Loving The View With Russ And Netty
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 18 ก.พ. 2022
My wife (Netty) and I moved out to Reno, Nevada in February of 2021 from Michigan. We moved out here to be closer to the mountains and amazing desert scenery. We have been able to explore many areas already, from Death Valley, where I enjoy doing astrophotography to the many amazing hikes in the area. Come along with us as we continue to explore the many amazing sites this area has to offer!
Glacier Bay National Park Timelapse From Balcony of Norwegian Encore - Amazing View!
When Netty and I went on our Alaskan Cruise aboard the Norwegian Encore in October of 2023, we were brought into the Glacier Bay National Park and Preserve to see the amazing glaciers.
We were able to catch all of the majesty and splendor right from our balcony. The clouds were just right to show off the beautiful blue skies with the majestic snow-capped mountains all around us.
It is so hard to put into words how beautiful the water and glaciers were!

Ketchikan Adventure Karts - NCL Excursion - We Got Muddy!
มุมมอง 70911 หลายเดือนก่อน
In October of 2023, Netty and I went on an Alaskan cruise with her family aboard the Norwegian Encore. This was a great adventure where we were able to see the glaciers in Glacier Bay National Park. We of course had to partake in a few excursions and one of our favorites was this one. We booked the Ketchikan Adventure Carts. We went on a rainy day which filled all the potholes on the dirt two-t...
Scenic Drive - Schulman Grove Bristlecone Visitor Center to Highway 395
มุมมอง 17311 หลายเดือนก่อน
In November of 2022, our dad came out to visit from Michigan. We thought it would be great to take him down highway 395 in California to explore some of the locations on this amazing route along the east side of the Sierra Nevada mountains. One of the stops we thought he'd enjoy were the ancient bristlecone trees in the White Mountains. This spot is easily reachable in the warmer months of the ...
Hiking the Panorama Trail to Little Yosemite Valley
มุมมอง 2.1Kปีที่แล้ว
At the end of summer of 2023, Netty and I traveled back to Yosemite National Park and met up with our nephews Christopher and Alex, for another hiking adventure. We stayed in the valley the first night, in Curry Village, then drove up to Glacier Point the following day to hike on the Panorama Trail to Little Yosemite Valley. The permit we got for our trek had us starting at Glacier Point with o...
Check Out the Most Unique Spot in Goldfield, Nevada Off Highway 95!
มุมมอง 216ปีที่แล้ว
Netty and I made a stop at this great gem just off from highway 95 in the old gold mining town of Goldfield, Nevada. We were on our way to the ghost town of Rhyolite to shoot some video and wanted to stretch our legs a bit. Lily needed to get out too! We weren’t sure what to expect when we got here but were pleased to see all these unique vehicles sticking out of the ground with interesting pai...
Darwin Falls - We Explored The Washed Out Canyon
มุมมอง 753ปีที่แล้ว
In March of 2023, Netty and I headed to the Panamint Valley area in California, for a fun star party. While we were there, we headed over to Darwin Falls. Darwin Falls is an 18-foot spring fed waterfall and is part of a cool trail that meanders through a canyon where it is initially in full sun but as you make your way to the falls, you find yourself in lush vegetation, consisting mainly of wil...

Located just four miles from the town of Beatty Nevada is the historic ghost town of Rhyolite. This location has tons of mining, railroad and western history! Netty, Lily and I bring you along on our explorations of some of the old building ruins as well as a quick hike up the side of Ladd Mountain to check out an old mine shaft, we were also greeted by some amazing, panoramic views of the town...
Fossil Falls: Highway 395's Must-See Geological Wonder
มุมมอง 384ปีที่แล้ว
While Netty and I were at a star party in Panamint Valley, we decided to take a ride down through Ridgecrest, California. On our way up Highway 395, we saw the sign for Fossil Falls, near the small town of Little Lake, California. We've heard about this unique, ancient, dry falls location and have even seen a few videos about it. It's definitely worth the stop if you're on a quick day trip, loo...
Ancient Rock Art - Grimes Point Archaeological Area
มุมมอง 1.7Kปีที่แล้ว
Netty and I traveled out to Grimes Point Archaeological Area, which is located near Fallon, Nevada and is a unique destination that offered us a glimpse into the area's rich history and prehistoric past. The area is home to an extensive collection of petroglyphs, or rock carvings, that date back thousands of years. We explored the area by hiking the Petroglyph and Overlook Trails, which offered...
The Rock Point Mill Ruins - Dayton, Nevada
มุมมอง 7Kปีที่แล้ว
Netty and I explored the old Rockpoint Mill Ruins in Dayton, Nevada. This location had a mill on site from approximately 1860 until 1920 and cost nearly $200,000 at the time of its construction. This mill processed gold and silver ore from nearby mines during the Comstock gold rush. When we were researching this location we found that we merely scratched the surface of all of its history in thi...
Devils Golf Course - Death Valley National Park
มุมมอง 217ปีที่แล้ว
On a recent road trip to Death Valley, Netty and I made a stop to one of the most popular locations in Death Valley - The Devils Golf Course. If you've never been out here, this location is one that provides no shortage of wonder and awe. The salt deposits go for almost as far as you can see! This location is just a short trip off from Badwater Road. You can take pretty much any vehicle down th...

Benton Hot Springs Weekend Campsite with Private Spring Fed Hot Tub
I'm waiting to go there. Thanks for the video.
Absolutely! It is a really cool place to check out. That whole area along 395 is like Natures playground for sure!!
I remember when 120 From Benton to 395 was all dirt. And we used to have to cross that every day in the winter to get to work. Those were fun days.
Wow! That is a cool memory!! I can imagine that was pretty sketchy at times! Did you work in the Lee Vining area?
@@lovingtheviewwithrussandne7462 We were working in Mammoth Lakes and June Lake at the time. So hwy 6 to Benton and then 120 dirt road to 395. They didn't plow all that much back then either. Had to bathe in the hot spring in Fishlake Valley because the house in Dyer had no hot water at tje time..
@@mobiltec Wow! That's a wild memory for sure! We are actually at Benton again this weekend enjoying the hot tubs. It's making me thing about your memory of having to go to Fishlake for your bathing. Thank you for sharing your memories!!
@@lovingtheviewwithrussandne7462 My pleasure. That is the best part of You Tube. The memories.
a woman capable of this is a keeper
I agree!! She is 100% a keeper🙂
Great video
Thank you so much and thank you for watching!!
Incredibly How many hours does it takes?
Thank you so much for watching! Some people can do the Panorama trail by itself in a handful of hours. Since we did it as part of an overnight trip, we couldn't really give a good estimate.
I like how they used to call the homeless hermits, its so much classier.
@@jeffk464 agreed😁
This video was so well done. You are a great host. I hope you all the luck with the future of this channel. 246 subscribers but you deserve so many more!
Thank you for your kind words and for watching our video!! I haven't done too much with this channel lately as I have a different channel that I have been focusing on 🙂. Thank you for watching though!!
I checked out your videos too. You have some pretty sweet stuff!! The Tahoe area has so much beauty to offer!!
I always wondered if the big pieces of cement were part of an old mill. Well now I know. Thankyou for a Dayton history lesson.
@@michelleharrell8452 thank you Michelle. My wife and I lved digging through all the history of this location to make this video! Thank you for watching🙂.
Made this hike today after watching this video. Absolutely stunning.
@@erniegriego3930 that's cool Ernie!! We are amazed at all the cool things there are to see along the whole 395 corridor🙂
Nice! Thank you for sharing!
You're very welcome! Thank you for watching🙂
Thanks for the video. We have a balcony and this was the perfect video for me to see what we can see. Couple questions; WHat did you use for gear to record? I havea Canon 7d and a GoPro that I plan on bringing. Assuming I can suction cup the gopro to the door or something?
You're welcome! Thank you for watching!! For this time lapse, I used a GoPro Hero 7. For the thumbnail image, I used a Canon EOS M50. I used a gorilla pod to allow the GoPro to attach to our balcony railing. It worked pretty well. I was a bit nervous as I definitely didn't want it going into the water, lol, but it worked out fine! Enjoy your cruise! It was an amazing experience.
@@lovingtheviewwithrussandne7462 Did you have a battery hooked up to the GoPro for extra power or did your GoPro Battery work well enough? Oivay! that would definetley make me think twice with the camera on the railing. I was even reconsidering leaving mine suctioned to the door . although if the suction failed i would disappointed. Maybe I get a grip and test before the trip
@@maszaan7024 for this timelapse, I don't think I used an external battery but it did pretty much use up an entire battery doing the timelapse.
what di you mean by exposure? As in you were expose to the direct sun?
Hi Jack. I probably should've been a bit more specific huh?! I just meant that I felt extremely out in the open. Almost like one wrong step and I'd fall to the valley below, lol. While it's true that it can be a bit precarious, I was actually much safer than I was allowing myself to feel at that moment.
wow i stumbled across this video love it ! if i wasnt scared of heights id do this hike but glad i got see the views from your video !
It was a blast. I have to admit, the subdome got to me, lol. The scenery was amazing though!! Thank you for watching 🙂
Great video. Thanks for sharing your adventure with us! Going to do LSV to Half Dome this May (2024). This really helped!
Awesome!! We loved this hike and are actually doing it again in August this year. You'll love it🙂 glad you enjoyed the video!!
I went to this mill today with my roomate but I used to get drunk with my friends in high school and play around lol
Great job! What snacks did you eat on the hike up to the summit?
Thank you!! Our first day, we stopped for lunch and had sandwiches that we got in Lone Pine. Other than that, our snacks were basic things like jerky, nuts, energy bars and one of my favorite trail snacks... M&M's 🙂 Our main meals consisted of freeze dried mashed potatoes and sealed in the bag chicken, as well as some pre-packaged. Freeze dried meals. It was an awesome adventure. We wanted to do it again this year but didn't win the permit yet 😕 Thank you so much for watching!!
You mean to tell me you are totally exhausted at 6 miles, why do people like you think you can hike trails and cause trouble for real hikers 😡
Huh?
love this video brother
Thank you!! Very glad you enjoyed it!!
Awesome video!! So glad you had a good time. Thanks for coming on a tour with us! -your guide Dylan :)
Thank you for watching! We had a blast!!
Awesome!

My intrusive thoughts want to jump in that still blue water. Amazing soundtrack!

Thanks bro! It was fun. If you guys go on an Alaskan cruise, you'll have to try it!
Wow, my back was aching just watching this!!! Definitely not for me but the views look amazing.
It was bumpy 🙂 a lot of fun though!
Rough sounding roads! Amazing mountain views!😊
The road wasn't too bad overall 🙂 the views are amazing though!!
hey guys, I wanted to share that I recently put together a trail guide for this spot too. While I was browsing through TH-cam, I stumbled upon your video, and I have to say, I really enjoyed the way you covered the trail. The part about the natives storing food down below was a neat detail. Thanks for sharing, and keep up the good work! 😊
Thank you for the kind words! The history of that whole area is so interesting to us!
@@lovingtheviewwithrussandne7462 same! Happy hiking!

Do cars naturally grow out of the ground like that?! Only in Nevada.
I know. Bizarre huh?!
Wild! Pretty cool
Thanks! It was a cool stop for sure.
Look like fun
It was fun! You would've loved it 🙂
I wonder how bad this trail is now after the storm of 8-23? Hopefully not too much more damage. Nice video!
Hey Robert. I wonder too. It was a real bummer seeing how beat up it was after last year. Death Valley has had it pretty rough lately! Thank you for watching!!
Don't let headache rock fall on you. Might be a little more than a headache!
Yeah man. No headache for us!
❤ definitely very pretty. I really enjoyed listening to the sound of the water on your way up. Thanks for sharing!!
