Flew on this old girl plenty of times to & from Afghanistan . Brilliant aircraft..

I flew on an LTU L1011 on round-trips from LAX Los Angeles to Frankfurt Germany in 1982 and 1990. Great experience on all the flights. The return trip from Frankfurt was a short trip to Dusseldorf, then non-stop to San Francisco, and finally terminating at LAX. Window seats all the way. I wonder if my planes has been recycled into aluminum soda cans???

I was there too. Amazing aircraft. This L-1011 is heavily modified to launch rockets into space.

This rare occurrence is something seen often here in Dubai, Emirates A380s taking off back to back sometimes more than three.....yes magnificent aircraft, flew to Mumbai once.

You mean this happened YESTERDAY!? I wish I had known; I would''ve driven out thede. I always tried to book L1011s when they were passenger planes. So beautiful and so smooth and quiet. They probably use too much gas, but oh, I miss them so much. PS folks they wete called "Ell Ten-Eleven".

Honestly every time I see something emergency to do with the A350, 777, 787, A320, A380 I'm always never even worried. For me, these are the legends when it comes to safety, they really deliver and work the way they were meant to. Even the JAL A350 that caught fire after a landing collision, that bird handled itself well and delivered 100% its safety rating. Now, I can't say the same thing about the 737, especially the Maxes but I have a feeling after all its misfortunes, the MAX is gonna be the safest bird to fly in in the future.
