How to Increase Equipment Reliability
มุมมอง 2.4K3 ปีที่แล้ว
How to increase equipment reliability by selecting the correct area of focus. Finding the area of focus is often times the first hurdle to overcome when beginning the journey of increasing reliability. This is not a comprehensive guide to understanding and executing a full blown reliability initiative, but rather a simple path to selecting problem areas, or equipment, to determine what to plan ...

Why Use Contactors???
มุมมอง 14K3 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, I talk about contactors, and why we use them in Industry today. A short comparison between control relays and contactors is given at the beginning of the video. This video is intended for newcomers to the electrical field, or industrial maintenance industry. Contactors are a key component that contribute to the automation and control concept in industry today. They also keep us s...
Motor Contactors Explained
มุมมอง 28K3 ปีที่แล้ว
This video is about the basic principle of operation for motor contactors. I talk about the theory of operation, and take apart a very common contactor to look at the inner workings. Also, some common failure modes are discussed about contactors. Please comment below with any questions. like and subscribe if you see value in this content. Thanks for watching!
Basic Motor Controls Explained
มุมมอง 156K4 ปีที่แล้ว
In this video, I discuss the basic principle of operation for a basic motor control circuit. This example could be found on a simple motor control circuit for say an exhaust fan. I draw out each component and explain how all the components interact with one another. Understanding the basic principle of operation first will set to stage for other TROUBLESHOOTING videos that are to come. Please c...
Leadership Skills for Managers (Setting a Boundary)
มุมมอง 1.6K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Leadership skills for managers can be a very important, yet often overlooked subject. In this video I discuss one specific scenario, in which an employee slightly crosses a boundary. I also discuss the consequences of remaining silent as a leader, and also the result of acting early, to diffuse these types of situations. Often times a persons behavior needs to be re-calibrated in order to maint...
Skilled labor jobs KILLED by TECHNOLOGY
มุมมอง 9904 ปีที่แล้ว
How technology has killed skilled labor jobs. This video explains how the advancements in technology over the years has lead to the decrease in the number of farms in America, which inadvertently has lead to less and less exposure to skills in the home setting. This is just one factor, that has lead to a lack of interest in the skilled labor trades, resulting in an increased demand for this spe...

4:24 Primary side of the Transformer connected to L2 and L3 would be 277v, not 480v. Right?

Does it matter if you put the OL NC contacts before or after the M1 coil? Will that translate differently on a wiring diagram?

Very good video. Especially you can explain it from two wires circuit to three wires circuit. It’s easy for the beginner to understand it. But for one thing it is confused for the beginner . It is the name, M1, for the motor and the low voltage control relay coil, which can not be named the same. The relay coil can be named as CR.

Only thing that's missing is an actual motor being hooked up. Diagrams are fine and great for understanding the circuit layout, but an actual motor, with fuse and push buttons and everything else would really hammer it home.

Can someone give me advice why I don’t get volts on the left side of the auxiliary coil motor starter, I only get 120 volts on the right side of the auxiliary . And therefore my coil would not close to send power to my T1, T2, T3. The left side is wired to back 3 terminal and to my SOL common from the circuit board. And my right coil terminal is connected to the hot power ( on/off) switch and it goes to L1 to the circuit board?
