There's a lot of reasons people are resentful. Driving etiquette has gone out the window with all the people moving here. Prices of homes or Apts have skyrocketed, forcing younger naitives further away from the heart of chs. Developers build like crazy, Including on flood prone areas. So even unsuspecting implants will buy homes that will ultimately flood. Also, because of this a lot of our trees have been cut down destroying a lot of the beauty that once was. Also, a lot of the charm is gone, that once surrounded the area. And most southern folks or natives will just put on a mask and "be nice" to your face, when in reality they don't like you at all. Lastly, out infrastructure is garbage, so all the influx of new residents over the yrs have only made a bad traffic situation worse. I know our population isn't even close to a big city like Charlotte or ATL, but our traffic is almost as bad, which is insane. I mean try and go west on 526 in the afternoon during a weekday or try going east from summerville towards downtown In the morning.. Goodluck. There's plenty of reasons the people who have lived here for a longtime are not happy.

I had a question I was looking at homes in Summerville while the address is Summerville in Google maps it says Moncks Corner. Is there a reason for this? I don’t hear the best things about Moncks Corner.

The traffic isnt so bad, the people here drive crazy. Is a toss-up between Florida and South Carolina who has the worst drivers.

Live CLOSE to where you work, or be retired. Roads haven't changed and they are building everywhere. My realtor never took us out at rush hour, and after moving here I know why.

Hanahan is the best of all worlds. Centrally located to ALL of the different Charleston areas and somewhat reasonably priced housing. However, remember that commute times will be brutal if you live in one area and have to drive to another. You need to live near where you work, play, and worship.

There’s a reason why South Carolina is clean, peaceful and prosperous. Conservative values definitely work. Only vote red conservative from top to bottom if you live there or are thinking about moving there. I may move there myself in the future. Trump for 2024!!! 🇺🇸

South Carolina is not as affordable as they say it is. Property taxes are low but home insurance is higher then taxes in the north. Car insurance is so high. I was paying $425 annual for liability with higher coverage and here I’m paying $1100 annual with lower coverage.The food prices are same, gas prices less by a couple of cents. If you plan on moving to SC you better be ready to give up a lotta different groceries that you will not find here. Fish is either prepackaged and it’s awful or frozen. You think being at the Atlantic you would have fresh fish everywhere. And the southern hospitality is so fake. I’ve never seen such rude people. Customer service is terrible. Don’t ask more then one question or they’ll jump down your throat. I’ve been here 1 year and selling, I’m gonna try NC

People in the south hate New Yorkers and Californians because you come to these smaller cities and you buy up all these properties bidding higher than the residents now every house is 500k when it used to be 250k and the minimum wage is still 7.25 in the south, that’s why people hate New Yorkers and Californians. I'm originally from Central Florida, spent 18 years there. Moved to Georgia in 1999 and I've been here ever since. I'm use to the bugs, the gators, lived through God knows how many hurricanes, and the heat. My family is looking to relocate in the next 10 months and we've been looking at moving to your local city. My question is, what kind of responses should we expect from Natives to SC. being from FL & GA, and how is the job market? Is it possible to live off of one job?

Charleston used to be very affordable, especially when the Navy Base was in operation. The cost of living was kept low because military employees are not rich. I really don't understand why SO many people are moving here. The traffic have quadrupled in the last 10 years, Ridiculous!

I am a native Floridian, grew up on the east coast. We moved to a small town in Central Florida to escape the madness. Long story short, I was called a yankee because I'm from the city. Very annoying. Most people here are from up north but we still hear hate for new Yorkers big time. It's too bad you guys get a bad rap but it happens here too, a lot. Even to natives!! Lol doesn't make sense.

I'd add Shem Creek, Old Village, Sullivans Island, Fort Moultrie, walk Broad Street and the Battery, and haunted tours downtown.

You hit the nail right on your own head...people need to educate themselves about the area they move to, out of respect. Make an effort to learn the history and customs of wherever you move to. Here's an example: it is considered rude to use the F-word in conversation out in public , such as in a restaurant. Thank you for being part of the discussion.

The part about "The People," I think you've just described the difference between real-world vs. the internet. Reddit, Facebook, TH-cam comments, and any social media/internet platform seems to lock-in and bring out the absolute worst in people. I think it must be, because most people who have a descent and fulfilling life don't take or have the time to read and respond to people online. Only people who are prone to negative emotion tend to spend more time and energy online (due to lack of a real-world life). In other words, if you have 10 human interactions in the real-world, only 1 of the 10 will be negative. But if you have 10 human interactions online, I imagine 4-5 will be negative. And since we all tend to focus on and be more affected by negative interactions... yeah... just try to remember that the internet isn't a real place. Love your videos!!!
