ThunderBall Run 2021
มุมมอง 1103 ปีที่แล้ว
For the first time in a long time, both of our 1964 Thunderbirds were roadworthy at the same time! We decided to take a weekend road trip through some classic L.A. spots in March 2021. Perfect weather and classic cars go well together. It was good vibes only. Music: Green Onions by Booker T. and the M.G.'s
Sound of a Failing Universal Joint
มุมมอง 703 ปีที่แล้ว
This sound was coming from a failed universal joint (front u-joint). Complete mechanical failure was likely imminent. We threw in new Spicer universal joints and she drives as quiet as can be now. This is on a 1964 Ford Thunderbird but pretty much any car with a Hotchkiss style driveline may experience a similar issue eventually. A failed front u-joint can be very dangerous and cause a lot of d...
Oil Filter Comparison - Moroso vs. FRAM
มุมมอง 1.1K4 ปีที่แล้ว
Purely empirical comparison between a Moroso and FRAM oil filter. The Moroso is USED and the FRAM is new. The Moroso obviously looks to be of higher quality but does that really mean it protects your engine better? Let me know what you think in the comments.

Caught on Dash Cam - Jeep Wrangler Pulling Trailer Wrecks
มุมมอง 457K5 ปีที่แล้ว
Keep an eye on the blue Jeep Wrangler... Let this be a reminder to double check your trailer weight and balance! In this guy's case, the short wheelbase of the Jeep did not help matters. The driver only suffered minor injuries (a scratch on the head and a mild concussion). He was reportedly on his way from NorCal to Los Angeles. This occurred getting onto southbound Highway 99 at Avenue 18 1/2 ...
A Reminder to Remove Fuel Nozzle Before Flight (Fail)
มุมมอง 595 ปีที่แล้ว
This extremely competent driver failed to remove the fuel nozzle from her vehicle. I guess she feels it is acceptable to just replace it back on the fuel pump like nothing happened. The confused look on her face when she can't find a way to reconnect it...priceless. #FuelingFAIL Shot on a G1W-C dash camera.
1964 Thunderbird Maiden Voyage on Holley Sniper EFI
มุมมอง 4535 ปีที่แล้ว
Maiden voyage of my 1964 Thunderbird "Tina" 4 years in the making. This footage is the first time she has moved under her own power in 4 years now with a fully refreshed and warmed-over drive train. I was sure to take it a little easy on this run; still working out some bugs. I'm looking for new wheels and tires soon so the next video may involve some tire annihilation. A little about the build...

My neighbor purchased a huge (easily 27 ft, probably larger) trailer with his wife’s Ford Aerostar (minivan). He was told by the salesman the Aerostar could tow it. I told him that he should not tow it with anything less than a Ford F250HD Supercab with a 460 CID engine, automatic transmission with the trailer tow package like I had. He insisted that the Aerostar would work well, the salesman told him so. I asked him who he should believe, the salesman who made a big commission on the sale, or his neighbor with towing experience. He believed the salesman, because he should know, and took the trailer towed by the Aerostar out for a weekend. Upon their return, his wife told us the guy had to keep a death grip on the steering wheel and fought the trailer the whole time on the road; the trailer pushed the Aerostar all over the road, and it was truly scary. They had to drive super slow to maintain control of the car and trailer. They never took the trailer out again, and sold it two or three years later. The neighbor never admitted that I was right, and avoided me forever afterwards. I was just happy that they did not get killed. The reason I tell this story is to point out that it is quite possible, perhaps probable, that a salesman told these guys in this video that their car would tow quite well, and they chose to believe him. I've had my TJ Wrangler since new in March, 2004. I don't find it particularly sketchy like some say, nor as roll prone as some like to imply. On the other hand, they definitely have towing limitations, moreso with the short wheelbase for the 2 door models. When I towed larger things, I definitely used weight distributing hitches and paid attention to tongue weight, trailer weight, and loading. I never had an issue and even had tires blow out while towing. Having said that, I still prefer hammock or tent for camping for whatever reason.

Sonny Leonard uses moroso oil filters on his 700, 800, 900, 1000 cubic inch mountain engines. They must be superior if used on $100,000 engines .

  • @SlikLizrd
    @SlikLizrd 2 ปีที่แล้ว

A true "Comparison" video compares two (2) or more items that are of similar characteristics -- but THIS video does not. These filters are not even remotely similar on price, purpose, or performance. That stupid Coil Spring has been abandoned by all major oil filter makers, including the high-end Amsoil & Royal Purple. Your notion that the Fram's end caps are "cardboard" shows clearly that you are not up-to-date on oil filter construction -- or you would know that some oil filter makers are RETURNING to the Pressed Fiber end caps for two (2) reasons: The adhesive sticks better to the media with the Fiber Caps, AND the Fiber Caps use less energy to produce, which makes the Fiber End Caps more environmentally-friendly. Professional engine builders will tell you that there is NO REASON to put a Racing Oil Filter on a brand-new or freshly-rebuilt engine. What the hell were you thinking !??

This has to be the worst full size vehicle to tow with. It’s a 2 door which makes it a shorter wheel base. You better have a good setup. Anti-Sway, trailer brakes, Weight distribution hitch, good weight distribution in camper.

If you're going to tow over capacity, keep it at 45mph or under...... far less chance of trailer sway.

  • @shaynelhta

The TJ Jeep drivers just needs to buy a longer trailer to avoid this problem. When you have an 90 inch wheel base, you should be pulling nothing less then a 32 ft trailer.

Here In the US u can b any level of dumbAzz u care to b. From stuff like this to trying to work a smartphone, rolling down the interstate eating fries at 85 miles an hour. This guy was probably just getting the ketchup pac out when a robo call set his phone off in his pants. Just a little too much on his plate with the main event starting way too early. I don’t believe this driver had little man syndrome tho otherwise he would have been rockin the F350KingRanch coastal diesel edition. I will say that gives a brand new meaning to “getting off the grid.”

I have owned my TJ for 17 years and have never had a problem with stability, however given the poor braking power, I have only only tow a boat trailer with kayak and a motorcycle trailer with Harley. It's one thing to risk your own life, but if this had resulted in a fatality, the driver would be facing felony charges if they survived.
