Expat Bank Issues with NAB - Certifying ID at the Australian High Commission in London - Say Hello

NAB (National Australia Bank) sent me a letter to my UK address telling me they were closing down my account unless I verify my ID with them...despite me having my account with them since 2008. So, I had to go to the Australian High Commission in London and pay £43 to get it notorised and emailed to NAB directly from the High Commission. English Foods I Missed Most When Living in Australia - Expat Video

Hey guys! Apologies but I had a cold and sore throat when I filmed this so my voice sounds a bit awks. Anyway, after my last video where I opened up about where I've been lately (I was pregnant, had a miscarriage, lost two grandparents, then moved back to London from Sydney), I mentioned I still had some videos that I'd filmed while I was still living in Sydney, but just didn't have the energy ...

    Bondi and and the Eastern Suburb beach are not the only beaches in Sydney. You have not gone to the other beach in the Northshore like Palm beach, Narabeen, Coloroy and in the south Cronulla beach. So it is not fair about your comment in regards to beaches.

    • @SayHelloExpatAdvice
      @SayHelloExpatAdvice ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol, I have been to Palm Beach and Cronulla. Why are you making an assumption that I haven't been to them? Sorry but they're still nothing compared to Perth beaches. Maybe go to Perth and see the beaches there and then tell me which are best :)

    As someone from Perth I can't stand crowded beaches because I'm so used to having space. It's great! I get annoyed if someone sets up camp within 50 meters haha, definitely spoiled on the amount of beach space in WA.

    Perth vs Sydney is a semi-final at best. The final would probably be Perth vs Melbourne. Truth be told, and I doubt it has changed, but the biker gangs run the night scene in the city, and particularly Northbridge. If you try to participate in that industry without their backing or paying protection money, they'll have a kilo of heroine planted under your driver's seat. Only one of the sad negatives to report. Control by organised crime has been a problem though in Sydney and Melbourne though in the past if you watch the Underbelly series or more recently The Last King of the Cross. This is a problem anywhere in the world, so I wouldn't let it detract from your enjoyment of the place.

    I live in Perth and I 100% agree with you. People don't live in Perth for night life. Perth is a working city we travel on our days off or annual leave. Perth ppl earns more so they can afford to travel interstate or overseas few times a year. Food is better and cheaper in Perth. Even my Sydney friends said the same and they also said the people are better looking in the west.

    Perth has definitely got a lot better regarding nightlife in the last five years, though for me I grew out of nightclubs by age 23 anyway. And public transport is definitely a lot better and unlike Sydney we have a train line direct to the airport now. But yeah, both have pros and cons. For me, Perth has many more pros than cons.

    I'm from Perth but have been to Sydney several times, Melbourne too. West Australian's by enlarge are very in tune with their wild life because it's all around you. You can set the seasonal changes on how the wildlife behaves, I never found that in the east coast unless we stayed in the bush towns which I really enjoyed. I think another thing is Perth is not really a tourist city so it's not particularly set up for tourists so near all the attractions are set up for the locals which are overwhelmingly used by families. I also found men in Sydney and more so in Melbourne to be very feminin if that's a fair thing to ssy. Men in Perth I guess because of mining, fishing, farming and construction industries are better built more out doorsy and more masculine but without the bravado, more like polite gentlemen but tough as nails and very very family orientated. Sydney harbour is beautiful as is country Victoria, love the snow fields, think I've had a go at just about every one of them. There's good and not so good in every city, it just comes down to what you like and the lifestyle you live.

I don't mind paying high prices for good food, but most of the times I always regret it and feel scammed! Been to US, Brazil and Thailand and these countries when you pay high prices for food, usually food is extremely good, but in Australia food is rubbish with higher prices!

    The yellow recycling bins go to a special depot where the contents are sorted so we don't need fifty types of bin. That's odd every time I go to the supermarket they ask do you have bags. Sheets a bedding is called Manchester because all of our sheets and bedding used to be imported from English mills in Manchester and was labelled as made in Manchester hence the name. The word Doona is from the Norwegian word 'Dyne' and was popularised by the large northern European population in Australia.

Every time I go back to Perth to visit I go out to the nightclubs and bars there with my old school friends so I've had a lot of experience with the Perth nightlife. It's only been the past three years since moving back to the UK and then Covid hitting that I haven't been out there.
