      Had a lot of low end not much top end geared it to be about 40 it was quite controllable I sold it a long time ago it was fun there wasn't a whole lot of difference between an 13 horsepower and a 22. More weight with a 22 more torque but the RPm's are about the same. Was a lot of fun. Fun to build to.

That was fun completely slick tires are even better So easy to drift on grass and it doesn't damage it. With such a light cart the 40 series did pretty good way cheaper. The 420 is not as cool but did pretty good too. The RPm's are about the same the engines a lot heavier the 670 has more torque obviously but doesn't feel much different

      I appreciate that I did it all just for the fun of it it was a duster 94 I forget but I did have to change spring weights and add a lot more weight to the weights that are in it. I know I added the maximum amount of weight that you could. If you have a light go kart that 40 series torque converter would be enough. Especially if you had the Harbor Freight 420 13 horsepower. I change the weight and Springs for the 40 series 2

    How fast is this thing I'm thinking about doing the same set up on my project buggy

    • @ians1464
      @ians1464 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Completely depends on your gearing it has plenty of power put a big sprocket on the wheel it's easier to swap out sprockets on the clutch. Had the smallest socket that would fit on the engine drive and it would go a little over 20 and then bumped it up to where it would go over 40 still tons of bottom end that's as fast as I wanted to go on this one.

    • @ians1464
      @ians1464 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I always wanted to do wheelies on these things too. To be able to do that you're gonna want a very short frame something made for a 5 horsepower Small tires no suspension in the front a weight thing put all the weight on the back and it's gonna be maybe A670 not sure you can do that with A420. Most lowest gears smallest sprocket in the front biggest in the back. Smallest that will fit on the front drive train and something closely matching the size of the back tires. At a minimum 40 series torque converter. Cars and camera did this I think they called it the Widowmaker

    • @norcal8718
      @norcal8718 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup the cart is exactly everything you described, short, no suspension etc I've seen karts doing wheelies with the 212 predators so the 420 has got to be able to do it, I would imagine so anyway. I guess we'll see when I'm done doing some mods to it and bolt it on my kart. I'll put up a video when I'm done🤞🏻

    • @ians1464
      @ians1464 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't always need one if you have a small light go kart 6 and a 1/2 horsepower especially if you stay on the road you don't need it. It acts like a transmission and changes ratio at different rpms. Big tires live axle engines with a lot of torque off road you're gonna want. They're not expensive. little 50CC scooters up to the big engine snowmobile's use them

      That's actually never been a problem. It's square to the front sprocket it's a 50 roller chain sprocket using 530 motorcycle chain. All the holes were done by hand or a drill press measuring as best as I could figure. The biggest problem I've had is not being able to take up more slack Started off with a tensioner on the bottom and then figured out that I had to put one on top to heavy duty trampoline Springs to keep it from skipping over the front sprocket when I let off the throttle

      They're just standard riding lawn mower tires. I think maybe around 20" by 1250 probably ordered them on eBay as a built set they were not expensive and the hubs just need to fit a 1" axle pretty common. I got a flex proof axle don't think you can bend that has a zinc coating so it's easy to change the set up.

Pulled it all from a junkyard for a reasonable price. The hubs Had extra metal that I cut off to save weight the bearings still seemed good didn't change those took off the rotors and any unnecessary weight. Pretty easy finding wheel spacer adapters for different log patterns or you could just use miata wheels. How much did it cost to build this? I am seriously considering building a buggy style go kart, but the cost is a lot. Im only 15, but my dad has a welder and all the tools that we would need to build one, but I'm not sure he wants to put a whole lot of money into one of these. I would also probably only have a 420cc engine at the most.

    • @ians1464
      @ians1464 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the 420 is the way to go for you with the 40 series torque converter cvt is fairly cheap. Take your time look around for a decent cheap go kart frame will save you 80% of the work. There will be plenty to modify with suspension mounting the engine live axel upgrade and so on. I've got some videos of exactly that started off with a 420 overrid the governor seized the engine put a 670 on it and an expensive duster clutch really not a whole lot different than the 420 to be honest. Mostly the cool factor of the 670 cost way more. The most fun is actually building it and figuring it out. This video here I found a perfectly good running Honda nighthawk the guy hit a deer sold the bike for a $1000 pretty much cut the frame out and left the motor in it was fun but it starts costing a lot. Practice with the cheaper 420 when you get bored with that find an ATV engine with reverse.

    This is definitely a useful video ordered 26" easton alloiminium shafts, on weight tests I went from the standard 375grain arrow up to a 450 grain arrow. Muzzle velocity from the barrell changed on average from 160ftlb to 190ftlb, quietened it down even though it made it more powerful, my block rated 450fps held the standard benjamin arrows, where as the block is now struggling, and the accuracy is just as good if not better.
