I am a scale model maker from the UK who in my spare time creates WWII dioramas on my main channel CW Modelling, but I also enjoy figure painting so have started this channel as a dedicated place to post my figure painting videos.
The videos will mostly be painting 1/35 military figures but also historical and fantasy figures in various scales.
I hope you enjoy

I was a bit worried about the copyright situation with regards to printing this figure from Alexanatolshel on CGTrader so I sent the creator a message asking him if it was ok to use his figure for a painting video on CW Miniatures. Well, it turns out he's a big fan of CW Modelling and has been subscribed to the channel for a few years and was really happy that I had chosen his figure to paint. ...

3D Printed Miniature Painting Handle - Miniature Painting 'My Way'
มุมมอง 1.6K7 หลายเดือนก่อน
I've been using simple corks with a coin glued to the bottom for my painting handles for a long time now but with the launch of CW Miniatures I thought it was time for an upgrade before we get to any painting. This is nice simple handle and it feels extremely comfortable in the hand and is much easier to grip that the simple cork I've used previously. The cork is a champagne cork and I also glu...
Good morning, I'm Massimo. I'm writing to you about the 1/35 US Paratrooper, Normandy 1944 from Dynamo Models. I wanted to know the length of the rifle strap. Thanks Massimo
Around 5cm and then cut to size on the figure👍
Nice vignette! Question: why do you print the base in an angle like that instead of just print it flat (which feels like would be easier)?
Thanks.....the printing angle is to do with the quality of the surface finish to all sides. If you want an in depth explanation here's a video that explains all - th-cam.com/video/Qs2Rb0ExnIM/w-d-xo.html
wonderful job
Great job
Great work as always ☺☺
Great job. Not too many people do vignettes. And yet they're a great way to get more involved in figure painting and terrain at the same time for very little cost. And lots of options to learn from.
Great work, I do like your job on the vegetation, impresive attention to details!
Great work Ian,I might use this as a corner for a tank diorama one day,as I love the idea. What hot wire do you use,as I am looking to treat myself for Christmas, but I cannot determine what will be the best option, proxxon or something else?
Mines a Proxxon👍
Wow Realy cool. 👍🏻 Very simple great scene.beautiful work
Brilliant, work as normal.
Absolutely wonderful video, grazie mille
parfait, très bien expliquer on s'améliore a vous regarder continuer comme ca .

Great paintjob
Coole Arbeit ❤.
Good Paintjob!
Very well painted 👍
Looks amazing Ian! I am starting to paint some German infantry for Normandy and I am trying to use your videos,so I find all of these videos very useful.Great work.
Brilliant videos and perfect painting on 1/35 scale. Do you paint 1/10 busts. I would love to see your technique and pick up just some of your painting skills. A++
Thanks, I don't have any plans for a bust at the moment but that may change👍
Very perfect video. Relaxing, explaining by showing, high quality results. Thank you.
That's fantastic
XPS is a really versatile material, really great job! I really enjoy your content keep it up!
Nice 👍
Really nice Ian 👌👌
Alpine bringt großartige Figuren heraus. Das einzig negative sind immer die gleichen SS-Figuren in Tarnuniform. Warum nicht endlich SS-Figuren in langen grauen Mänteln wie zu sehen im Film "Schindlers Liste"??
Nice work frees from Belgium
Buddy, there is nothing "simple" with this base - you are a modeling machine 🙂👍💓💓💓
Always enjoy watching your videos, both channels. Lot of detail in that small diorama, great stuff.
That base truely does a fantastic job to prezent the figure, both painted perfectly, and I might have to ”copy” the building just in a larger size for one of my dioramas.Great work Ian!
Very well done, lots of details.
This is truly impressive, it looks like an actual photo from ww2.
Buen trabajo. Donde pones las pinturas para la mezcla, que es papel humedecido?
Thanks.....yes the paint is mixed on a wet palette👍
Looks cool.
Красиво сделал 👍👍👍
Super work. Thanks for including the wet palette mixes in the sequence, that helps immensely. Is that clear stuff on the lower left, a glaze medium?
Thanks.....the clear stuff is just water👍
Bravo, beau travail !
