I am a mother of two wonderful boys, Alexander ("Alex", 4) and Oliver ("Ollie", 2). I enjoy sharing short synopses of my life and sharing helpful things I've learned along my journey to clean health. I am obsessed with health and wellness- learning new things about health and the natural things grown right from the earth to heal our bodies and promote well-being. My husband and I, Chris, always find ourselves doing different DIY projects. In this episode of Travel Vlogs we travel to the majestic Tahquamenon Falls in Paradise, MI. We rented a Class A RV and stayed at the Lower Falls State Campground. Here we were just a 1 mile hike through nature to be welcomed to the beautiful lower falls.
From the lower falls you can hike an additional 4 miles to the upper falls, but we opted to drive a vehicle to the upper falls park and walk from there which was about 1 a mile hike from the parking lot.
We went the first week of October because this is typically the peak color time for the trees in the Upper Peninsula. It made for some spectacular scenery on the drive up as well as around the falls. Our friends join us, and it made for a great time for the kids to have a friend to play with, someone to hike with and then wrap up our evenings around a warm campfire.

Abby…….you guys did an amazing job!!!! Love it!!!! However, I wish you had shown us a little more of the interior as well as the exterior. Would have like to have seen the toilet and inside of the shower, wanted to see what that extra bottom bunk bed looked like fully extended, and wanted to actually see how spacious the inside of your cabinets were. 😉

Can you please talk about the process of laying flooring under the slides? I'm worried that my slide will scratch the new floors. Mine has carpet right now, but the slide dips when coming in and out.

AWESOME! Question about windows... I'm planning on renovating my RV - so just finding these reno vids. Question about window coverings. A LOT of folks have awesome curtain ideas (like kitchen towels hanging). BUT - they don't cover the window. There are no blinds. There are no blackout blinds. ??? Anyone can look in at night - even with modern 'blackout' windows and shades, I'm still a little sensitive to anyone being able to see in. So - do you have blinds at all? What's that solution you've found that goes with the AWEESOME esthetic you' have both built in there? (love it by the way!)
I am anticipating sewing my camper blinds here soon; I purchased actual black out fabric from hobby lobby to sew onto the back of regular fabric for curtains. You can also find thick weave fabric that naturally gives privacy. I hope that helps!

Unfortunately it doesn't look like they're making this exact one anymore, I can't find it. It is just a smaller 10 cu ft refrigerator, but still a huge upgrade in size from the original RV refrigerator.

Your filming is amazing! Do you mind sharing what camera and editing software you use? I’ve wanted to take my vlogs to the next level but haven’t had the know how or patience...takes a lot of work! Tahquemenon falls are gorgeous; I’ve been there a few times. ☺️
For this video we used a DJI Osmo Pocket 4k, and a DJI Mavic Air 2 Drone. It was our first time to Tahquemenon, it was gorgeous for sure!

Did you guys do a video on how you replaced the flooring? We have a Keystone with that same slide setup. I HATE having carpet and would love to copy your flooring. Your RV looks so pretty now. #jealous
We have not done a video on that unfortunately. We used a vinyl plank waterproof flooring. At the slide we ran the flooring under the slideout a couple inches when full extended and ran a bead of liquid nails to keep in held in place. The rest of the floor was just floating to allow some flexibility and movement during travel. Flooring the slide itself was a little tricky doing a transition. We ended up having to use a strong super glue to hold down the transition pieces along the edge of the slideout (we originally used liquid nails and it broke loose after several in and out slides).

The dish towels were something I found a local retail store like Walmart 🙂
