You aren’t humble, you’re just poor | Learn to have confidence
It’s easy to be humble when you have nothing to brag about anyway. It is equally as easy to be humble when everyone already knows your accomplishments without you needing to say anything. People often believe humility means playing small. You never make money by playing small. You have to have audacity to think you deserve more than what the average person gets. What you call audacity or entitlement is the norm in upper class spaces.

    If you wanna get tatted up go with something like japanesse traditional and find a actual artist who was trained up in it the traditional way. There’s a lot of history and meaning behind it and it’s a beautiful form of art. You also never see that style. It shows that you put a lot of thought and effort into what you want on your body. It’s also a subtle way to show wealth, you’re paying like 6k when it’s all said and done. They take a lot of time and effort to do. These artists also have long wait lists. And more importantly they never go down anywhere that you’d be able to see them if you had a suit. My artist says he tattoos a lot of lawyers and business types. Granted finding an artist won’t be easy you can’t just walk into any tattoo shop and ask for it, but I think that just adds to the class of it. You may end up needing to travel across the country or if you really are about it across the world. There’s not too many people who can do that style THE RIGHT WAY. There’s a lot of people attempting it but they weren’t actually trained up in Japan. I can tell the difference between someone who’s artist attempted it vs someone who’s artist learned the right way.

    And I will add being humble is being loyal’s kissing cousin. On another note, unfortunately women and girls (especially Black) are criticized and demonized for being confident and knowing we are the best as well as most educated. I wish this didn’t exist.

    I work the oil rigs and my best friend is on Wall Street. I wish I’d binged these videos before his wedding not after. But I did notice one trend among everyone who he had there and it was that they were all very good people. I think at a certain level everyone wants to filter out the people who are gonna cause you problems. There’s this misconception that in these circles you can’t trust anyone and I’m sure there are people like that out there, but I don’t believe it’s the norm. Why would you keep someone around you who you can’t trust. That just brings in a whole new level of risk of them causing problems causing you to loose everything you worked for.

  • @neilwalkercomedy
    @neilwalkercomedy วันที่ผ่านมา

    The more you have to loose the less inclined you would be to violence. You can’t act out and crash out like an idiot when you actually have a lot you’ve worked for. If you don’t have much to loose you stand a lot more to gain relative to what you have to loose when it comes to a physical fight.

    This is how you spot first generation oil money. You can take the man out of the rig but you can’t take the rig out of the man. Self made oil money has a distinct look you can spot in areas with lots of drilling. Doesn’t matter what they’re wearing. You can kinda just tell. A lot of the guys who own those smaller oil companies and have the higher paying roles got their start roughnecking. This video perfectly explains it. Their kids do not have that look. There’s that and the fact that they make sure to tell you how they for their start in the world. I remember meeting a girl who anyone would describe as upper classes father and he made sure to let all of us know not to be fooled he was an oil rigger who wasn’t to be fucked with. We were all teenagers I’m very sure he doesn’t carry himself that way in the board room.

  • @TommyStrategic

    I think people may confuse humility with modesty. I had a job where I was being told over and over that I was one of the best they had. I gracefully accepted the compliments (modesty) without pointing out that I am that guy (hubris) or pretending I had no idea I was doing good work (humility). During the pandemic, though, I was in a bind, and had to take a huge cut in pay to stay with the company, essentially giving them excellence for free without complaint (humility). I got another job more aligned with the pay I was used to and with opportunity for growth, and though I have gifts that others don’t, I don’t indulge compliments, even when my work is way above grade (modesty) - can’t ruffle the wrong feathers. On my résumé, though, I’m immodest, and either they get it or they don’t.

    The anthropologist who coined the term alpha male van der vaals actually stated that the alpha male is an empathetic leader who looks out for the weak in the tribe and that its conservative media that have co-opted the term to push their own agenda. In fact in certain primates the alpha is actually a woman for that species

    As a non black person who was educated in the US but doesn’t live there I think it’s interesting that black people attach so many normal “positive” things to white things that they should not do just to not be white or as a form of protest. Building wealth is a neutral thing it’s humans who are adding layers of meaning to it. Now of course I know slavery exists and also de facto segregation and discrimination in housing and banking and even infrastructure look at hurricane Katrina. BUT getting richer or joining the upper class is just a neutral goal. And also it’s plain ignorance for them to associate blackness with poverty. There are and have been extremely wealthy black people from the beginning of civilization

      Connect first. You want to ask a friend for a job, not a stranger. I’m challenging the opposite strategy - going up to people expecting the job first. This is often called cold approach / warm approach. That is the search term to use if you want to go down the rabbit hole

    TOO MANY people LACK basic ETIQUETTE. Start there, BEFORE even attempting to converse with anyone. When you approach someone that you're NOT acquainted with, say, "EXCUSE ME, MAY I ask you a question," and once you've obtained that person's PERMISSION to speak with them, proceed. People of means and higher status pay attention to your etiquette and manners, first and foremost. That is what determines whether or not they would even be interested in engaging in conversation with you to begin with. You can't buy Class and you definitely can't FAKE IT. REAL will ALWAYS recognize REAL.
