Why I WON'T Be Buying Wampler's New Brent Mason Pedal | THE "REWIRED"
I've been a user of the Hot Wired vs. 2 for years now. Just recently I replaced it on my board with the Wampler Gearbox. Now that the "Rewired" is here is it time to upgrade? Is a pedal actually going to make me sound like Brent or is another couple years of practicing the answer... 🤔🤔

How the Pros Think About Soloing | COUNTRY GUITAR LICKS AND TRICKS Ep. 4
มุมมอง 15K14 วันที่ผ่านมา
Welcome to the fourth episode of my Country Guitar LICKS AND TRICKS series. When I was first learning country solos I was always puzzled by what it was the players chose to play. I made this episode hoping to shed some light on how one might approach a solo like this. The song is "Mercury Blues" by Alan Jackson. The guitar parts were recorded by none other than Brent Mason! Hope you find it hel...

Hey Steve, got an idea; take a song such as "whiskey bent, hell bound" - good and slow, right? - then work out all the fills and lead. That'd be more tangible than a brisk tempo for beginners(?). I know I'd love it, anyway

I agree, Buying gear is overrated. Please make a vid on how to get a decent country tone. Amp settings, minimal pedals required? etc. Instead of buying all the gear to look like a country guitar player, some of us want to know how to use our existing gear for country guitar. Thx.

I have the gearbox love it pairs well with my us superblock quilter and p10r speaker sounds real fendery with my tele and my strat also have the terraform and clarksdale pedals all great pedals and my main staple also the Andy woods compressor and no they don’t make u sound like anyone but yourself but effects do inspire aspects of that particular sound if u learn it u can sound more like u hear in your head if that makes sense😅

I bought the new one.... but currently I play through my helix on stage...in the process of changing to a friedman ir-d pedal and getting back to a more analog pedals, but still able to plug in directly to my pa.... kind of a digital/analog setup...helix is too complicated for me.....on a different note I found a nice lucky dog guitar on reverb that I decided to buy... can you do an overview on yours? Things you like don't like specs etc.... I've wanted one for several years looking forward to getting that thing on stage asap!

I have a TS9 Tube Screamer and ODR-1. I was torn between a Wampler Tumnus and Rewired. Went with the Tumnus, and very happy with it. The only thing making want the Rewired is Brent Mason and the thought it would magically make me play like Brent. Plus I only had room on my board for an average sized pedal. Haha

@@bouzoukiman5000 I bought a 1992 SRV Signature Strat back in college (probably my Sophmore year in ‘99). Cash, an amp, and my 1983 American Standard Tele traded for it. Needless to say, I didn’t start playing like SRV. Still have the guitar and love it, though.

Absolutely!! It's all about the chord your playing. The genius of Brett is all the bends, inversions and positions he can play for a given chord. Where the hell did he find those. He is by far the most gifted of all Nashville pickers

ima learn some country shit after being a shred metal guy my whole life. ez. first pedal point he does I try to play owns me hard af LOL!!!!!!!! it's those reinforced steel bends that I am not used to holding down and bending those positions. I have impeccable single note bend/vibrato/harmonic in yngwie/dimebag style, but trying to steel bend holding onto multiple strings and also bending/vibrato 1 note out of the 2 or 3, is tricky. It was really fun figuring out all the different pedal point bends u can do all over the key/fretboard in this style, haven't had this much fun learning/playing guitar in a while. actually amazing lesson very ez to follow, subbed.

I haven’t used this particular model- but I have a FSR Bordeaux 1x12” Princeton blackface reissue with a Jensen P12-Q, and it really is the best overall tube amp I’ve ever used. It came with solid wood construction, and I’ve never had to do anything to it. Sounds fantastic clean, sounds fantastic dirty, and doesn’t require pedals, 99% of the time I plug straight in for both clean and dirty tones. It does natural breakup at tolerable volume levels. And when dirty it sounds better than any overdrive pedal I’ve heard from Klon clones, to bluesbreakers, to tube screamers, to you name it. Idk why people think fenders are clean amps, must be because their amp is too powerful for their needs. A quick tip for anyone who doesn’t know: fender EQ is subtractive. If you want all the mids put the treble at 10 and the bass at 0, that bumps the mids way up, and you can roll off highs with your guitar knobs and get a marshally sound. And mine does natural breakup at living room levels. But if somebody wants the filth at a conversational level: Fender ‘68 custom Vibro Champ Reverb, I’d get an FSR with a 10”
