Enchanted Forest Walk Around Pitlochry 2023
Who in their right mind thought the mass building of sprawling concrete jungles would entice people to actually like living there when you consider how many of them have now been demolished.
The days when Glasgow was for it's citizens(of all races and religions). Now, the middle class gentrify working class areas squeezing our culture out whilst Glasgow City Council use the 'toon' as a theme park for tourists polishing it like a bright button whilst working class areas are left run down with cuts masquerading by this biodiversity rubbish. I weep for what Glesga has become.

All that white privilege
Wouldn't the sound of the fire engine have been bells?
Would have been better without the sound effects. Before 1963 fire engines had bells, not sirens ! Notice how filthy the buildings were as a result of coal fires.
Some lf the stuff in thsi video is gone now 😢
Thanks for your upload 👍
Guidjin wan baw , ye mairrit that track beautifully tae some great foties . A loata memories in some a them fur me . Ma 1st quality stereo fae Lizars , great nights in the Scotia .
That's when it was Glasgow
photos with sounds is great.
I'll say this much .. Glasgow has always did pollution and neglect of the city better than others !
Galbraith stores!
Even today ,when i see sights and images of Glasgow ...i despair ! The decades of underfunding and neglect from the people in office is hitting home now and quite frankly the city has turned into a hovel . We are a first world city in a first world country - a wealthy country - yet to look at most of Glasgow in 2024 gives the impression of poverty , failure and dereliction . Rat and rodent infested streets are commonplace, where after COVID-19 ,you would think that cleanliness and hygiene would be of paramount importance . I cant be the only one from Glasgow with these worries of my home city ...can i ?
How dare you call Glaswegians rats and rodents 😂
Not the same anymore 😕
Went to school with folk from sighthill, and best made moved to Hutchinson town late 70s. Brought back a lot of memories. And bizarrely, my mas boyfriend demolished, pinkston power station. Got a shot on the cran with the recking ball. Great fun. Thanks.
I was brought up in Peebles Street. As the Gorbals people used to say, Glasgow Corporation done more damage than the Luftwaffe! Criminal.
@ 0.32 I was told by my mum that there was a zoo here. I believed her. Convicing others was difficult. Another set of fantastic photos.
Fantastic😊
Fantastic.
Love the 3D tint
Excellent,i'll look at more of your stuff now 👍
I remember the coal man - same cart&clydesdale. Also the scrap man came round - any old iron??- and the tinker mending pots and pans etc. And the gas lamp lighter lighting up the closes.
Magic.
I came from Florence Street in the Gorbals in Glasgow in the Sixties and seventies and when you look at some of the Buildings that could have been saved from demolition and renovated it really is a disgrace what the planners did, not just in the Gorbals but all over the City, just saying from Glasgow 😎🇬🇧
But with butcher's apron flag? 🤔
They practically ruined Glasgow pulling down beautiful buildings and putting up monstrosities.mostly they destroyed Glasgow's communities sending folk out to places like drumchapel and castlemilk, places with no character.
My Family,The Gallacher's stayed in Florence Street in the 50s/60s....up 2 closes side by side , nine families ,on my mother's side. My Dad's side ...9 families ,all surrounding there, Camden street, Scotland Street, Cumberland Street, Hospital Street...etc A childhood that the young today won't ever experience! It was great,...hard ,but it was real living!!!!............ Don't envy the young today!!!
Was just thinking that : our Architectural legacy feckin bulldozed for those high rise flats … like yourself I could greet at the wanton destruction : spotted some beautiful buildings that should have been saved. Awe well 😵💫🤷
The first pic is of the primary school my uncle (born 1936) attended: Abbottsford Place Primary School. Which has now, as part of their "takeover", been handed over to KORANIMALS by treacherous leftard politicians, & now has a koranimal name. As has another school I know of, which used to be "Bellahouston Academy". (At 1:50- two "comedy figures" at the bottom right.)
It's not called Bella anymore? "Hamas academy" probably
Abbotsford Primary: Now the Al Khalil College. Have you seen the state of the place? The playground is like a building site. The owners aren't maintaining the place. Surprise surprise!
@@kensharonyoga but it's a great location to daily gang enrich white girls though I suspect
I was watching out for my dad's car in some of those photos. Lived in Govanhill so passed through these streets on a regular basis.
WOW, what a trip down memory lane, my school and area where I grew up...thank you so much.!
How beautiful was the Chester landscape in 1836 (as everywhere else in the world). You can't help being sad at all the lost space and land.
fascinating... I regret not travelling to Chester when I live in England for ten years from 2004... maybe one day!
Hi. I loved your video walk. Love and study English history. I have one suggestion. For those of us who don’t know Chester history, it may help to put a compass in the lower right hand corner which shows your walking direction. Thanks again. Tracey Denver CO
Thanks for the tip!
I've been driving a Black Taxi for 40yrs, I just retired and the City has changed so much in all that time, but I still love my City, just saying from Glasgow 😊🇬🇧😎
Govanhill when it was a desirable place to live.
Langholm Street in Yoker was mental
Could've Made The Writing A Bit Bigger So We Could Read The Area's That Were Shown😢
Ahhh,Pinkston power station/canal area was my childhood playground, best walks with my daddy, thank you for posting!💥💥💥
A tear to my eye. Beautiful music, so apt ❤️
Love this. Thank you👏
From 1945 to 1953 I lived with my parents and 3 brothers at 517 Dalmarnock Rd in Bridgeton then moved to Toryglen. In 1960 we moved to Toronto. I love what Glasgow made me and made me remember where I came from, enough to become a Developer to provide better places for others to live than I grew up in, but wouldn't change it for the World..
I’m originally from Glasgow and served my time renovating the old tenements in Govan, it was great so many were saved as they were built by master builders, obviously back in the day there was a massive rush also to build high rise housing which are now gone, the sad thing is today I’m working on building high rise in Australia, they’re so sought after, they have secured entry, swimming pools , cinema areas, gymnasiums, rooftop barbecue areas, secure parking etc , when I look at the effort that it takes to construct a high rise and then gone in an instant with a stick of dynamite on reflection it seems as great a folly as destroying the grand old Tenements !
Ahh,your so right Andrew,I lived in Brisbane for 20 yrs,was amazed at the scale of the Gold Coast High rises, pure luxury, never affordable unless you won the lotto, haaaa! But live in Yoker now,Dumbarton rd,great big tenement, sturdy as hell, widnae swap it for Oz ever.way to hot, prefer the cooler weather!😎💥🙋♀️
@@jackiemcnairn3594 You should see Brisbane now, towers going up everywhere, the bit that gets you is they’re sold before they’re built, the new Queens Wharf looks pretty cool too, you’re right about the weather, this summers been a shocker, so humid, am greetin in my beer thinking about Scotlands nice cool weather, all the best Jackie, Slainte!
May Day Parade Victoria Rd....NOT ONE turban, burka ,pyjama man or Romanuan thief. Fight with yoyr vote and get them out!
the thumbnail of the new concrete dwellings must have been built by the same firm who built Killingworth towers North Tyneside, they lasted 18 years from people moving in to being demolished, I was in a load of the flats and they were freezing, soaking wet walls, mould and mushrooms grew everywhere, the windows leaked rain and the wind blew under the walls into the flats, when the reinforcement rods in the concrete rusted lumps of concrete fell off the exterior walls size of bin lids demolishing a few cars and scaring the s**t out of passersby, its fair to say they were not popular, so many were empty if you wanted one you kicked the door in moved in and the then went down the council and told them you had moved in then they would sort a rent book out for you not that anyone ever paid anything, never seen any immigrants or foreign refugees in them just white British refugees. Not North Tyneside Council's greatest moment, £millions£ wasted, and it was all because of bribes with Poulson, T.D Smith, McCullock and the rest of the council's corrupt planning department, some got jailed but many got rich and invested the money in retirement homes (the new money-making scam back then)
The thumbnail is the old gorbals and yes, those flats were grim.
These are some great photos but give us more time to take them in. Heilanmans umbrella especially, that is rare. Publish a book.
you can slow it down in settings
@@thedoc1210 thanks, I'll give it a try
Dear Green Place, 💙
Old Glasgow of the 1950s and 60s had it own unique atmosphere. I've traveled all over the UK and US, and there's nowhere like Glasgow. It was unique.
The buildings in the Bronx in the 60's and 70's had less pollution ingrained into them than the Glasgow one's . Where is the Glasgow evolution of infrastructure today in 2024 ? All I see today is underfunding , neglect , filth and Glaswegians being highly embarrassed at our city .
Agree, it is a total disgrace.

Maybe could haven given us longer to look at the photies. They are very interesting.
One thing I do like in so many of the pictures is the lack of motor vehicles.
