    Wouldn't it be cool if you extended the solar panels off the back of the trailer by a couple feet - similar to the "trailer tails" you see on some 18-wheelers? You'd gain some aerodynamic efficiency AND gain room forward on the trailer for more solar! :)

I can use those to charge my portable 600 ah 12 volt pack (watch that video too). Funny you say that. Over the weekend I ordered an aluminum bed rack and two of these iallpowers.com/products/allpowers-sf400-flexible-solar-panel-400w . The top 3 panels on the solar trailer charge the batteries on the trailer, and the ones on the bed (45 kWh), while driving. The sides, when down, do not produce much when I am driving. @@Roberteeeeeee I know, I have a Model Y performance and it was great at the time but has become very gimmicky. That’s why I had my eye on this bad boy when it was released. Preordered it and then couldn’t afford it.

    I want a Chevy EV. Cant afford it right now . Been working on charging ideas for awhile now even before seeing this channel. What's the max input range on the charge on the Chevy. like the watts or the voltage. Or like the battery pack size.

    • @Roberteeeeeee
      @Roberteeeeeee หลายเดือนก่อน

      When charging with AC, it has a 19.2 kW inverter that converts it to DC to charge the battery. So you can buy the Chevy or any other charger that can charge at 19.2. I think that would work out to being an 80 amp AC circuit. I have the Chargepoint home and charge at 50 amp.

    Did you have to do anything with your inverter to be able to charge the EV? connect the ground line to the negative/return? asking since I'm having issues charging with my solar + inverter setup and the car charger

      Please don't take this as electrical advise but I believe I had the same issue when the Ground and Neutral were not bonded.

    hi, are you able to charge the vehicle while/during, driving/travaling?

    • @Roberteeeeeee
      @Roberteeeeeee หลายเดือนก่อน

      Great question! The Tesla will not net you put the vehicle in drive when the charge cable is connected. Not sure on the Silverado EV but I know it has a message that tells me it's connected, so I assume no. Thing of how many gas hoses would have be spared if ICE vehicles had a warning...

    The problem with EV pickups is obvious in this video. They are designed to look like ICE pickups because pickup buyers are extremely conservative. So they have the aerodynamics of a barn door and the unnecessary body height, despite the EV drivetrain. Basically, they kept every disadvantage of ICE in the design.

    • @Roberteeeeeee
      @Roberteeeeeee หลายเดือนก่อน

      I agree with most of what you said. The Silverado EV is not simply the Silverado with batteries and an electric motor (or two), it was designed to be a truck and is more aerodynamic than the F-150. Drag coefficient of the Silverado EV is .331. Gas Silverado: 0.38 Lightning: 0.44 Hummer pickup: 0.5 Rivian R1T: Around 0.3 Ford's F-150 Lightning: About 0.40 to 0.45 Tesla Cybertruck: 0.34 On backroads doing between 45 and 50, I achieved 2.5 miles per kWh. That makes my range 205kWh X 2.5 miles = 512.5 miles on a charge is possible.

    I have used a all in one unit like you have there for about 4 years now and when it is sunny it BLOWS AIR!!!! your going to fry it brother. It blows MUCH more hot air than a gaming PC. You could water cool it. That would be your best bet. or easy mode is too cut vents in the bottom and the top and put a roof on it. I can't state this enough it needs air. take it apart and you will see big powerful fans on the inside with clear plastic air guides for a reason.

    Nice build. If the batteries are going to be in the trailer, perhaps it would be better to move the camper to the rear and move the electrical gear and storage to the front?

    • @Roberteeeeeee
      @Roberteeeeeee หลายเดือนก่อน

      The additional batteries will be in the bed of the Silverado EV. I am making a storage area above the front (slanted portion) of the camper. Otherwise, your way would be better!
