Funny.. My '12 Boss 302 never encountered this all these years. Under the roadrunner engine has quite a few different internals though.. interesting.
I used rislone the old school blue stuff works great..
So I put the 10 quarts of amsoil in my S650 as that has had good luck removing it but after a few days I can hear the tick here and there it’s not constant and it’s not bbq tick but is this ceretec 500ml or whatever going to overfill the crankcase? I’ve read for my car people say use 2 bottles
I only use 1 bottle on my gen 2 calls for 8.8qts I’m not to familiar on the s650 oil capacity but i see no issue in giving it a shot
Mine is a 23 Gt 4,300 miles and its ticking. Ford said its the high pressure fuel injection

where did you get the drive shaft from? love the build
It a custom made one from a local driveshaft shop mine measured at 47 1/2 in long from center to center on flanges
What cam are you running?
Summit stage 4 turbo cam
@Zaysnipes sounds good. I have that cam in my turbo 6.0. Mine should sound better once it's tuned some more I would imagine.

Thanks man and I would go Holley terminator for engine and transmission management if u need trans control for the rest of the stock stuff as long as u keep the Ecu and factory fuse box powered up by the key everything else will work like stock
Thx. Going Built 200 4r w carb - daytona sensors ignition controller. 200 4r is nearly identical to T400 in length. May stick w Fi and do Holley ecu but want the 4 SPD of.

I have the same noise, but only when applying the throttle, it also gets faster or slower depending on the raising or lowering of revs. Any idea guys? It doesnt do it at idle and started after an oil change moving to 5W30
Sounds like an internal issue if it happening with rpm could be a lifter could be timing related or at worst u have a bearing going out if u want to just try this stuff out and see if it helps I would before going deeper
I have a quick question…are you still using the brake booster and if so do you have a hose ran to the motor?
Yes I am I ran the stock brake boost hose that came on my Ls truck intake manifold and plugs right into my factory booster hose spot brakes work just like stock
I have a 2011 F-150 5.0, and a 2013 Boss 302. Neither engine has ever developed a tick. 146k on the truck, and 5,500 on the Mustang. Use 5w30 full syn hi mileage in the truck, and Royal Purple 20w50 in the Boss.
Crazy that I have a jaguar 5.0 and I’m having the same problems. I know ford owned jaguar for a bit but it’s not even the same engine 😭😭

just did my first oil change since i got my 17 gt and it started ticking just like this switched from 5w20 to 5w30 so i assume thats what probably caused it thanks for the help

If u have a 2 step yes it recommended but I do not have a 2 step these are just flames on decel
it piston slap I be dam aluminator 5.0L engine n/a 12:1 compression & oil rings is the fix 😊
Nearly all 5.0s suffer the coyote tick when switching from 5w-20 to 5w-30 or thicker.
Yeah. I have the tick and I tried ceretec. It ticked when I used the 5w20 and 5w30
But I know it’s caused from the lifters and cams. So ima replace them and see if it works😂
@@williamsargent2231 The service bulletin from Ford says it comes from the bell housing area.
Do u have a gen 3 if so your tick most likely comes for your direct injectors
Quick question so do I use ceratec only when I get a fresh oil done? Or can I just pour it in anytime, I believe my oil life is at 88% got done about a month ago can I still use it or have to get new fresh oil?
U can put it in anytime I use it during every oil change and do not believe that oil percentage get an oil change every 4500-5k miles now other might do it sooner your choice but go by mileage not that percentage
Is it possible to plumb the air conditioner? Thats the only thing keeping me from pulling the trigger.
Yes u can make your own ac hoses or have a local shop that can cut and make some custom lines and u can retain ac same as heat and power steering
@@Zaysnipes yea it sounds doable, another guy who did the swap said he bought more ac line, chopped of the end block and tig welded on the Chevy AC line which I should be able to do.

Ive been considering LS Swapping my 05 Mustang 4.0 Convertible but i have a few concerns, is there a way to keep my accessories working? ac/heat radio And convertible top?
All my factory accessories work window/security/radio everything except the stock gauge which I removed now u can do the wiring to make them work just wasn’t something I needed when going with Holley u get a digital dash with the kit now for ac and power steering u have to make customs lines to hook up but for heat that just two hose to the pump easy hook up convertible top has nothing to do with the swap that all electric on the body control which would work just like a radio and other simple things

Same exact situation...I'm getting ready to install a Whipple. Had my oil changed at Valvoline from 5w20 synthetic to 5w30 synthetic, and just about had a heart attack when I realized the ticking sound it was making when I got home. Mine is a little louder...but I will try this Ceratec magic tomorrow. Zaysnipes, you made this a year ago, is the fix still working for you?

if your going boost i would go 5w50 its expensive but its what a lot of people use when they boost their gts

Hey man, I’m looking to do a turbo 5.3 with a t56 mag XL I have an 08 GT, do you have any tips for the wiring part dash wise and holly terminator x tips?
For the factory dash to work u gotta do a bit figuring out which wires are for signal and just imo headache not worth it when the Holley has a digital dash that comes with it now for Holley wiring it’s pretty plug and plug hook up engine your ground and power wires load up a base file and you should get fire in the pipe now if I was u as I’m doing the Holley comes with a 3.5 digital display i run 6 gauges on 1 screen I would use that for as long as u can then upgrade to the 6-10 inch dash and make life easy

@DarkShadows-me2fj yeah kinda just is seen a lot more on brighter colors the burnt copper hid it well do to it’s dark spots but grabber blue will show everything hot rod black it will just blend in as it drys
