My last vlog as a Korean Medical Student at Seoul National University (for now)
Hi everyone,
I am aware that everything may seem like it happened all of a sudden,
but I assure you that these thoughts have been thoroughly processed and discussed. Although there were many happy moments in the midst of it all, moments that were not vlogged were far from happy and bright. I kept feeling a sense of hopelessness as I continued to study, and as my health deteriorated along with my happiness, I decided that I needed a total break from medicine and studying. I will keep vlogging and updating my life on this channel, but it just won't be about medicine for the next 1 or 2 years. I hope everyone can stay on board as I sail through possibly the wildest times of my life. Stepping away from majority, a safe route, and venturing the unknown.
In the meantime, stay happy and healthy everyone :)

It really depends on the country, school, other international students who are applying, etc. I would say if your marks and achievements can get you into American IVYs, they can get you into SNUMED as long as you’re completely fluent in Korean..!

Can I ask you something I am Indian iam preparing myself at neet in home but iam not going to get admission in India because my neet score is low so I have 3 yr gap it's is accepted to get admission in Korea for medicine
If you able to get into the top med school in any country, there may be a slight possibility to get into SNU MED given you are fluent in Korean. Otherwise, you will only be admitted for electives or exchange. Korea is a homogenous country with mostly only Koreans, and having non-Korean speaking doctors would be difficult for everyone. So because of this, so far, there have been no non-Korean international students being accepted into Korean Medical universities. Not saying there is no chance of acceptance, but just saying it may be very difficult to be the first. Hope this realistic answer helps :)
Does there any medical university in korea which teach medicine/ MBBS in English language
I’m not sure, not that I know of..! There may be a few English classes but I don’t think the whole course is in English..

Whoa ! How many hours do u study 😢
It depends on the day, my condition, how many classes there are, etc. It also depends if you’re considering actual 100% focus time or just study time in general! But just to give you an idea, I usually spent about 6-9 hours focusing (besides classes). But my actual study time (time not doing anything else) was about 8-10 hours. This includes short breaks and times where I wasn’t too focused.

Hey I hope you stay safe and well. Recently got results and didn't pass high school finals and I'm going to do it again. It's so frustrating and I guess being a medical student is never easy. Hope all of us have strength and achieve everything we aim for with happiness and laugh. I hope you will be happy everyday in this new year. Hope you have a nice day. 💜

There is no rule against it, but there have not been any non-Korean internationals who do not speak Korean.
For me . I m fluent in korean language and I heard about how hard it is to be a medical student in korea . So I tried to study one subject in korean language and see if it is ok or not . I studied anatomy for one day and it is so easy for . Even the new words I was able to understand them easily. (I used 박유현 교수님 lecture 😅) I think if I studied hard and put effort I will be able to study in korea . When I come to korea I will tell you so we can meet 😊😊😊
Hi Hyongie, I am a pharmacy student at the top 4 universities in Indonesia. When I got accepted at this prestigious pharmacy school, I felt so happy and had an ambition to be the best student. But things got hard when I started my first year. I was a bit lost in the materials, but I managed to survive in my 1st semester. I passed my 1st semester with scores that actually didn't go as I wished and expected. I felt okay in the holidays until I started my 2nd semester. The materials are really tough. I get tired easily. I know I can't be like this, or otherwise I'll be left behind. But I keep feeling overwhelmed. I couldn't catch up with the speed. I feel like I was a failure already. No one supports me, even my family underestimates my feelings. It feels like my feelings and my worries aren't valid. The more I walk further, the more burden I get. What should I do now? I feel everything isn't under my control. I don't know what next step I should take now...
Hey, coming from a similar situation, I know things can be really tough. And being in a prestigious school really doesn’t add to situations since everyone has big expectations, I get it too. I honestly think that there is no right or wrong answer to life, so I guess I won’t be able to give you any solutions or directions, but I know I can give you support and prayer. From my experience, taking a gap year or a break was good for my mental health to some extent, but when I had no structure in life, for example no life routines or goals, I felt more helpless and behind in life. So I really urge you to look into yourself and take time to ask yourself what you truly want, what you enjoy and what your life mottos are, etc. Why are you studying? For what or whom? Once you have answers to these questions, I’m sure they’ll steer you in the right direction. But if you’re just burnt out and struggling mentally, I urge you, strongly wish for you to visit a hospital and get treated. I really hope all goes well for you (and me, since I am still struggling with my life as well haha). Whatever you do, don’t give up on yourself and keep taking care of yourself. Your work doesn’t define your worth. Love yourself.

Anyway, I believe you are making the best choice for you because your personal health comes first 💖💖💪💪 I am planning to go to medical school in the next 3 / 4 years, but currently, lots of challenges, difficulties and obstacles are happening in my life, my family, my friends, everything surrounding me 😔😔…. and watching your video really soothes me because I can see the strength and kind heart you have. Hi! Not only to you have to get a 6급 in TOPIK, you need to be absolutely fluent to pass the interview! Everything in med school is taught in Korean!

A professor told me that there's no timeline in Medicine, we can take as long as we want. We should take care of ourselves first cuz that's the only way we can take care of others. If this is really for us no matter what life gives us we will make it. I'm rooting for you and your endeavors. Hope you find happiness and do what your heart really wants.

This is so real. I’m still in gap year for almost 4 years now. Idk if im still able to go to Med school since my parents couldn’t afford the expenses and all. Me being depressed for years.. and honestly you’re such an inspiration to take care of ourselves, mentally and physically

Our journey as doctors is not easy and I truly understand how you feel. In fact, dealing with people and taking on the responsibility of caring for them when they are vulnerable is a super challenge. But in case no one has said it: you are doing great!! Trying every day and not letting your dreams fly away is already a victory. We won't always be able to give 100% of ourselves, but if we do 1% every day, we will be able to surpass the basic 100%. Keep going, I'm proud of you!♥
