Space Reign - Heavy Frigates! Destroyers! Big ships go BOOM!
มุมมอง 2.3Kวันที่ผ่านมา
The latest chapter to Space Reign is out now! Bigger ships! New fighters and weapons! Point defense lasers and flak! Rockets! CRUISE MISSILES! BOOM! Here's some gameplay. I pick up a contract or two, and annihilated some bad guys, but not before they nuked my fighter. Please excuse my camera work, my favorite thing to do in this game is pause it during the battles and rotate the camera so I can...
Space Reign - Missile Boat Frigate!
มุมมอง 1762 หลายเดือนก่อน
If you can't tell, my favorite medium-sized ships aren't the most powerful (that would be the Caiman from the first video). But I really, REALLY love the look of the Vulture, and the Prowler has the most weapons mounts, so I turned it into a missile boat to back up my two Vultures.
Space Reign - Fighters!

Second video for Space Reign. This shows some one-man fighter cockpit action. The guns aren't gimballed, I like them to be fixed for the fighters, it gives me a better sense of satisfaction after taking the enemies out.
Space Reign - Frigate Space Battle!
มุมมอง 9192 หลายเดือนก่อน
Here's some gameplay from my new favorite space combat game, Space Reign. It's still in Early Access, but the devs are amazing and they're working on adding even more QoL improvements to the game. The combat is intense! And the aesthetics are straight-up The Expanse. Even one of the frigates, the Prowler, looks like the Rocinante. This video highlights their "medium"-sized ships, i.e., frigates...
Finally Reached the Center of the Galaxy - Elite: Dangerous
มุมมอง 1305 หลายเดือนก่อน
I finally reached the center of the Milky Way: Sagittarius A, a real-life supermassive black hole. I'm currently 25,000 lightyears away from Earth in a 1:1 scale replica of the real galaxy. It took me around 6 months, and over 1,500 jumps to get here. The game is a space sim called Elite: Dangerous.

First cutting session in almost a year. Kinda rusty. Swords used were the DeJoinville sword from Windlass Steelcrafts and the 15th Century Italian longsword Gen 1 from Balaur Arms.

มุมมอง 359 หลายเดือนก่อน
Short interview I did with ICB post-graduation. Obviously, I haven't uploaded any sword cutting or review videos recently. Winters in Ohio are rough and once the weather gets nice again, I'll start making more cutting videos. I have been very busy this past year. I just completed my first novella. It should be published sometime in 2025. I will upload more information about it as it comes along...

It was a relatively nice day so I decided to give the Shinwa ninja sword a go. It did fairly well right out of the box. I’m still learning how to use DaVinci Resolve so I decided to upload the video unedited. Sorry for the wind.

How to polish scratches out of a sword blade.
Why in the hell would you not even hint as to what game it was?
@@DGneoseeker1 it’s in a series, I have other videos from the same game up. I also mention it in the video descriptions.
@@DGneoseeker1 it’s in a series, I have other videos from the same game up. I also mention it in the video descriptions.
@@billyheaning Never mind, apparently I'm either blind or stupid. I actually read the description and completely blanked out the title being there.
what game is this?
Space Reign :)
nice gameplay but how can i mine debris?
@@asterklaster7575 you can’t at the moment but maybe down the road? Not sure.
interesting ive never seen or heard of Space Reign before. it looks like NFC but with better graphics and combat.
@@TheAngriestGamer. it’s my newest favorite game, I love everything about it. To me it’s the spiritual successor to Nexus The Jupiter Incident. I absolutely love the game’s aesthetic and the devs are great guys. I also play Nebulous: Fleet Command, but the learning curve for that game is more like a massive, steep cliff. A LOT of micromanaging. Which is fine, I love NFC for what it is, I think it’s the best there is in what it set out to do. I love this game because I get to scratch that fleet command space combat itch without having to worry about micromanaging everything. The sessions can be quick, get in, blow stuff up, have fun, get out. I can play for a while while watching TV or listening to music in the background. NFC takes literally all of my attention, lol. I’m still not good at it!
@@billyheaning ohhhh thats another classic Nexus TJI. damn shame N2 was never approved, cuz man the 1st one was so good. and yeah Micro managing things should be an option but not required. thats why im put off of NFC, its way way too micro intensive, your units can do everything but they are brain dead without you and dont take basic steps that the player frankly shouldn't have to be worried about.
it'd be nice if you actually put which game and such in the description.....
i think its Space Reign

This game seriously neesa moew attention
I knew it was going to be a new favorite the first ten minutes I started playing. This game is awesome, and I only wish the best for the devs. If this is their first game, I can’t wait to see what they do next.

I feel like indie devs are giving us a renaissance in space games nowadays.
@@connorb6703 This game just has everything I wanted in a space game. The ships, the guns, the cockpit action, the big ships, the bullets, the missiles, the direct control or overview status, pause control, and man-the aesthetic!! Phenomenal. I honestly feel like I’m playing an awesome mix of BSG2k and The Expanse. Sound design is amazing, too. Devs just sent me the code to beta test the heavy frigates just today. About to try it out! I’ll record it if I can.

The game is available in VR and I heard it's mindblowing.
@@billyheaningThen I'll have to look into it. Thank you so much for letting me know, Billy! 🙂

None
So first sword was an arming sword, second one a bastard sword ? Also are those specialized gloves?
First one is a 15th century French arming sword, yes, and the second is a 15th century Italian longsword. They're both historical replicas. The gloves are just baseball gloves.
After watching this video I went ahead and ordered 2 of them, one for cutting and abuse and another for pure enjoyment and wall decoration. Liked and subscribed, thx for this awesome video.
Thanks! I’m glad it helped you make the decision. I absolutely love my DeJoinville, it’s got the prettiest blade and the size and shape it just too cool.
日本刀の様式で制作された部分が全く無いので、日本人はこの刃物に笑ってしまう。 「本州」も「戊辰」も日本刀につけるべき名前ではないし、このマチェットは「脇差し」とは全く別のナイフだ。

This is " not" a Wakezashi !!! But some bullshit sword.Stop giving Japanese names to not Japanese made things !!!
Did you even watch the video, dude? I didn't name it, the company did.
Ha!
i kinda need this cuz it’s tight
Hey man, the only thing that truly matters is if you like it.
Just to clarify, if you have a small scratch on your blade, you just scratch the whole blade to fix it?
LOL. It wasn't a "small scatch". I think my words were "I scratched up the blade *really bad*, *horrific looking*, and *awful*", hah hah. 🙂
I guess esthetics are subjective. I never intended to own a katana at all. I now own 4 Ronin Katana Dojo-pros. I have one O-katana with Musashi style tsuba and a bohi, one "thunderstorm" tsuba Ko-katana, one "trapped Oni" Ko-katana with a red saya and a 30" bladed katana"trapped Oni" tsuba and red saya. I just ordered a 28" katana with a square tsuba and bohi and another 30" katana. I'm also waiting on a pair of Musashi style wakizashi with bohi. I've been surprised by the variety of blade styles. Add in tsuba design, sori, minuki, the variety of color combinations between the ray skin and the silk used to wrap the handle, etc... quite a variety. Just my opinion, though.
I get what you're saying. A katana is a beautiful sword, but in the end, the only thing that really changes the look of a katana or even a wakizashi is the hilt construction. I'm aware of the different shapes and sizes of early historic Japanese sword designs, but if you look at the sword through history, it rarely changes. Sometimes the blade is longer or the curve is more pronounced, but that's about it. The reason why I drifted away from katanas and got into Euro style is because of how different they are. A viking sword is nothing like a two-handed longsword from 400 years later. Rapiers, arming swords, longswords, kriegsmessers, falchions, broadswords, cutlasses, sabres. And that's not even getting into blade types. I'm not saying that Japanese swords or ugly or anything, just the designs become repetitive and similar. I love the diversity of European and Western swords. But like you said, it's just my opinion, too! Thanks for watching, and enjoy the rest of your day!
Thanks my dude saved my life
This is hilarious! Thank you for sharing this with me today, Billy!
I had a blast making it! It was wonderful meeting you today! Hope the interview turns out good!
I couldn't do 2:00 again even if I tried.
What’s your favorite style of sword?
Definitely the longsword, the two hands makes it way easier to control or correct mid-swing. I've got a gift for you waiting the next time I see you.
This is dope! I hope you're still creating billy! you're dope!
Saint!!! I miss you!!!! I can't wait to see more from you, too!!! <3
Hey Bill, I see they sell that scabbard by itself for about a hundred. Is the opening of the scabbard 2 inches by 1/4 inch?
Sorry for the late reply, I just now saw this. No, in my opinion, it’s not worth the 100 dollars. It’s made of a softer leather material that isn’t like their common scabbards. I can’t remember the name of the material but honestly I don’t think it’s anywhere worth 100 dollars. Unfortunately I don’t know the size of the opening.
See those people up in the upper left? They mentioned me online on a completely different forum.
I won't make a mention toward the history of Ninjato, but one thing that is historically accurate is weapon black. Old school weapon black was made basically with grease and charcoal and would be used to remove the shine from a sword so a flash from the sun glinting off your weapon didn't give you away to a skilled archer.
That’s pretty cool!
@billyheaning I have the same sword. It was my 1st ninja sword. It's a good sword for the price point. Since then, I bought a Sho Kosugi replica of the sword he used, & the other 1 I have looks like a sword that was used in the 1995 film, The Hunted starring Christopher Lambert. Personally, I think it's very possible, that the ninjato, or as I like to call it, the shinobzashi, was a real historical sword. I don't know if you're aware of this, but the reason why the tsuba is large & square, is so the ninja/shinobi could step up on it, when they're climbing a wall. I know the saya on your sword isn't pointed, but most ninjatos have pointed sayas. The reason why they're pointed, is so they can be stuck in the soil, as the ninja climbs. The straight blade would also add stability during climbing. It's for those reasons, & some others, that makes me think, that sword must been developed over time as it was being used in the field. I can't see an armchair fictional writer designing a sword like that.
Baluar IS Kult of Athena. It is their brand and they have used multiple forges to build the swords that they spec. They still have a bunch of sub $300 swords on offer including a 14th Century 2 hander and a 15th century arming sword. the 15th Century Italian Longsword is on "backorder"...but I'd say that's on "discontinued" as they no longer work with OTC. Some of the new preorder swords have gone to the $300+ and $400+ level.
Nice Iklwa! Have you done some back yard cutting with it?
Sorry! I just now saw this. Yep! I have! Check it out th-cam.com/video/1vt7yHKa2O0/w-d-xo.html
@@billyheaning right on. It does seem legit. Would you consider it battle ready or for display?
When I see at close it reminds me of a Chinese Imperial Dao blade. Tell me if I'm wrong?
Not at all, the first impression I got when holding it was instantly, "jian" or something Chinese. Daos are a bit wider towards the tip and curved, right? The blade most definitely looks Chinese in design.
I own this sword I love it so much. Can’t beat it for the price.
It’s definitely a hidden gem.
Nice cut testing Billy. Glad to see you back in action. The Shinwa performs well and always feels nice to have a caliber budget blade. BTW, nice build on that stand you have there. I always just used a chair or table ima have to figure out how to make me a stand.
Thanks! I have more cutting videos, but like I said before, they're all kinda the same. I need to talk to the guy who made the stand for me, I need one that's just about 1 foot taller.
I don't know,,, if water gets into the scabbard, which it will since you can't seal it to your mouth,, it will be too much water to blow out, so you won't be able to use it. but,, the small straw,, you can blow it out if water gets into it, so it will work. I suggest an experiment. Fill the tub, lay down in it, and use the breathing tube. (wear swimwear and film it. )
If I were to bet,, I would bet the square tsuba was because at some point, a nice round shape that was symmetrical was too hard for someone to make, and they could cut a square easily,, so they made a prop, and that was cool enough that it carried into a film crew making it to the movie. ,,, but, squares are good, and better than circles when it comes to occupying space, which means it's a much better handguard,, and since today we don't wear so much fabric in a garment, the square will hang up less when drawing it, meaning it might be a better sword for the modern user. ((back-a-when with so much cloth, the pointy tips would have snagged,, but our clothes are lighter and closer to our bodies, so this won't be the same issue)). ---- I personally think regardless of historicity,, the square ninja sword is a good sword, maybe even superior for today's average joe.
Thanks for the comment! Yes, it makes setting it down or picking it up at an angle a lot easier than a circular tsuba. The only thing I could think that would be a negative is that if ninjas did wear their swords on their back and they fell backwards, landing on a square tsuba with sharp points would hurt!
@@billyheaning luckily ninjas can't possibly fall down, and can only be bested by far superior ninjas.
@@tsmspace And that is Real Ultimate Power!!!! 😀
These swords had a square tsuba as a surface to step on. They would be propped against a wall and the ninja would use it to climb higher.
Sometimes we need something just for our own "cool factor" feels. BUDK has a few of those guilty pleasure items, my favorite is the Honshu Karito Axe.
One thing I will say about BudK and Trueswords: their orders have always come insanely fast. The times I’ve ordered from Kult of Athena, it took around a month from the time of purchase to arrival. I still love KoA but three days is pretty dang fast!
Great review! I bought mine today w/ initials from Museum Replicas! Someone called it, “generic perfection”. And that’s what I wanted. Your review helped!
Glad you enjoyed the video!!
Sorry, it's not a wakizashi, it's a katana. It's okay, by the way.
odd that it would be marketed and sold as the wakizashi since the website and box said wakizashi and it’s the size of a wakizashi but hey.
