Addy Osmani examines the leading JS MVC-ish frameworks from a pure (smalltalk) MVC perspective
มุมมอง 18K12 ปีที่แล้ว
Ok to start off I must state that I AM NOT THE AUTHOR of this video. Rather, I found it hanging out in what I deemed to be a rather remote corner of the web. This was a talk that Addy Osmani (of google) gave to the London Ajax user's group on June 12th 2012. I found certain elements of his presentation very useful and decided that it would be beneficial to port the video over to TH-cam vis a vi...
"Spiral Fire" Electrical Resistance Aluminum Melting Furnace
มุมมอง 24K13 ปีที่แล้ว
This is my 2nd attempt at small scale melting furnace design and implementation. While it is uncommon for an initial prototype to impress me to a great degree, there are times when I'm pleasantly surprised with even the first attempt at a given design, this prototype is one of those times.
Getting the 'heel' ready or "Feeding the swirl furnace"
มุมมอง 65913 ปีที่แล้ว
Here I show how to go about setting up an aluminum 'heel' of molten metal in order to setup the melting environment suitably for larger aluminum objects to easily melt in the furnace.
Recycling Aluminum at home!
มุมมอง 98K13 ปีที่แล้ว
As you can see the 'heel' has been suitably developed and most of what I'm doing now is just recycling aluminum around the house, which is the really fun part!

Swirl Furnace Stage 3
มุมมอง 83513 ปีที่แล้ว
This is a high-temperature structural and insulation test of the core of the swirl furnace. Here we see it with it's middle cement perlite "mesolayer" which serves to insulate the inner core layers' heat conduction. This is critical in order to insure the structural integrity of the outer concrete jacket. Ironically I ended up adding considerable amounts of perlite to the portland cement concre...
Swirl Furnace Stage 2

Here's the next step in the Swirl Furnace design and development. Structural strength and the intermediate insulation layer before the final structural steel and cement are applied in stage 3.

2007 Yamaha Majesty CVT air cover mounting screw repair
มุมมอง 2.6K14 ปีที่แล้ว
Here you can see one of the M6 Bolts for the Majesty's CVT cover, the #3 philips head tends to be susceptible to stripping by improper size screwdriver bit usage. I'v drilled the stripped area with a 1/4" bit and soldered on a #2 screw head, in my experience the solder repair is strong enough for the task, however, in hindsight, I will be replacing all Philips screw heads with a metric hex or s...

    So this is the tough guy calling for Genocide against the Armenians lolololol. You wouldnt last ten minutes in a firefight. If you are pro Russia, then why dont you go live in that "free" country. Its a shit hole unless you got lots of money. Armenia is a real Christian nation and is under attack from Azerbaijan with Russia not doing anything despite Armenia and Russia having a security agreement, so as any country would do they went to the US for help because if they dont they are FINISHED which apparently you are cheering on. You want to live under Putin's laws or Chinese laws lol, i know lots of immigrants from those countries especially Russia, if you are American or Canadian then you are doing quite well, although your own countries have declared war on you as well but i prefer to live in North America over China or Russia 100%. You are free to leave anytime. I always get a kick of people who think China and Russia are these great civilizations because they are fighting the globalist, just remember if China were to invade North America, they will kill all the men and traitors like you would be sent to the slave camp as a reward.

  • @lendoggtheking

    I don't wish to disappoint you but that's not efficient at all. if you put the whole assembly in a bucket with fibre glass insulation round the outside and vermiculite next to the hottest parts then made a lid from an expanded concrete block it would be reasonably efficient. that said I'm sure its effective but efficiency and efficacy are different things.

    powertecjamie, how did you get from melting metal to pronunciation? Joe is American, he's not your enemy, or even your pronunciation whipping boy! We all know they pronounce things different, so stop shaming us here in the UK and let the guy melt metal. If you get your head out of your arse (ass), you might learn something! Joe, we are not all like him, say what you like, how you like, because even we have many different dialects. Nice video!

    Well I'm English so of course I have a decent English accent. :/

  • @JoeHacobian
    @JoeHacobian 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    yeah, I dunno, it's kinda hard to adopt "Al you min ee um" with no trace of a british accent whilst managing to avoid sounding like a pretentious tard. Having said that, if you happen to have a decent british accent, then it's ok. They drive on the left side of the road, we drive on the right, neither one is 'correct' they're just different. Yes I know the periodic table spells the metal as Aluminium, the Oxford american dictionary shows both forms, blame the english majors and leave us alone!

  • @JoeHacobian

    I usually pour the aluminum out onto a prepared sand bed, but I'll be exploring more advanced "sand casting" and "plaster casting" next year.

  • @JoeHacobian
    @JoeHacobian 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes, there are many types of aluminum products to try smelting. Something I would like to try is better preparation of the aluminum to be melted, perhaps by lightly sanding the cans or perhaps by using an acid etch. I'll be exploring metallurgy more carefully next year.

  • @JoeHacobian
    @JoeHacobian 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    At the time I was pouring the melted aluminum onto a bed of dry sand. This was a very early attempt and I may begin using prepared plaster molds next year.
