WEISS 6-Position Rotary Automation Platform
Seeking a solution for a drilling and pressing process, a North American manufacturer and global provider of resin, adhesive and lubricant coatings for threaded fastener applications contacted WEISS North America.
A custom solution was developed by WEISS engineers and delivered in the form of a rotary automation platform based on the proven and reliable WEISS TC220 rotary indexing table.
The 6-position rotary chassis platform consists of a TC220 rotary indexer that rotates in both clockwise and counterclockwise directions, as well as reciprocating, a variable frequency drive and brake resistor kit, a powder coated, welded machine base frame with leveling pads, a ground steel base plate, a ground steel dial plate with black oxide finish, a static steel plate riser with black oxide finish, and stainless-steel shrouds for fluid protection.
The rotary platform also features a custom aluminum extrusion and wire mesh guard enclosure provided by Industrial Profile Systems, a wholly owned subsidiary of WEISS North America.
The guarding solution consists of 40x40 aluminum profile, 1” x 1” black PVC coated 12-gauge steel mesh, non-contact machine guarding safety switches, and a custom vertical part exit door for transfer to a conveyor.

don't ask me where, (i can not speak on behalf of my employer) we have some WEISS 2 axis, they are faster than lighting.... millions of cycles with zero issues.... our only failures occurred when the gripper tooling got worn out, and the horizontal slide was improperly maintained... amazing system. never faults out. highly recommended.

This is really clever. Have you implemented this system with a larger product, say 7-8kg?
these systems are blindingly fast... from my technician standpoint, these systems are full of win, the only issues i have encountered involve the integration, sometimes the tooling cant keep up the pace, and i could not access any commands to slow down the Weiss, to see what was happening.... and they are robust, just put the correct lube on the slides, and they will run HARD.

@@WEISSNorthAmerica thank you so much for the rapid reply, we resolved the performance issue in house, an Engineer had access to the software, he fine tuned the place positions, and that is when we found a wobbly gripper....
