Short answer. NO. You need one decoder per powered unit. I was going to do both powered locomotives but found 1 is more than sufficient to pull all 10 cars. I removed the PS1 guts in the 2nd one and now it is a roller. I can power it in the future. With the tether between the ABA intact, I can control the headlights in the rear unit. Hope that helps.

Thanks Roger. I also love that train. I looked for those cars for years and this summer they basically fell into my lap thru a friend. A Blunami conversion in a PS1 locomotive is the way to go. Blunami has a bunch of really cool features too to play with.

@@kstrains thanks for the kind words. I agree, the Snow Flake Limited is one of my favorite trains. They only see the tracks in December. A lot of the Christmas trains seem to sell out quickly. Merry Christmas to you too!

Thanks Paul. My club uses Krylon “camo colors” available at most Lowes or Home Depot. These are the full size spray cans. Mostly the color is the camo brown with a little camo black here and there. Finally, a light dusting of weathering powders mixed with alcohol to tone everything down a little. It sounds complicated but very easy to do. My large home layout I just used the Krylon paint only. Hope that helps.

@ You are welcome Paul. Also, check out my other videos I have of my home layout to look at the track too. I usually “clean” off the rail with a rag or paper towel and rubbing alcohol. It cleans good and evaporates quickly. Using the brown spray, I then do both sides of the outside rails. I also paint the black center rail. That is up to you. What is important is to clean off the top of the rail with a rag wrapped around a small piece of wood that you can slide across the top of the rail. If you do not get all the paint off, do not worry. Let it dry and wipe it off with a little lacquer thinner or paint thinner. With the black, just spray some random shots here and there. Trust me, it will look great! Any questions, just ask.
