Props, Plates, and Places: Saratoga’s Fall Foliage and the Ballston Spa Car Show
Join us for an unforgettable weekend of fall adventures in Saratoga, New York! We kicked things off with a scenic flight that gave us a bird’s-eye view of the stunning fall foliage, landing at Saratoga just as the season’s colors were at their peak. After a relaxing brunch at the Van Patten Golf Club, we explored Moreau Lake State Park, soaking in the vibrant reds, golds, and yellows of Upstate New York’s autumn palette. The weekend’s highlight? The Annual Ballston Spa Car Show, where vintage and modern classics lined the streets, showcasing the best of car culture in small-town America.
To top it all off, we climbed back into Juliet and took to the skies for a smooth flight home, reflecting on the beauty of the road (and skies) less traveled.
Watch now and see how Props, Plates, and Places makes the journey as memorable as the destination.

With Nannette off from teaching for a couple of days, we seized the opportunity for a quick flight. The plan? A smooth hop up to Binghamton to put rivets in our Sling High Wing, followed by a scenic journey over Niagara Falls and into Michigan. But things didn’t exactly go as planned. As we touched down in Binghamton, Juliet-our trusty Piper Cherokee-decided she wanted to test my rudder skills ...

Join me as I take to the skies from Long Island to Binghamton, New York, where we continue the exciting process of building our Sling HighWing, November Tango. In this episode, the project starts to feel real as we put the skins on the left wing-turning a collection of parts into something that actually looks like an airplane. My wife couldn't join this trip, but I kept her in the loop by sendi...

My wife Nannette and I with our youngest Declan had the incredible opportunity to join our son oldest son Liam for Family Day on the USS Eisenhower for a "TIGER CRUISE." Our son Liam invited us to Family Day on the USS Eisenhower. One of the highlights (or THE highlight) was the Air Show that they put on for the guests. I can't believe we were so close to landing military aircraft. What a privilege!

Quick video of our trip to Binghamton and the opening of the crate filled with our Sling High Wing airplane parts. We would have opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate, but then I wouldn't have been able to fly back. Looking forward to working with Doug @DougGoodrich and bringing 825NT from an idea into reality.

I wanted to fly with Liam on Father's Day and go to lunch at Sky Acres. Great little restaurant on the field. However when we arrived we discovered that the restaurant had closed down 2 months prior. Not a problem. We flew back to Farmingdale and ate there.

Nice nice.....so ordered your Garmin avionics yet??
Nice work again my friend!
Loving your videos Tom, especially your beautiful script writing and voice overs. I’m yet to order my SHW, but hope to build in a few years time. Keenly following your journey.
Thank you! I appreciate it. My wife told me to start a channel to document the whole process and my goal is to not sound stupid. After owning a low wing, the idea of a high wing is more appealing. Easier to get in and out (older relatives with knee or hip issues), shade you can sit under, you can see what you're flying over. More cargo space than the Sling TSI. Tall people in the back have headroom and leg space. Good luck when you do start your build!
@@825novembertango My reasons for the High Wing as well. There are so many low wings that meet my mission but as Linda Sollars says - they put the wings on the wrong side. As soon as it was announced I emotionally invested. Now I just have to get my financial ducks in a row so I can financially invest. I've already had good conversations with the Australian distributor, and know of a couple of local builds going ahead which I will also be following closely. Looking forward to your next episode drop.
ONE Of the BEST Video's You've EVER MADE!!! VERY COOL!!!
Thanks for that. It takes a bit of time to really find that groove; getting everything to click just right. But when it does, there's a certain satisfaction in it. Glad it hit the mark for you.
So much progress in one day? Subscribed to your channel, can't wait to see more.
Slow going at first. Will be posting more once all the parts come in and we really start going full bore into assembly. Waiting on our fuselage and landing gear.
I am so excited for you guys!
Thanks... It's been a long time coming. Now we are waiting for our fuselage.
Nice video!
Thank you! Ugh... it took me 5 years to see that you left a message. Sorry. :(
0:18 The missile system shown is Russian and it is called "Neva" with him we overturned the US invisible plane F-117A NIGHTHAWK that happened when Serbia was battling on March 27, 1999. It's the only invisible plane that has been shot down in war actions to date!
We had a private tour by a guy named Miroslav who took us to Novi Sad in the vicinity of Belgrade. Excellent tour. Toward the end he mentioned that in 1999 the Serbian military had a Russian anti-aircraft missile operated by this guy who saw 4 planes in a diamond formation on the radar which he thought was strange. Then he saw a blip for a second in the center.... then a 2nd blip. He guessed that there was a stealth plane in the middle and fired the missile at the void in the center. Bingo... took down the F-117. Pure luck. There was a parade for him.
@@825novembertango- It was a combination of luck and skill! On one radar the reflection of an invisible plane is very small but with more radars it is a good target, in any case it is the only downside. The pilot of that plane was here visiting our officer who commanded that unit.
