A thousand thanks to whoever sent this performance into my youtube video stream again. It has been three years since my last comment. I have tried to watch other productions of this opera, but i can't. Other singers of the role of Nabucco seem to be shouting, screaming, or bellowing. Milnes does none of these. Milnes sings. ❤❤❤

This is a fine version of this famous duet. However, I'm drawn to the version of Bjorling and Merrill which , in my opinion, is more electrifying and dynamic. Bjorling admitted in the mid-1950's that he wasn't ready for the the role of Otello but the pair decided to give this duet a try. The result is wonderful and gives an insight into what a fine Otello Bjorling would have made. Merrill has more voice quality than Milnes who I saw in London in the title role of Rigoletto. Still, it's all about opinions.

Alfredo Kraus squillante voce cuts through the orchestra nicely. Soon after this, his voice wasn’t the same. His technique wasn’t that perfect after all. And don’t tell me it was due to aging, when the great tenors of the past sang past their primes with their voices intact. Lauri-Volpi, Gigli etc etc

Have had this video since it came out. Love Milnes who I saw in concert. So awesome. One of my favorite operas. Then I so lucky to see Franco Corelli it it!!

do you like that he molested as many of his fellow female singers that he could. he would stalk, harass, threaten them with job loss unless they co operated, they all knew never to get into an elevator with Domingo. he gave one woman 10 dollars for parking and said, I didn't want to leave a lot and make you feel like a whore. he visited Argentina often because prostitution is legal there, he would say bring the little girls up the back way (a recorded telephone conversation) he cant sing, he strains and drools, and forces his muffled gargle voice trying to sing as well as pavarotti, whom he was alway jealous of. 20 girls came forward with molesting charges, and he was banned in the US. he should be banned every where, he is disgusting.
