Hex dumbbell can be used as pushup stand. Otherwise round is better and balance is good on round.

Yes but it won't be much effective. For better result you have to burn calories using all body mussels. You should do Upper body exercises using dumbbell/pushup and lower body exercises(walking and Squat). Last but most important good diet.

As you are a girl and not heavy waight. You should go for 3 kg just one dumbbell no need to buy pair. Later if you feel the need buy one 5kg .

You can do calisthenics at that point if you don't want much muscle mass but good strength and endurance.

If you get 5 kg pair you will feel it very light and useless after 10 days and you have to buy 7.5. My suggestion practice with brick for 1 week then you will be over 5 kg and will be ready for 7.5.
