Sweating the small stuff as digital nomads in Da Nang, Vietnam
Is it possible to worry about every little thing as digital nomads on the road?
...yes. Yes, it is.
Here's our typical day as digital nomads in Da Nang with nothing to prove as too growns in their 40s. This is how I rated my anxiety over very bump in the road. Hopefully you'll learn why I'm an idiot and this is mostly a waste of time.
But when you're anxious and adventuring, there's no problem too small to fret over. From solo Grab rides to leaving my cheap phone attended, I worried about it all.

The chill digital nomad life in Hanoi is surprisingly possible
มุมมอง 273ปีที่แล้ว
We're 2 digital nomads over 40 and the party hostel life is way beyond us now, but we were still surprised that our life in Hanoi could be chill. The city is manic, and coming here in peak summer was a wild mistake and we completely underestimated the impact of 40 degrees day after day. Nonetheless, here's a day in our life as 2 growns, living and working in Hanoi.
Is Hanoi a good idea if you're a risk-averse digital nomad in your 40s?
มุมมอง 100ปีที่แล้ว
This is how we spent a low-key weekend in Hanoi as 2 digital nomads who live life on the mild side. We're in our 40s, relatively clueless, but doing our best as we travel around Asia indefinitely, following the beaten path. Right now we are in Vietnam working Monday to Friday for companies back home in Australia and weekends are the time to get to know the city. We intelligently opted to live i...
A day in the life of a digital nomad in Bangkok following the beaten path
มุมมอง 288ปีที่แล้ว
When the 'feels like' weather hit 48 degrees, I wondered if Bangkok was a wise choice in May. But digital nomad life in my 40s is essentially one clueless choice after another, and I'm just doing my best. Follow along. Or not, that's ok too.
A day in the life in Osaka Japan for 2 risk-averse digital nomads in their 40s
มุมมอง 233ปีที่แล้ว
Hi, we're 2 digital nomads following the beaten path around Asia and here is a typical day in our lives working and living abroad with no particular plan. This month we hit Osaka, Japan. After Tokyo we had zero expectations of Osaka and were surprised by how much we loved it. Possibly more than Tokyo?? I'm not sure if we're allowed to say that. We work Australian hours-ish, so our typical work ...
What to do in Tokyo when you're risk-averse digital nomads over 40 with 2 days off
มุมมอง 174ปีที่แล้ว
With 2 unexpected days off in Tokyo, we decided to take a walk on the mild side by hitting up TeamLab Planets (SO good! Flooded on social media for a reason), walks through Harajuku and Yoyogi Park, dinner out in Shinjuku, god damn Starbucks runs, walks through Naka-Meguro, Izakaya visits (some good, some not so good) and trains, so many trains. We're Christina and Zayn, 2 child-free digital no...
A day in the life of 2 risk-averse digital nomads living and working in Japan.
มุมมอง 316ปีที่แล้ว
We're Christina and Zayn, 2 clueless but curious digital nomads doing our best as we live and work throughout Asia. We've just arrived in Tokyo and this is a typical day in our life here. Our work day starts at 6am (we're required to stick closely to Australian 9-5 hours, we're not that keen) and we are based at WeWork (for convenience more than anything). Our favourite non-work activity seems ...
A day in the life of 2 digital nomads in Bali quietly following the beaten path
มุมมอง 100ปีที่แล้ว
We're over 40 and relatively clueless, but we are doing our best as we follow the beaten path through Bali as 2 digital nomads with nothing much too prove. We based ourselves in Ubud (with short detours to Canggu and Uluwatu) and couldn't imagine being anywhere else in Bali. It took us a good 2 months to settle in, after 4 months we got slightly itchy feet, and by 6 months we never wanted to le...
How we spent Bali's Silent Day doing next to nothing, achieving little, but enjoying the experience?
มุมมอง 50ปีที่แล้ว
Nyepi Day, or Silent Day, is the Bali tradition where the entire island grinds to a halt - no planes can land or leave, shops are closed (even the convenience stores that look like they never turn off their lights), and roads are blocked. We won't lie, it brought back lockdown flashbacks from early 2020 and certain slothful behaviours showed up (eating for entertainment, afternoon naps, staring...
A chill weekend in Ubud, Bali when you're risk-averse digital nomads who tend to panic easily.
มุมมอง 84ปีที่แล้ว
When you're an easily startled digital nomad in your 40s following the beaten path, weekends are usually pretty chill affairs. This weekend was our usual in Ubud, Bali - eating, studying, swimming, hunting down the good air con, wandering around in a quasi daze, achieving very little, the way we like it.
How to scooter like a safety nerd in Bali - 10 tips to not die
มุมมอง 41ปีที่แล้ว
Scooting is a way of life here in Bali and we had no choice but to get with the program. These are our top 10 pieces of (unsolicitied) advice for those new to riding a scooter, particularly hesitant girlies without a death wish. We cover thinking (more) about your insurance, why gloves will save you, how to literally go with the flow, and why you must never be fooled by the roundabouts here (sp...
Strolling Ubud's hidden walkways: Best walking along the beaten path
มุมมอง 18ปีที่แล้ว
We're Christina and Zayn, we're two digital nomads following the beaten path in Ubud Bali (for now). Zayn likes watching videos of planes taking off and I go for walks in the sun with an umbrella - this basically sums up who we are and what stage of life we're enterting. When we first arrived in Ubud, we went walking in the town centre like idiots, not realising you have to go off piste to find...
A weekend in Bangkok when you're risk-averse digital nomads who tend to panic easily.
มุมมอง 131ปีที่แล้ว
We're Christina and Zayn, two digital nomads following the beaten path. From Friday night to Sunday afternoon, we explore Bangkok like the 2 risk-averse people on the cusp of middle age that we are. It's low key, we see the sights, we eat the food, we sweat the small stuff. Follow along on our anxious adventures.
Digital nomad life and co-working in Cairns, Australia
มุมมอง 562 ปีที่แล้ว
We're 2 digital nomads without a clue. We have anxiety, but we're doing our best. We have spent the past three months working remotely from Cairns, Australia in a co-working space. This is our take on the digital nomad scene in far north Qld (spoiler: we found no evidence of it) and co-working at The Bunker. Follow us on Instagram: @the_anxious_adventurers
