I don't think you can do it without an account. When you click the fic you want to read the Bookmark button will be on top click it then it'll ask you again to create a bookmark. Once it's done check by clicking your username you'll see the section that says Bookmarks

You'll see a next chapter button at the top and bottom of the story. If there isn't one there's no more story

Click subscribe then check the Social section of your email to see alerts. I use Gmail so sorry if your email doesn't have a social section. All ao3 alerts will be emailed though

ao3 uses html formatting for these things. when editing, there should be a question mark above the writing space where they demonstrate some html codes they accept, but you could also google different html codes and apply them to your writing! it's a learning curve but it gets easier once you learn it. good luck (:

@@kaitlynnsherwood4994 yeah, I used html and tested some of them (I am clueless about that lol) when I edited my FanFic again, I saw the html's so I learned it by that but I'm still clueless about the others-

@@wonthat okay so you see when the Word Text box when you're posting a new fic? Do you see the buttons Rich text and HTML? Click Rich text. Highlight the words you want to stylize then click the buttons near the top of the Word text box. The B stands for Bold, the I for italics etc.

For this question it's a bit too general so I'll direct you to the Ao3 faq where they have a detailed section called "Skin and Archive Interface". If you still have questions after browsing it I have no problems helping out. If youre just looking for a quick change then click your user name at the top of ao3 should say "Hi,[username]", on the drop down menu the last option is "My Preferences" click it. Scroll down, third gray box has Skins. Click either Public Site skins or the button under it that should say Default. They both give you Skin options. See which you like

You have to subscribe to the story with the button on the top, they email you every new chapter so check your Social tab in your email. You can also subscribe to your favorite authors

The only method I know is clicking the Get Invite button on the home page and waiting for an email. The website has FAQ section you could check too

There isn't a function for that. You can save my clicking Bookmark, Subscribe (to get updates of the story emailed to you) or Mark for later. All of these will save the story but you'll have to rely on your own memory or check your browser history for the exact chapter. When you Bookmark the story you can make notes and add your own tags so you can even put the last chapter there and keep updating it

To change the revealed/unrevealed or anonymous/non-anonymous settings for all works at once, go to the 'Settings' page for your collection, and untick the relevant boxes. To change these settings for a single work or only certain works in the collection, go to the 'Manage Items' page and untick the boxes for the relevant works there.

Hits=views/interaction/people that clicked the story, whatever way you want to think of it Kudos=Likes, you leave them by clicking the heart button at the bottom of the story

The red titles

First make sure you're logged in to your account. There's a Bookmark button at the top and bottom of each fic page. Click it and it'll take you to a separate page where you can add tags or your own summary. When you're done click Bookmark again and check your "My Bookmarks" to see if it's there.

Hey! So I don't recall getting this message, is this when you use the site on your phone or on desktop? Are you logged in or just viewing as guest? When the session expires is it bringing you to the home page instead of the story you were reading?

No worries, so after clicking a story you'll see a few buttons at the top, one says Bookmark. The Bookmark button will bring you to the bottom of the page where you can add your own summary and tags to the story. Dont forget to click the Create at the bottom to finish. Personally I reread a lot of stories so it's just easier to add my own summaries to find them again in My Bookmark page, located in the drop down menu when you click your username. If you want Updates on an incomplete story click the Subscribe button also located at the top of the story. Hope this helps! I've answered many other problems in the comments so try giving those a look too.

Well it's not a social media platform so you can't block people as far as I know. You can subscribe to story and authors tho.

@@irum4233 ahh sorry to hear that, please try again and make sure the email is correct. If it still doesn't work you'll have to contact their Support team

Hover over your user name to the top right corner. Click My Works. Click Edit for the story you want to add a chapter to. On the new edit page to the top right you'll see Add Chapter. Click it and proceed like you did to post your existing work. Hope that helps!

Well from the video you can see the home page says Invite a Friend the new home page says Get Invited. This is their sign up button

So take care to read each section on the Post New page carefully. The one you are looking for is the 3rd section called Associations. It's has parts like "Post to Collections" then "Gift this work to" then UNDER that there are 4 check boxes. Click the one that says "This work has multiple chapters" . You can choose to change the question mark to the number of chapter you envision having and you can change that number again whenever. Hope this helps!
