Hello, and welcome to the official Matt’s Trains TH-cam channel! Here you will find videos of all different types of trains, big and small. I film all kinds of videos on my O gauge model train layout! I’m also a railfan and like to film videos on my trips to various railroads. US Sugar #148 - The Sugarfest Express
On Saturday, March 16th, the annual Clewiston Sugar Festival was being held in downtown Clewiston Florida. In addition to food, vendors, and live music, US Sugar #148 was also under steam and the star of the Sugarfest Express! These short 1-hour excursions would take passengers from the Clewiston shops, and out into the cane fields for a scenic ride through Hendry County. For the railfans, today was special, as 148 was equipped with a 6-chime steam whistle, formally used on sister locomotive, FEC #153. 153‘s voice hasn’t been heard in the Clewiston area in over 70 years and though it did take a bit to sound right (as you’ll hear in some of the shots) it was such a beautiful sound that could be heard echoing for miles. So sit back, relax, and enjoy US Sugar #148 on the point of the Sugarfest Express!

Very nice layout 👍🏻 I like 4x8 Layouts. They are easier to maintain than a big layout. My layout is 6x9
I thought I commented on this video before, but I guess I didn't. I live in a mobile home and currently have a 5x11 layout. This video gives me some ideas. Eventually I want to get an outside building and make it into a large train room for something bigger.

@@mattstrains416 In a similar fashion to how D&RGW 491 tends to chant "Al-a-mo-sa, Al-a-mo-sa..." as she goes up the grade, I like to imagine 148 does the same. 148 tends to go really fast at times, so I imagine her engineer's just like "No, we're not going over the Key West extension, sweetheart..." and he backs the throttle down a bit. All the while, a very pissed off 148 is screaming "CAYO HUESO CAYO HUESO CAYO HUESO!!!" as she speeds along the line. (Cayo Hueso being Spanish for Key West)

Forgive my intrusion but why didn't you run the train thru the layout? That is a beautiful layout you have there and I am searching for ideas for my 10x12 ft table. Thank for posting this. I would have really loved to see that train run, You really took care in what accessories you put in your layout and I like all of your choices. Thanks again. Take care.
Did the golden state f a's have a horn in it and do you know where you can get the express reefer box car
I think they do have a horn, I just couldn’t get it to work for the video. As for the reefer, I’m not sure. Probably on eBay

I’ve got just the GS6 for this train which I run with the K Line aluminum scale cars which I converted the lighting to flicker free LED ‘s and added a bunch of both seated and standing passengers ! By far one of my favorite Glamor trains of the 20th century ! I love your video and I’m a long time K Line admirer !
90% of my trains are post and pre war. A few years back I purchased a used Lionel Yankee with Proto 3. I could get it to run off my Lionel CW-80, but not very well. I assume MTH built the train and put Lionel's name on it. I finally purchased a used MTH, DCS Remote Commander and a MTH brick to replace the old transformer when I am running the Yankee and boy is it fun! t takes a few minutes to swap out power supplies, but I will get used to it.

I have a rare Lionel oo scale Strasburg 4-6-4 no 90 with box cars
There are a couple of more cars in that series. There is a Golden Outlook vista dome (SP), and a Golden Lyre (RI). I think there is a total of 10 cars. I didn't know about the B unit. K-Line also had an 18" series that had detailed interiors.

4' by 8' is not a lot of room for an O gauge layout. Looks to me like you have done a really good job with the space you have.

Nice little layout Matt! I live in a mobile home and am only running 4 by 8 myself .i am running 0-27 tubular track. That's the beauty of a "toy" train layout. Don't have to worry about everything being scale or prototypical. Just have fun and enjoy your trains!

1950 popular music would fit the most to make the tràins like the era when Lionel tràins were made for Christmas ànd when all the toy stores sold them.
