She plays so beautifully, then and now. Despite the fact that she has played with many orchestras and has won this competition, she has not had as successful career as say, Nicola Benedetti. It’s a shame, but it’s such a tough life for these acceptional musicians, because at the end of the day, it doesn’t come down to talent, it comes down to sheer luck

Incomparably exquisitely beautiful close mic'd and close video'd recording of this composition ever recorded, in a marvelous setting. The high frequencies of the violin are fabulously recorded. Too bad it's just the opening extract. Recorded for a "Songs of Praise" BBC episode. But enough to bring me undone whenever I see/hear it.

It becomes the feeling that a soul is penetrated to deeply when I listen to this music. The repayment of favor to my mother was not possible at all.

I was at the performance. a bit jetlagged having got off a plane from the USA that morning, but had a flat in the Barbican so was easy to make it across to the Barbican Hall. Was prepared to write her off as only being in the finals because she was 12 but was totally blown away by the performance. A very worthy winner indeed.

Yes, I will never forget this either. I think we all realised that even at the age of twelve Jennifer was that very rare type of person, a true master of her art.
