I use canon 5d mark iv and i upgraded to canon r3 but the 5d best than r3 , i really love 5d and i can’t get order without it

I have the 5d mark 4 and the only reason to really upgrade is the 4k and the focus seems better but for a 2022 the r6 should be far better

I started with an AE-1 when they were new; still have a beautiful F1n and a good bit of ED glass. Still shoot film as that approach to photography makes one consider and compose prior to pressing the shutter. Todays camera's are something just short of magic! I bought a 5D MKII new, when they were released plus, I have a good bit of EF-L glass collected over the years. The 5DII has an exposure and autofocus issues and Canon won't repair it, too old. In truth, it's not cost effective as used are about $250 - $300'ish. So, although I looked fairly hard at an R6 w/ RF->EF adaptor, I don't give a whit about video so I chose a used 5D IV from KEH.

Hello, seems like you purchased it exactly for the same reason I'm looking for it 😅. Its quite a rare focal length somehow, and it seems people use it for macro shots my ore than anything, has it been any good for portraiture? Or at least, for whatever you were shooting at that wedding?

Girls, I am a very old man for you. That's why I don't flirt. You are very beautiful and gifted girls. I liked your performance. I've used both lenses and I can tell for sure. f1,4 is very heavy, but the side is softer, they have the same sharpness. I have experience using f1.8 in winter, full-length portraits in the snow in the park, very bright colors on children's clothes and lots of details, sparks of joy in their eyes, snowflakes on scarves and mittens. I wish you Happiness and success.

The quality of those close ups blew me away.

I actually liked the colors out of the F1.8 better than the 1,4.

why do I need to set the shutter for 1/800 of a second? in good weather, 1/320 of a second is enough for any movement. why set the iso value to 250. sunny day, good iso light is not needed at all..

Can you make a preset file for this?

Currently, I use a 70-200 and a 24-70 for events and weddings, but I am considering experimenting with prime lenses such as the 35mm and 85mm to challenge myself.

All 5D Series including last 5DMKIV Image Quality and Excellent Build Quality (Alloy Magnesium) are FAR better than this crappy Canon R6 plastic Feel crap. I Can't Stand of R6 and R5 and Don't Care. What a Shame!! Canon figured out they need to cut out money in build quality.

1.4 seemed to be sharper with more contrast and a creamier background.

1500$ 400$ 2000$ ppl still edit their photos..on this logic a chip lens it s ok everytime asslong you edit ur photos anyway

Did you need to correct a lot of fringing on the 1.8? Looking to get one for Portrait (Automotive) photography.

For me…the IS feature of the 1.4 is all important. I have shaky hands anyway and getting shakier as I age. I’m shopping for a mint used copy. Wish me luck.

Great shots. Lovely model with magical light! Getting my first mirrorless full frame camera tomorrow united with my 85mm f/1.4. I’m a bit excited to be honest… my current 6D mark II is sometimes not able to handle the 1.4 😅 love to get everything out of this beautiful lens. Thanks for the great comparison!
