Bursting with sound! 🎉 On steroids, indeed!
I like the M25e sound wise to be honest. Its much warmer with the all mahogany body.....I am on the hunt for one :)
How bout trading that Bedell Skunk Baxter you got me into for that Martin?
You still have the TBA SB? If so how's it treating you?
@@jimmyfranklin3862 it's like my special lady. Takes 4 songs to warm up. After that, you realize it's a rosewood guitar.
Why don't you trade it fir this Skunk Baxter Bedell you got me into? 😃
@@batchelerjr straight across? Lol
@jimmyfranklin3862 I went out and found a Skunk Baxter after working in the yard and just hearing you Pic in the background. So I found one in Florida. And it had a Crack in it. Fixed at the bedell factory and it's fine. Not a loud guitar.
beautiful
What’s that song called? Nice playing!
I love KJP, have several of his CD's and saw him a few times in Portland OR in the 80's in real small venues, absolutely one of the most soulful players ever. Beautiful guitar. RIP
@robertwynkoop7112 Thank You. I miss my friend.
very nice good job!!!!
Thank You
How Sonny is not a bigger name is beyond belief. One of the best slide players alive.
Guy in the back left looks a bit like Joe Walsh. They sound great..
Excellent! Second to none!
I can't make up my mind. HD 28. D28. D28 Satin. D28 deluxe.
Still rocking👍🏽
Legends!
I wish I had seen Hiatt and Sonny playing together. John’s other guitarist is great, but Sonny is so unique in his style and sound. His slide technique always makes my jaw drop. John is fabulous all around.
I've seen Hiatt and the Goners for the 1st time I'm 1989, the slow turning tour, Sony Landreth blew me away. Since then I've seen Hiatt with the Goners six times. Can't beat that combination
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
John Pearse silk and phosor bronze 12’s would sound nice on the your Hummigbird, nice guitar 😎
Beautiful warm sound !!
Nice playing and a nice little guitar !!! Love the Blue Chip Picks too.
Love it! John with The Goners is what it's all about...
😎 cool
After 6 years how has this guitar opened up?
I no longer own it so I can't speak to that. My Guess is absolutely
Okay Jimmy, you’ve talked me into it 😂. A 00 Hog made right here in the USA. Sounds pretty impressive. Great review, brother man 👍🏻
Thank you! Enjoy that M-25 Brother!
I've seen these and laminate models (ecactly the same except no brand inlay on the headstock for about $350) on eBay. I'm not that patriotic or rich enough when it comes to solid wood guitars. How can I be sure I get the one you have. I own 10 guitars and still suffer from abalone deficiency! I hear all the bitching about too much bling. I want to see just one of those people turn down the Millionth Martin. Look it up, she's a beauty!! Thanks for the post!!
Zuwei has a page. Hit them up on Facebook chat they will give you info if you give them a serial number. Plus the Solid wood ones are around 700 Bucks and the ads statr solid wood. I was Lucky to find one I'm the local Pawn shop. I was too skeptical to buy one Blind. But now I would.
I've owned 2 different D-45's on a D-45V from 1984 with Brazilian back and sides. Two different D-41's and currently won a 2005 D-42. The "Too Much Bling" complainers would kill for any of those. All fantastic
@@jimmyfranklin3862 Those solid Zuwei parlors look very nice and all the reviews praised them. My oldest dearest friend of 45 years is a luthier. He's got 17 Martin's. I've played them all. I can't remember all the models but there's a matched set (000 & 00) of 1927 12 fret and matched set of 1941 mahogany. A Bellezza Bianca, D45, D42, D41. Assorted vintage O18s & 28s. The real prize is a New York made Martin with the original coffin case, somewhere pre Civil War. Martin is authenticating it as I write this. Thanks for getting back to me, I really appreciate it!👍🎸
Guitar needs proper miccing because whatever youre recording with makes it sound like a cheap guitar
I switched devices. Not happy with the sound. My old device had a headphone Jack so I could plug in a Outside mic. I'll have to see what out there for this device
Hey jimmy, do you know how many of the madi rosweood models were made? (So the tba-24, tba-28, the skunk baxter model). I know u mentioned they were pretty hard to find...but it seems like the figured mahagony om models were more avalible and heavily discounted.
Yeah, if it was a Award series it was Madi for the Rosewood models. 24 and 28's the Mahogany Award series models were Quilted Mahogany. The standard 18 and 24, 28' were Mahogany and East Indian i.e TB-28...East Indian. Award series were TBA-28 was Madagascar.
I Had a Skunk Baxter TBA-28SB it was Madagascar. My Buddy had a TBA-28. Engelmann top Madagascar back and sides. The TBA-28 also was Engelmann. So was the OHA-18G. Award series had upgraded wood all the way around
@@jimmyfranklin3862 ya they seem like great guitars! is their limited numbers of these, someone said there were like 50 of each or something not sure if that's true though.
That's awesome# they seems like great guitars. Do you know how many models were released of each guitar?
@@only1cel No. The TBA-24G there were o ly 25 built. The rest...I don't know. I've owned 3 of the 25. Lol
Hello Jimmy, I have owned so many guitars over the years ranging from Martin high end such as a 75th Hank sr. birthday commentative, a Doyle Dykes Talor signature guitar. Also, Gibson, Guild, Jose Ramirez, Fender etc... I have also tried many low-end guitars. What I have found is the name or where it was built does not matter. Even the best manufacturers have guitars that don't sound so well and also need to be set for a particular style of play or preference. I have some inexpensive guitars that sounded great and some very expensive guitars that sounded of less quality that what I paid for them. I'm glad that you took a chance with this guitar and had an open mind, and also glad that you knew what to do to take care of a minor problem for a reasonable price. A majority of large manufacturers have moved their operation overseas and they have the same CNC laths and program the same data as we do here in the USA. The tone woods are the same and as with any instrument, you take a chance buying sight unseen or un-played more importantly. I don't worry about any of the haters and don't care if they like the brand that I choose to use. What matters is the reaction you get from your audience or personal taste for tone and response from the guitar that you play. Good for you and you have a great sounding guitar. Maybe not the best, but what normal guy can afford 25.000 for a guitar that you gig with or just play around the house. When people pay so much, they are scared to play it because it might get a scratch. I want one that I can play anywhere and try to wear it out. Have a great time with your cool looking and sounding guitar.
Great Observation. Thanks for your post!
Each to his own i have a Martin d18 I would my trade for any other guitar out there
I have 2001 D-42, it sound so good, also a 1973 D-28, they each have their own sounds, I do have 2 Taylor's, they a great also but they are not D-42, I like different songs with each. If I had to take just one it would be my D-42
Reverse camera mirror, very Hendrix like. 😂
Lol
Sonny Landers !!!!!!!!!!
Good to still see you checking out great guitars, Jimmy. Best from Baltimore, bro!
Thanks Buddy!
2 Guild's!? Now that's what you call "gilding the lily." Awesome!
Lol. Thanks my friend
I would LOVE to own one. I was in a Sam Ash store on Sunset in Hollywood 15 years ago and they had a D-42 in a display case NEAR THE DOOR. There was a glass door that I opened and I pulled it out. I was shocked at the resonating tone. I hope to own one someday No way would they let anybody just pick up a D-42 and play it without supervision nowadays.
I'll take my Taylor everyday. Played and owned Martin's and they are overrated.
To each their own. There's an old saying, "Martin's are for the Good old boys. Gibson's for the bad boys, Taylor's for the choir boys". I didn't make it up but totally agree.
If you like tinkly sounding guitars, go for it.
Something is out of tune, truss rod needs a little tweak
Your Right. And I did.
Love the title!! Haha!! 🤘
Ahhhhhh Yeeeeees!!! There it is!! Lol Man the insane bell like clarity and big massive tone sounds better than Great!! Lol.. its opened up nicely from when you first got it!! Freaking awesome My Friend!! 🤘
Nice playing sir. I just bought an m25 on Saturday and will be receiving this week, so stumbling across your video was a nice little teaser(Tommy Bolin reference)😂thanks
Enjoy that M-25!!!
I’ve got a 08 D41 special that I absolutely love.
I've got a 38 special on a 45 frame.
D-41 Special has always been on my want list. Bit now that I have this D-42 I can wait a little longer...

How much was it?
Yeah..what was yer cost? Nice sound.

The street price is 2k
Honestlt, it is nice to hear Sonny without the slide. That les paul sounds good!
Hi jimmy I have one befell hgd-24- g from 2012 , did you what’s the price for this guitar?
Not for sale. Only 25 built. I've owned 3 of them. Sold the 1st 2. Keeping this one.
Thanks.
I personally hate all the "bling" on these Chinese guitars offered on Ebay. Overkill to me. To each his own. And do these Chinese guitars really sound all that good? And my other observation has to do with how "few" videos there are on TH-cam of these guitars. If they were that amazing, you would think tons of people would be buying them and raving about them via social media.
That's because there's not alot of these out there. I was thinking of buy a couple Martin's that were limited ones. One Being a HJ-28-M fantastic guitar. No Videos on TH-cam. Zero. Why weren't there a ton videos "Raving" about it? Only 50 built That's why. If you're gonna use social media to determine how good your Guitar is gonna be...well you might be disappointed or you may miss out on a good one.
Do you think this Chinese guitar is decent? @@jimmyfranklin3862
